Tampa Alonso's impressive run through the 4A Florida bracket ended with a tough one-point win over top-5 power Wellington. With the Ravens' victory, the state champs leapfrogged No. 2 Seminole Ridge, which also took home hardware in the 3A final.

One of the most significant moves of the week, though, came out of Tennessee, where Ravenwood knocked off nationally ranked Stone Memorial. The Raptors snapped the Panthers' impressive 11-game winning streak with a 34-14 victory, giving the Brentwood squad the state invitational title while moving them into the top 25.
And the movement didn't stop there. Two more teams jumped into the bottom half of the rankings, which included an undefeated New York team making a strong push up the flag football hierarchy.
Super 25 flag football selection process
In partnership with the NFL, the teams are determined by a USA TODAY Network selection committee of editors and writers in the participating states and the USA TODAY High School Sports staff.

The process considers factors ranging from last year's results based on NFHS Network data, carryover into this season, and a primary focus on 2024 records and overall performance.

Manager Xabi Alonso sees the pivot position to be one where the squad lacks a natural ball player and a controlling presence. As it stands, Aurelien Tchouameni is the only natural profile in the position and is thus expected to have a big role in the new season. Real Madrid's tactics in the FIFA Club World Cup spoke volumes about the importance of the defensive midfield position in Alonso's plans as Tchouameni served as the focal point in the buildup and effectively a third centre-back.
