Tottenham boss Thomas Frank breaks Mikey Moore to Rangers transfer silence
Gers want to bring the talented teen north of the border on loan Tottenham boss Thomas Frank has confirmed his desire for teenage star Mikey Moore to go out on loan this season - with Rangers poised to land the England youth international. Moore, 17, burst onto the scene under previous boss Ange Postecoglou and has has already racked up 21 first team outings for Spurs, scoring once. His strike in 3-0 Europa League victory over Elfsborg back in April broke a 68 year-long record set by Jimmy Greaves back in 1957 as the the youngest English goal scorer in European competition and set the London side on their way to glory in the final against Manchester United. Moore is wanted by Rangers manager Russell Martin, who is continuing his overhaul of the squad at Ibrox, having already brought in seven new faces. The youngster has not travelled with Tottenham for their pre-season tour in Hong Kong and Frank has now revealed the club will allow Moore to leave on loan if a deal that works for all parties can be agreed. Asked during a press conference in Hong Kong, about Moore getting more minutes under his belt this season, he said: "I think it's very important. "Mikey is a big talent, I'm really excited about his future here at Tottenham. "I think for all players, but especially the younger players, they need to get that first-team consistent football into their bodies. "If we can find the right option, we'll do that." Where Moore to make the move north of the border, then he would join teammate Alfie Dorrington in leaving Spurs for the Premiership. Centre back Dorrington has returned to Aberdeen on loan after helping Jimmy Thelin's side lift the Scottish Cup for the first time since 1990 in the second half of last season. July 29 (Reuters) - Union Pacific (UNP.N), opens new tab said on Tuesday it would buy smaller rival Norfolk Southern (NSC.N), opens new tab in an $85-billion deal to create the country's first coast-to-coast freight rail operator. Such mergers have historically reshaped the rail map, consolidating regional carriers into some dominant networks, but often come under intense scrutiny from the Surface Transportation Board. Landmark mergers in the past - such as the creation of BNSF and between Union Pacific and Southern Pacific - have set the stage for today's concentrated rail network, often triggering both operational gains and regulatory pushback. Here are some of the largest railroad deals in the past three decades:
