Emmerdale's PC Swirling investigates as violent crime rocks the village
PC Swirling (Andy Moore) was back doing what he does best tonight – solving crime committed in the Emmerdale village.
Falling victim to a horrific ordeal in this evening's episode was Paddy Kirk (Dominic Brunt). He had agreed to take Bear Wolf (Joshua Richards) into Hotten to get a hire car but on the way, he had to stop due to Bear needing the loo.
While Paddy waited, we were introduced to new character Celia Daniels (Jaye Griffiths). Paddy has met her before, but avoids her due to the fact she isn't the most welcoming person.
As Celia wandered off, Paddy spotted a sheep caught in a fence. He jumped out of the car and set about freeing it, but the situation then dramatically changed when an aggressive dog approached and started barking.
The dog leaped over the fence and attacked Paddy, badly injuring his arm.
Poor Pads was rushed into theatre, leaving Bear and Mandy Dingle (Lisa Riley) to anxiously wait for an update.
Fortunately, Paddy was very lucky. As he laid in bed to recover, PC Swirling told him that they'd head to Celia's land to check the area out.
Pads was then faced with a frustrated Bear. Moments after hearing how grateful his son was that he saved his life, Bear chose to absolutely verbally destroy Paddy. He commented on Paddy's mental health, called him a 'doormat', and reckoned people tip toe around him because they're worried he might feel suicidal again.
'So they are cruel to each other, but Bear, as he's in hospital, Bear calls him a pansy and calls him, you know, he's not a man', star Dominic Brunt shared. More Trending
'He says the worst things that a father can say to a son, really, and at the very worst time, and at his most vulnerable, and he's injured, and he wants to be looked after. But that's the thing about the miscommunication as well, because Bear is venting, he doesn't mean that, he's just saying it. He doesn't know what to say. He's worried about his son.

'He sees him there, and he wants it to go away. He wants everything to be right. And I think his way of saying it, his inarticulate way, is by saying, 'get out of bed, you pansy!'.'
Paddy has made a massive amount of progress since that mental health storyline, but Bear's words hurt as much as that dog attack. He held his own while around Mandy and Bear but as soon as Paddy was left by himself, he allowed himself a moment to break down in tears.

EastEnders fans discover BBC soap star is 90s comedy legend
Villains are killed off and others jet off abroad in search of a new life, making way for new talent to arrive on Albert Square. Among the most recent confirmed exits on the BBC soap include Molly Rainford, known for playing Queen Vic barmaid Anna Knight. But there's one former resident of Walford who has recently been appearing in the classic EastEnders episodes, and fans are shocked to realise she was also a 90s comedy legend. EastEnders' Top 5 Villains EastEnders fans discover Queenie Trott actress is 90s comedy star It comes as someone said in a throwback post on Reddit: 'Classic EE: I just realised who Queenie Trott was! 'She used to star in comedy show Keeping Up Appearances playing Daisy in the 90s. 'Judy Cornwell (who played Heather's Mum) only lasted 8 episodes (2007-08) and her last appearance was only this week after seeing her daughter getting married to Minty (fake or real). 'Was it just me, or did anyone else knew who she was?' Queenie Trott was played by Judy Cornwell, who joined the programme in 2007 and was the mother of Heather Trott. However, in 2008, Queenie exited the BBC soap as part of a storyline that saw Heather marry her fiancé, Minty Peterson. When Heather was murdered on EastEnders in 2012, Queenie didn't attend her funeral. Yet before her role on EastEnders, Judy took on the character of Daisy, who was the sister of Hyacinth Bucket (Patricia Routledge) and was married to Onslow (Geoffrey Hughes) on Keeping Up Appearances. Reacting to the discovery of Judy's role as Daisy in the BBC sitcom (from 1990 to 1995), someone responded to the original post on the subreddit r/eastenders: 'And the penny drops!!!! Thank you!!' This person commented: 'What a great actress, those two characters are worlds apart.' Someone else put: 'I knew who she was, always liked Onslow and Daisy lol.' Meanwhile, one fan revealed: 'She also played Mrs. Musgrove in the 1995 film 'Persuasion' with Ciarán Hinds—she was fantastic in that role!' Recommended reading: Another added: 'I knew who she was, but I'm once again aggrieved at Heather's demise when she had so much more storytelling to do, including her relationship with Queenie!' One viewer replied: 'And Judy is still alive and well, now 85 years old.' Do you remember Judy Cornwell as Queenie Trott in EastEnders or as Daisy in Keeping Up Appearances? EastEnders fans slam jarring BBC couple who were not a match
Zack Hudson and Whitney Dean were a prominent couple on the show who planned to get married before Whitney discovered her partner's unfaithfulness. Things famously came to a head at their wedding ceremony when Britney revealed Zack had cheated on Whitney. A furious Whitney then attacked Lauren and Zack before storming out of the registry office, according to Digital Spy. Taking on the EastEnders official Reddit page, the original poster asked: "Did anyone actually like Zack and Whitney being together?" Fans of the BBC soap opera were quick to express their dislike of the relationship, with one user writing: "Always jarred a bit for me - the storylines about Peach, the fostering, Britney etc were good, but as a couple they felt a bit flung together. Which was probably the point IDK." Another agreed, penning: "Yeah, I felt the same. I wasn't keen on them as a couple (despite them both producing some good work together) and felt they weren't a match, either personality or chemistry-wise. "But this was by design and what they wanted to portray (given that Shona has known she was going for most - if not all - of that time)." One user said: "I did feel like their relationship came out of nowhere. I don't remember them interacting at all, and then she suddenly had a crush on him. "I didn't really like Zack until the Peach storyline, I think he supported her as best he could, and he seemed like he genuinely cared about her. "I think if Shona hadn't wanted to leave, they would have stayed together. They seemed like a solid couple before the Britney stuff, and I thought they were good together." Another fan added: "No, because I was annoyed that they didn't pair Zack and Sam together. All that build up and nothing, what a waste of time that was." Another echoed this dislike, writing: "Never. Zack was a playboy, and Whitney was a hypocrite with Lauren after she got with Joey while she was in rehab. "The dig at her being an addict just before her and Zack got together was uncalled for, too." However, one fan went against the grain, telling the OP: "Yes, I liked them together and was annoyed when he cheated with Lauren. "I'm hoping they don't put him and Lauren together. I don't know why, but I feel he could get with Zoe when she returns to the square"
