Pakistan will have to sacrifice executioners of oppression who are threat not only to humanity but also to Islam: Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi after Eid al-Adha prayer
Speaking to reporters after offering Namaz at Imamia Hall, Shia Jama Masjid, Naqvi said that everyone should respect the government's guidelines and ensure that the spirit of unity and brotherhood is maintained across the country.
'Everyone should respect the government guidelines and we should all take care that the thread of harmony and brotherhood does not weaken from anywhere. Best wishes to all countrymen on the occasion of Eid al Adha...' Naqvi said.
Speaking on Operation Sindoor, which has completed one month, the BJP leader said, 'Pakistan, which is the territory of terrorism, will have to sacrifice the executioners of oppression and crime. It will have to be completely wiped out because these people are a threat not only to humanity but also to Islam. The country will never accept those who are playing the role of stooges of Pakistan...'
Earlier in the day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi also extended Eid greetings to the people. In his X post, PM Modi said, 'Best wishes on Eid ul-Adha. May this occasion inspire harmony and strengthen the fabric of peace in our society. Wishing everyone good health and prosperity.'
Union Minister Kiren Rijiju conveyed his wishes, posting his greeting in Urdu. 'Happy Eid al-Adha! Heartfelt congratulations to all Muslim brothers and sisters on the occasion of Eid al-Adha,' he wrote.
As people across the country celebrate Eid, multiple dargahs and mosques were filled with people offering prayers early in the morning. In Mumbai, people offered Namaz at the Jama Masjid Mahim Dargah, while in Delhi, at the first light of dawn, people turned to the Jama masjid to offer their prayers. (ANI)

SGPC plans to send Sikh pilgrims to Pakistan in November for Guru Nanak Jayanti despite diplomatic tensions
Despite the tensions between India and Pakistan following Operation Sindoor and the suspension of the Shimla Agreement, the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) Thursday announced plans to send a jatha (group) of Sikh pilgrims to Pakistan in November to mark the birth anniversary of Guru Nanak, the founder of Sikhism. In a statement, SGPC Secretary Partap Singh said, 'As in previous years, SGPC will send a jatha for the occasion of Sri Guru Nanak Dev's Parkash Gurpurb to visit various historical Gurdwaras in Pakistan.' He added that devotees wishing to join the pilgrimage must submit their passports and a recommendation from the SGPC member in the area to the SGPC's yatra department by August 4. The pilgrimage includes visits to Gurdwara Janam Asthan Sri Nankana Sahib, the birthplace of Guru Nanak Dev, and other sites of religious significance in Pakistan. The arrangements fall under a longstanding framework based on the 1972 Shimla Agreement, which permits Sikh pilgrims to visit Pakistani Gurdwaras four times a year. Partap Singh said, 'Along with the passport, devotees must include a photocopy of an identity proof such as an Aadhaar card or Voter ID.' He appealed to the devotees to complete their documentation in a timely manner to facilitate visa processing. Under the existing pilgrimage arrangement, up to 3,000 Indian Sikh pilgrims are permitted to travel to Pakistan for the birth anniversary of Guru Nanak. The agreement allows 1,000 pilgrims for the martyrdom day of Guru Arjan and 500 for the death anniversary of Maharaja Ranjit Singh. SGPC had earlier decided not to send a jatha to Pakistan in June for the death anniversary of Maharaja Ranjit Singh, founder of the Sikh Empire. That decision followed heightened diplomatic strains, including Pakistan's suspension of the Shimla Agreement in late April after India withdrew from the Indus Waters Treaty. India launched Operation Sindoor on May 7, targeting terror infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK), in response to the Pahalgam terror attack in Kashmir in which 26 people were killed on April 22. It escalated into military conflict between India and Pakistan until a ceasefire was declared on May 10.

Those who target Indians will face tough consequences, warns Amit Shah
Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Thursday said a strong message has gone out to the world that no one should mess with India's citizens, its borders or its defence forces, and those who do so will have to face consequences. Referring to Operation Sindoor carried out to destroy terrorist camps in Pakistan after the Pahalgam terrorist attack, Shah said Prime Minister Narendra Modi has done the biggest job of securing the country. During Congress rule, the country had to face terror attacks almost every day. "When the Uri attack occurred, Modi took decisive action and a surgical strike was carried out. Following the Pulwama attack, an airstrike was done. And when an attack took place in Pahalgam, Operation Sindoor was launched, targeting terrorists within Pakistan and eliminating them," he said. Shah, who is also minister for cooperation, was here to attend an event on the occasion of International Cooperatives Year-2025. "Modi's actions sent a strong message globally. Through them, Modi conveyed a powerful message to the world that India's citizens, armed forces, and borders should not be messed with. Anyone who dares to do so has to face consequences," he said. Modi, he added, has turned the vision of a prosperous, secure and developed India into reality. Under Modi's leadership, the country has become fourth largest economy in the world and 22 crore people were lifted above the poverty line, the Union minister told the gathering. Praising Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma, he said the BJP government in Rajasthan had done remarkable work in a short period of time. "Rajasthan was suffering due to paper leaks. By forming an SIT, the Bhajanlal government has sent a strong message to the paper leak mafia," he said. Under Sharma's leadership, Rajasthan signed MoUs worth Rs 35 lakh crore during an investment summit and work has already commenced on MoUs worth Rs 3 lakh crore, Shah said. The BJP government in the state decreased VAT on petrol and diesel and several other initiatives were taken, he went on to say. He also praised the state government for effectively implementing schemes and programmes of the central government. Shah lauded the contributions made by the cooperative sector in the country's development over the last century and said that the next 100 years are the years of cooperatives. "With the vision of reaching every corner of the nation, Modi established a Ministry of Cooperation at the central level. Today, cooperatives play an active role in 98 per cent of rural areas," he said. Highlighting the sector's contribution to the economy, he said the ministry launched 61 initiatives in the last four years to strengthen the sector. "The creation of two lakh new PACS (primary agricultural credit societies) has already started with 40,000 PACS already set up. We have completed the computerization of PACS and all states have accepted the new model bylaws for PACS," he said. He also spoke of Rajasthan's agricultural contributions. The minister said the government has initiated research on camel breed preservation and medicinal qualities of camel milk. "This will ensure the long-term survival of camels in the coming years," he said. Chief Minister Sharma also highlighted the works and achievements of his government. "We are working to ensure that the benefits of cooperatives reach our people. Under Modi's leadership, we have a plan that every beneficiary, whether it is the Centre or the State, should get its benefits," he said. During his visit, Shah inaugurated 24 food grain storage warehouses and 64 millet outlets virtually and also visited an exhibition of cooperative products. Among those present at the event were Union minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, Deputy Chief Ministers Prem Chand Bairwa and Diya Kumari, and former chief minister Vasundhara Raje.
