Philadelphia Eagles, Charles, why do you have him as your number one defense?
Other than that, they were the number one defense last year and they won the Super Bowl.
And they, I mean, it's a pretty easy argument to make as well.
It's easy to make, but it's also not quite the same defense, you know, they've lost some guys on the defensive line.
They've lost Milton Williams, who signed that massive deal with New England.
Josh Sweat is in Arizona, but you look at their defense, right?
And it's just littered with first and second round picks all over the place, right?
The defensive line still is, you know, all the Georgia guys, they've really started to develop.
Jordan Davis, I think we'll see what happens this year.
He's gotten into incredible shape.
Contract year, Jordan Davis could be special.
We'll see.
Jaylen Carter, we know about that.
But Nolan Smith, like when I was skimming through some of my stuff, he has really improved from where he was when he first got into the NFL.
Like he was all over the place in the Super Bowl.
You get to bring back Zach Vaughan.
Like we're talking about a 7-2 Scott Bonner, who was an absolute assassin last year.
And sometimes you get these years from linebackers where like, oh, they put up a lot of numbers, but it's pretty manufactured.
No, he actually played really, really good football last year.
And then we got Quinnen Mitchell on the outside, who's an absolute stud.
Cooper DeJean, who's an absolute stud.
But they have so many guys on this defense still.
I still think they're going to be the best defense in the league because a lot of those guys are so young.
Like a lot of these guys are still in their rookie deals or first or second year players.
These guys are going to get better.
So I'm really excited to see what the next step of all those guys they've drafted in the last two years looks like in year three, because there's hard proof of concept that these are potentially Pro Bowl talented NFL players and they're so young.
I just want to see what's next for them.

The 49ers are banking upon a defensive talent infusion from the 2025 NFL draft. San Francisco used all five of its first 2025 NFL draft picks on the defensive side of the football, including its first-round selection at No. 11 overall on Georgia defensive lineman Mykel Williams. Williams tallied 67 tackles, 21.5 tackles for loss, 14 sacks, three passes defensed, three forced fumbles and one fumble recovery across 40 games in three seasons with the Bulldogs. The 6-foot-5, 267-pound defensive end started 17 games during his Georgia career. Now, Williams is tasked with fortifying the 49ers' defensive edge and its pass rush. On Thursday, 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan was asked if Williams is pretty well advanced for a rookie. "Yeah, I would say so. Just watching the style of how he played in college, he's just technical and stuff. I thought that jumped out on his tape the most, how good he is with his hands. A lot of pass rushers coming out of college who are talented like him and just use their talent, but he's as good with his hands as anyone I've seen coming out. And it's transferred over to practice too," Shanahan said. San Francisco is getting a good early look at Williams with some of its one-on-one pass rushing drills. Shanahan shared what the staff can glean from its one-one-one pass rushing drills during training camp. "The same as all one-on-ones, just it's able to isolate it. You can really see how a guy blocks with no help around him and you can really see how a guy's just teeing off and all he has to worry about is going to the quarterback. "Then you get out there on 11-on-11 and there's a lot more scheme involved, there's a lot more other guys, knowing what play's happening and there's so much that goes into it. But you get a situation where you can just truly focus on blocking and rushing and that's the hardest time to do it for a blocker and the best time for a pass rusher. And same with one-on-ones for receivers/corners, should be the best time for a receiver and the toughest for a corner without a pass rush, but it truly can show what guys are capable of doing in their total level of talent," Shanahan said. Williams has been impressing early during his time in San Francisco. The former Georgia Bulldog has garnered some first-team work opposite five-time Pro Bowler Nick Bosa. Williams has already drawn praise from future Hall of Fame left tackle Trent Williams, which is another positive sign as his rookie season approaches.

PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Jhoan Durán earned a save in his Philadelphia debut after Bryson Stott beat a throw to first base and was ruled safe on an overturned review call for the go-ahead RBI single in the eighth inning as the Phillies beat the Detroit Tigers 5-4 on Friday night. The Phillies trailed 3-0 in the seventh and 4-3 in the eighth, rallying each time against the AL Central leaders and setting the stage for Durán's ballyhooed debut. With former WWE star The Undertaker's gong setting the soundtrack, Durán entered with only iPhone lights on in the ballpark and flames on the big screen to create the dramatic mood. Duran did the rest in his first appearance since his trade-deadline acquisition from Minnesota. He retired the side in order in the ninth inning — on four pitches — for his 17th save. The Phillies rallied without slugger Bryce Harper, ejected in the seventh inning for arguing a called third strike on a check swing. Gleyber Torres hit a three-run homer off Phillies starter Ranger Suárez in the third inning for the early lead. Stott had a sacrifice fly and Trea Turner and Kyle Schwarber added run-scoring singles against Detroit's bullpen to make it 3-all.
