Will Smith takes aim at Chris Rock with savage Oscar slap lyric in cringey freestyle

Daily Maila day ago

Will Smith blasted Chris Rock as nothing but a 'joker' in his 'Fire in the Booth' freestyle rap I Am the Illest, which he performed with Charlie Sloth three years after his violent assault against the comedian onstage the 94th Academy Awards.
'Now I'm not the type of man to move in malicious ways / and I am too grown to play childish games / but if you talking crazy out your face up on the stage and disrespect me on the stage,' the disgraced 56-year-old rapped on June 22.
'Expect me on the stage.'
Will (born Willard) continued: 'Jokers dish it out, cry foul when it's time to take it / city full of real ones wasn't raised to fake it.'
Smith slapped the 60-year-old Selective Outrage funnyman and warned him to 'keep my wife's name out of your f***ing mouth' after he delivered a G.I. Jane joke about Jada Pinkett Smith 's bald head, which was a result of alopecia.
Curiously, the Tantrum rapper avoided mentioning or even referring to the 53-year-old Worth author in his freestyle rap despite her being the very reason for his so-called 'chivalrous' outrage.

Aside from throwback snaps, Will and Jada haven't been physically pictured together since the Hollywood premiere of Bad Boys: Ride or Die way back in May 2024.
On January 30, People reported that Smith and Pinkett - who were secretly separated from 2016-2022 - 'are still together' but 'living their own lives' in different homes.
The hot-tempered Oscar winner seems internally divided on whether he's truly contrite or defiant over slapping Chris, but the subject has crept into his new songs as well as being slapped three times by his Bad Boys co-star Martin Lawrence in their movie.
Hours after the shameful 2022 altercation, Will neglected to apologize to Rock in his acceptance speech, and then he went to the Vanity Fair Oscar Party in Beverly Hills where he celebrated and sang along to his own songs.
But the very next day, Smith resigned from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, which banned him from attending any of their events - in person or virtually - until 2032.
'Change takes time and I am committed to doing the work to ensure that I never again allow violence to overtake reason,' the West Philly native said in a statement at the time.
'My actions at the 94th Academy Awards presentation were shocking, painful, and inexcusable. The list of those I have hurt is long and includes Chris, his family, many of my dear friends and loved ones, all those in attendance, and global audiences at home.
'I betrayed the trust of the Academy. I deprived other nominees and winners of their opportunity to celebrate and be celebrated for their extraordinary work. I am heartbroken.'
On June 18, Will told BBC Radio 1Xtra that he's done a lot of 'internal work' and 'deep reflection' and 'took a big, strong, honest look at myself.'

'For the first time in my career, [I was] having to deal with a level of disapproval that I never had to experience,' Smith marveled.
'The addiction to the approval of others that I had to dissolve, it was brutal. It was just like there was a manhole cover over some unexplored areas and the manhole cover came off.
'It was scary for a minute what was in there. But then all of a sudden, all these new thoughts, new energies, new creativity came through like a geyser and it started showing up as music.'
Unfortunately for the four-time Grammy winner, his first album in 20 years - Based On A True Story - failed to chart in any major territory with Pitchfork blasting it as 'excruciatingly corny' and Rolling Stone calling it 'cringey, clunky, and dated.'
Will - who gets 11.8M monthly listeners on Spotify - is next scheduled to bring his 26-date Based On A True Story UK/European Tour to Spanish music festival Granca Live Fest in Las Palmas this Thursday.
Smith's upcoming acting projects include long-delayed sequels to his early aughts blockbusters I Am Legend and Hancock, as well as sci-fi thriller Resistor for Sony Pictures and Michael Bay's amnesia action flick Fast and Loose for Netflix.

The Devil Wears Prada 2: Kenneth Branagh joins cast as sequel begins filming

Kenneth Branagh is joining the original cast of The Devil Wears Prada for the much-anticipated sequel which begins filming this week. The actor-writer-director will play the husband of Meryl Streep's vicious fashion magazine editor Miranda Priestly. Streep returns along with Anne Hathaway, Emily Blunt and Stanley Tucci. News of the production was announced on Instagram with a teaser featuring lines from the original. The sequel, again directed by David Frankel, will reportedly see Priestly dealing with the collapse of the magazine industry, now forced to build bridges with her one-time assistant Emily (Blunt) who is the head of a luxury brand and its advertising spend. 'Why are Meryl and I so mean to each other in every movie we do?' Blunt recently said when talking about the film. 'We always have beef with each other. I don't know what it is. Let's hope we remedy it. I'm not sure.' Blunt will soon be seen alongside Dwayne Johnson in the fact-based UFC drama The Smashing Machine and leading Steven Spielberg's untitled thriller out next summer. The film will mark Streep's first film role since 2021's Don't Look Up. The original 2006 comedy, based on the novel by Lauren Weisberger, made over $326m at the global box office and scored Streep a best actress nomination. Weisberger wrote a sequel novel, Revenge Wears Prada, in 2013 and the film was turned into a stage musical, premiering on the West End in 2024 to middling reviews. Branagh was last seen in the Agatha Christie adaptation A Haunting in Venice. Last year, he finished production on the psychological thriller The Last Disturbance of Madeline Hynde, a film he is directing with Jodie Comer starring. The Devil Wears Prada 2 is set for release in summer 2026.

