All-time series: AL leads 48-44-2
After the NL picked up a 3-2 win at T-Mobile Park in Seattle in 2023, snapping a 9-game skid in the midsummer classic, the AL restored order last season with a 5-3 victory at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas, as Boston Red Sox OF Jarren Duran earned Most Valuable Player (MVP) honors.
Despite the loss in 2023, the AL has posted a dominant 22-4-1 record in the previous 27 All-Star Games since 1997.
This is the first All-Star Game at Truist Park, but it's the third time the city of Atlanta has hosted. In 1972, the All-Stars clashed at Atlanta Stadium, later referred to as Atlanta-Fulton County Stadium. The NL won 4-3 in 10 innings in that game, with Cincinnati's Joe Morgan hitting a walk-off RBI single and winning the MVP award. In 2000, the AL won 6-3 at Turner Field as Derek Jeter of the New York Yankees took home the MVP trophy.

Skenes (4-8, MLB-best 2.01 ERA) makes his second straight All-Star start and second appearance. The right-hander has a 0.93 WHIP, 2.2 BB/9, 9.7 K/9 in 20 games (also 121 innings).

The AL (-115) is worth playing lightly as it has just dominated the All-Star Game in each of the past 3 decades. While this game is in Atlanta, the AL won't be fazed. The AL has the MLB leader in homers (38) and the 2025 Home Run Derby champion in Seattle C Cal Raleigh batting cleanup, just behind New York Yankees OF Aaron Judge (35 HRs).
The NL has a crazy lineup, too, but it will have a ton of trouble against the southpaw Skubal and a stacked AL pitching staff, which includes Boston Red Sox LHP Garrett Crochet (2.23 ERA). He leads Skubal by percentage points for the AL's top ERA. The staff also includes Texas Rangers RHP Jacob deGrom, who owns the fourth-best ERA in the majors at 2.32. Toss in Houston Astros RHP Hunter Brown (2.43), New York Yankees LHP Max Fried (2.43) and Kansas City Royals LHP Kris Bubic (2.48), and the runs will be at a premium for the Senior Circuit.
Run line/Against the spread
This should be a tight game, and NL +1.5 (-190) is just a little too expensive as you must risk almost 2 times the potential return.

After a rough start to the season, a 5.52 ERA in 14.2 innings, Bednar has thrown 15 shutout innings with a 20-4 K-BB ratio and just six hits allowed since May 24. Santana is the more cost-effective option, but Bednar's closing experience could make him an ideal fit for Philadelphia. Specifically, Philadelphia is targeting talent that comes with multiple years of club control.
