Rajasthan Deputy Commandant Recruitment 2025: Many ineligible candidates applying, says RPSC
According to RPSC Secretary Ram Niwas Mehta, many applicants did not meet the essential eligibility criteria, yet they submitted their applications. In light of this, the Commission is preparing to initiate strict action against such ineligible candidates, he added.
The recruitment body stated that such applicants have been asked to withdraw their applications between May 13 and May 28.
Meanwhile, former Indian Administrative Service (IAS) trainee Puja Khedkar appeared before the Crime Branch at Kamla Market in Delhi last week for questioning related to an FIR filed against her for allegedly submitting forged certificates to clear her 2022 Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) exam.
Speaking to ANI, Khedkar said, "As per the Supreme Court orders, I have come here to cooperate in the investigation. I said it since day one that in whatever way possible, I am ready to cooperate. All the allegations against me that I have submitted fake certificates are false. I have been and I will be in India - whatever people are saying that I have fled to another country is wrong."
Earlier, the bench adjourned the hearing of the case as her counsel told the bench that a counter-affidavit had been filed on her behalf, but it was not showing on the court's record.
The top court asked the Delhi police to complete the probe fast and asked why it was not completing the investigation when Khedkar herself had said it in an affidavit that she was willing to cooperate.
Khedkar is accused of fraudulently availing a reservation meant for Other Backwards Classes (OBC) and Persons with Benchmark Disabilities in order to secure a seat by taking the UPSC exam.

Jaipur: Rajasthan High Court Thursday lifted the ban on interviews for Sanskrit Assistant Professor Recruitment-2024, asserting that the selection process should restart based on old rules, requiring candidates to obtain 40% in each written exam. The division bench of Chief Justice MM Srivastava and Justice Chandra Prakash Shrimali issued the order while hearing a petition filed by Manoj Kumar and others in which the state and RPSC pleaded for the ban on interviews to be lifted. Telangana Public Service Commission defends decision to conduct Group-I Mains before high court, denies any procedural violations
Hyderabad: The Telangana Public Service Commission (TGPSC) on Thursday defended the conduct and evaluation of the Group-I Mains examination, asserting before Justice Namavarapu Rajeshwar Rao of the high court that there was no mala fide intent or violation of statutory procedures, as alleged by the petitioners challenging the examination process. Representing the commission, its counsel argued that the examination was conducted transparently and in strict adherence to established procedures. He urged the court to consider the far-reaching consequences of annulling the examination in the absence of concrete evidence. 'The process was transparent. A significant number of qualified candidates belong to OBC, SC, ST, women, and physically challenged categories. Cancelling the examination on vague and unsubstantiated grounds would deal a severe blow to hundreds of aspirants who have invested years of preparation,' he submitted. The counsel further stated that the petitioners had failed to make specific or substantiated allegations. 'Except for a solitary writ petition containing a vague assertion, no petitioner has produced credible evidence of malfeasance. There are no claims of mala fides, no breach of statutory rules, and no indication that either the examination centres or the evaluation process was compromised,' he argued. He emphasised that the evaluation was conducted anonymously and randomly, using expert evaluators trained specifically for this exam. He denied allegations of selective evaluation or manipulation in the allotment of answer scripts. Addressing concerns raised about Telugu medium candidates, the commission clarified that evaluators proficient in both English and Telugu were appointed, and hence, the assessment was fair and unbiased. Regarding impersonation concerns, the commission submitted that biometric verification of candidates was conducted and cross-checked with nominal rolls approved by the chief superintendents at the respective centres. The high court is scheduled to continue hearing the matter on Friday.

Rajeev Kumar Sharma takes charge as Rajasthan DGP in Jaipur
Senior Indian Police Service (IPS) officer Rajeev Kumar Sharma took charge as the Director General of Police (DGP) of Rajasthan in Jaipur on Thursday (July 3, 2025), succeeding former DGP Utkal Ranjan Sahoo, who took voluntary retirement after being appointed chairman of the State Public Service Commission. Anti-Corruption Bureau's (ACB) DG Ravi Prakash Meharda, who was given additional charge of the State DGP after Mr. Sahoo's exit, retired on June 30. Mr. Sharma was earlier on the Central deputation, serving as Director General of the Bureau of Police Research and Development, New Delhi. Mr. Sharma, an IPS officer of the Rajasthan cadre, arrived at the Police Headquarters in Jaipur on Thursday (July 3, 2025) after being relieved by the Centre following a formal request sent by the State government earlier this week. The Department of Personnel has issued an order for his appointment for a period of two years. The appointment was made on the basis of a recommendation made by the empanelment committee, which was formed by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC). The State government had submitted a panel of seven DGP-rank IPS officers, in the order of seniority, for consideration by the UPSC. Mr. Sharma said after assuming office that he would concentrate on taking forward the 'glorious traditions' of Rajasthan police and make Rajasthan a model State in policing for the entire country. 'The police team of the State will work with promptness, sensitivity and collaboration to ensure safety and security for all. Every police station will be people-friendly,' he said. Hailing from Uttar Pradesh's Mathura, Mr. Sharma earlier held several key positions in Rajasthan, including the ACB DG, State Disaster Response Force DG and Director of the Rajasthan Police Academy. He also served as Superintendent of Police in several districts. He was awarded the President's Police Medal in 2014.
