Former Blackburn Rovers star completes second move after Ewood Park exit
Rothwell departed Ewood Park on a free transfer in the summer of 2022, joining Bournemouth. After starting strong and featuring regularly in the Premier League, he's spent the last 18 months on loan in the Championship.

He will reunite with Russell Martin in Glasgow, who had him for a six-month spell at Southampton in 2023/24. Last season, he won the title with Leeds United.
With one year left on his deal, it was always likely he'd leave Bournemouth permanently this summer. The 30-year-old has penned a three-year deal with Rangers and was delighted to get the move confirmed.

"The size of the club speaks for itself and, as soon as the interest was there, it was an immediate yes from me," he said.
"With Russell coming in too, it made that decision a little bit easier because working with him in the past and I know what type of guy he is and how he wants to do things. That was an even bigger pull for me.

"As a man, he's one of the best I have been around. He puts the players first and tactically, he's brilliant. I am excited to work with him again.
"He knows what I can do. If I can come and add some experience to help the team, that's what I want to do. I hope I can add that and make sure we win things.
"I'm delighted to get it over the line. It doesn't take much selling."
Martin said: "He is a player who we thoroughly enjoyed working with during my time at Southampton.
"His leadership, professionalism and quality were a huge asset. He is joining on the back of two promotions so helps bring a real winning mentality to the group.
"We are excited for Joe to join the squad, get to know his teammates, and help make the group stronger."

Emma Raducanu reminded the tennis world what a special talent she is before her Wimbledon hopes were ended with a narrow loss to world number one Aryna Sabalenka. The 22-year-old played some electrifying tennis under the roof on Centre Court but was unable to apply the finishing touches, eventually going down 7-6 (6) 6-4 after exactly two hours. She had the top seed under pressure again in the fifth game, bringing up three more break points and taking the third when Sabalenka netted a backhand. That was greeted by a huge roar from the packed stands, but Raducanu then made her first missteps serving at 4-3 to hand the advantage back amid a run of eight points in a row for Sabalenka. It seemed impossible for it not to be a key moment, and Sabalenka had a face of thunder after watching two Raducanu passing shots fly beyond her reach. Concern replaced cheers when Raducanu suffered a nasty slip in retrieving a short ball, briefly staying down clutching her left hip before gingerly getting to her feet. It did not stop her creating two break points, though, and Sabalenka overhit a backhand to leave her opponent serving for the set. Advertisement But Sabalenka saved it in style with a drop shot before finally taking her eighth opportunity, this time making no mistake at the net. It was important for Raducanu to recover from the disappointment quickly, and she did, producing two strong holds of serve and taking advantage of a dip from Sabalenka to move 4-1 ahead in the second set. Sabalenka has been far and away the best player in the world over the last year but suddenly she was struggling to live with Raducanu, who played a series of sublime points to create a chance to win a fourth game in a row only to just miss with a forehand. Had she taken it, a deciding set was most certainly on the cards, but Sabalenka, who is the only top-six seed left in the tournament, barged the door wide open and charged through it, reeling off five games in a row.

Former Arsenal midfielder Thomas Partey charged with 5 counts of rape

Three different women are involved in the charges. Two counts of rape are related to one woman. Three counts of rape were reported by a different woman. The one charge of sexual assault comes from a third woman. Advertisement All the alleged incidents reportedly took place between 2021 and 2022, while Partey was a member of Arsenal. Police opened an investigation into Partey in February 2022, after police received the first report of rape. Partey's lawyer, Jenny Wiltshire, said the midfielder "denies all the charges" and "welcomes the opportunity to finally clear his name," per The Independent. Wiltshire added Partey has cooperated with police throughout their investigation. Partey's contract with Arsenal expired Monday, and the 32-year-old was reportedly fielding offers from Juventus, Barcelona and Fenerbahce, per Sky News. He spent five years with Arsenal after joining the team on a £45.3m deal. He scored nine goals in 109 starts with the team. Prior to joining Arsenal ahead of the 2020-21 season, Partey played for Atlético Madrid. He was also loaned to Mallorca and Almería during his tenure with Atlético Madrid. Partey has also starred with the Ghanian national team since 2016. Partey is set to appear at Westminster Magistrates' Court on Aug. 5.