Katy Perry secret fears over safety revealed while ex Orlando Bloom shares cryptic post

Katy Perry has new fears for her safety amid her split from Orlando Bloom - who has also recently shared a cryptic post to his social media. The Firework songstress, 40 - who seemingly hinted at her breakup from the actor on her recent 143 album - filed a temporary restraining order on a homeless man who has showed up at her Santa Barbara home multiple times, per TMZ. It comes only days after it was reported that the singer and Bloom, 48, separated after nine years together and welcoming daughter Daisy, four. In court documents obtained by the outlet on Monday, Katy filed a temporary restraining order against a man named Ross Elliott Hendrick on June 18. Perry has claimed that the homeless man has visited her property various times throughout the month of May and continues to return. The first time he attempted to trespass at her Santa Barbara abode, he was arrested - and her security team stated that Hendrick had a butane lighter and an aerosol can with him. The second time he returned to the pop star's home, the man threw a blanket over the security gate. Katy's security has backed up her worries and agree that Hendrick could pose a potential threat. She has requested that the homeless man not only stay 100 yards away from her, but also her properties, job, car and now-ex Orlando Bloom. The legal documents were filed on June 18 - shortly before it was reported that Perry and Bloom had separated. Also on Monday, the actor shared a cryptic post to his Instagram stories on Monday in the wake of his split from ex-fiancée Katy Perry. The Pirates Of The Caribbean star - who recently partied with A-listers at the Venice wedding of Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez - shared a quote from Gautama Buddha to his 7 million followers. The quote that Bloom reposted read: 'Each day is a new beginning. What we do today is what matters most.' He additionally shared a separate slide which had another quote which was titled 'Daily Encouragement by Daisaku Ikeda.' It continued, 'The important thing is to take that first step. Bravely overcoming one small fear gives you the courage to take on the next.' Earlier last week, it was revealed that Orlando and Katy officially called it quits after dating for nine years. At the time, a source told Us Weekly: 'Katy and Orlando have split but are amicable,' while also adding that the separation has been 'not contentious' thus far. 'Katy is of course upset but is relieved to not have to go through another divorce, as that was the worst time in her life.' The Teenage Dream hitmaker - who is currently embarking on her Lifetimes Tour - was previously married to Russell Brand from 2010 until their divorce in 2012. The insider further added that the reported breakup had been 'a long time coming' and that their relationship had also been 'tense for months.' In the wake of the separation, Bloom whisked himself away to Venice to attend the star-studded nuptials between Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez this past weekend. The actor was spotted mingling with a number of celebrities, including Kim Kardashian and Sydney Sweeney. PR and brand expert Chad Teixeira talked to MailOnline about the split, labeling it as 'incredibly well-timed' for Orlando. 'The breakup has created a brand window for Orlando, and one that he's stepping into with just the right amount of presence. Teixeira added, 'He's not chasing the spotlight, but he's not hiding either. That's a savvy move in today's fame economy and it'll stand him in better stead when Katy's fame is disappearing more than ever. 'From a brand and public image standpoint, Orlando Bloom's recent split from Katy Perry appears to be incredibly well-timed, whether intentionally or coincidentally. 'In the wake of a high-profile relationship that often placed him in the shadow of Perry's headline-making career, Orlando now has the opportunity to reestablish his own narrative, independent of her increasingly complex public perception.' Chad then expressed that Perry has 'struggled to gain traction' in the spotlight and has received 'lukewarm reception' when it comes to her recent projects - such as her 143 album which dropped last year. Teixeira later explained that Bloom 'is not trying to dominate headlines, but he's appearing at exactly the right places, looking relaxed, charismatic, and unburdened. 'The media is responding positively, capturing him enjoying life, socializing, even partying, which feeds into a well-worn but effective Hollywood archetype.' Chad added, 'He's now coming across as the effortlessly cool, slightly mysterious leading man who doesn't need to try too hard. 'In PR terms, this is a textbook soft rebrand, it's low on drama, high on visibility, and perfectly timed to capitalize on a shift in public sentiment...' Orlando was also spotted living single life as he headed to another lavish party on Sunday. He danced the night away following his recent split from former fiancée Katy Perry as a guest on the swanky superyacht alongside 450 other VIPs including likes of Naomi Campbell, Kendall Jenner, Sofia Vergara and Heidi Klum. Fresh from three days partying at Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez's Venice wedding extravaganza, Orlando headed on board Ritz-Carlton's gleaming 794ft Luminara for its inaugural cruise from Rome. On board, Orlando was spotted dancing behind a glam partygoer as they were treated to an intimate Ellie Goulding gig. Dressed in a Stüssy T-shirt, Orlando was in great spirits as he swayed to Ellie Goulding's stripped back rendition of I Need Your Love. Bloom was also recently spotted cozying up to Leonardo DiCaprio's girlfriend, Vittoria Ceretti, during a water taxi ride as they headed to the airport following the Amazon founder's wedding this past weekend. While enjoying the festivities, Orlando and his buddy Tom Brady were seen enjoying a stroll through Venice with newly single Sydney Sweeney, 27, who may have been the real belle of the ball. Sweeney, who confirmed her split from fiancé Jonathan Davino earlier this year, allegedly wowed guests with her 'down to Earth' and 'fun' personality, in addition to her stunning looks. A source told MailOnline: 'Sydney apparently is the most sought-after person to be around at the Bezos wedding. 'Everyone wants to talk to her and every guy that has been in her presence has talked about how stunning she is in real life.' The Pirates Of The Caribbean star also seemed to enjoy some flirty exchanges with Kim Kardashian, 44, and her sister Khloe, 41. He was also spotted in a cab with a woman later revealed to be Jamie Mizrahi, 36, who was actually a former stylist for his ex-Katy and Meghan Markle. TMZ reported that Orlando was seen partying following the Bezos-Sanchez reception at the Gritti Palace until the wee hours of the morning with Sweeney, Tom Brady and members of the Kardashian family. The actor first sparked up a romance with Perry in early 2016 - and he later popped the big question in 2019. They welcomed their daughter Daisy in 2020. Bloom was previously
