Minister distributes agricultural equipment
The minister, along with AP Maritime Board chairman Damacharla Sathyanarayana, distributed agricultural mechanisation equipment, Kisan Drones with an 80 per cent subsidy, and subsidised seeds to farmers at Surareddy Palem in Tanguturu mandal.
Speaking at the event, Minister Swamy stated that making agriculture profitable is the primary objective of Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu. He said that the state government is distributing agricultural equipment to farmers across the state with an investment of Rs 100 crore. He said that agricultural mechanisation equipment worth Rs 3.98 crore is being provided in the district.
The minister advised the farmers that they should utilise the government's encouragement to achieve higher yields at lower costs through new technology and agricultural mechanisation. He emphasised that the state government is taking steps to establish 800 village-level Kisan unions across the state to provide drones to farmers. He criticised the previous government for dedicating the incomplete Veligonda project to the nation, thereby deceiving the district people, and assured that only the coalition government will complete the Veligonda project.
Responding to the local issues, the minister said that proposals worth Rs 450 crore have been sent to provide drinking water to villages in the region from Ramatheertham Reservoir. Meanwhile, filters will be installed to supply safe drinking water from the pond.
The programme was attended by District Agriculture Officer Srinivasa Rao, Sarpanch Sailaja, mandal agriculture officials, mandal public representatives, farmer beneficiaries, and community members.

LUCKNOW: Prateek Yadav, step brother of former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister and Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav and husband of BJP leader Aparna Yadav, has alleged that he was duped to the tune of over Rs 4 crore by a real estate businessman. Prateek, in a complaint lodged at Gautampalli police station in Lucknow, on Sunday, alleged that he was cheated by one Krishnanand Pandey, a resident of Chinhat, who deals in real estate. Prateek named Krishnanand Pandey, his wife Vandana Pandey and father Ashok Pandey in the complaint following which an FIR has been lodged against the three under the relevant sections of BNS pertaining to extortion, cheating and IT Act. Krishnanand had formed a real estate company and allegedly cheated Prateek on the pretext of investing his money in the firm. As per theComplaint, when Prateek asked for his money, Krishnanand threatened him with getting him implicated in a fake POSCO case and making a fake audio viral. Notably, Patek Yadav's wife Aparna Yadav is a BJP leader and is currently holding the position of the Vice- President of state women's commission. Prateek allegedly mentioned in his complaint that Krishnanand Pandey had also demanded Rs 5 crore more from him. The sources claimed that Prateek, the son of SP patriarch late Mulayam Singh Yadav's second wife Sadhna Gupta, told the cops that he came in contact with Krishnanand Pandey in 2012 when the latter had come up with a business proposal of buying prime land along Shaheed Path. Krishnanand and his associate US Bisht then formed a company in 2015 in which both of them were directors.

Mizoram decides to collect biometrics, biographic data of Myanmar refugees
Guwahati: The Mizoram government has decided to collect biometrics and biographic data of Myanmar refugees taking shelter in the northeastern state after a military coup in the neighboring country in February 2021. Earlier, Manipur had carried out this exercise. A Mizoram Home Department official, who did not want to be named, told ET, 'Towards the end of July, the work of collecting biometric and demographic data of around 35,000 Myanmar refugees would start. The biometric exercise would be conducted using the Foreigner Identification Portal and would be carried out in all 11 districts of the state." He added, 'Around Rs 38 lakh was earmarked for the exercise, and the expenditure would be borne by the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA). Training of the government staff to conduct the exercise has almost been completed in all the districts." The MHA had earlier asked both the Manipur and Mizoram governments to capture biographic and biometric details of "illegal migrants" in the two states and complete the process at the earliest. Both northeastern states had earlier agreed to undertake the collection of biometrics and biographic data of Myanmar nationals. The former Mizo National Front government in Mizoram was reluctant to collect the biometrics and biographic data of Myanmar refugees. The incumbent Zoram People's Movement (ZPM) government, led by Chief Minister Lalduhoma, had earlier agreed to conduct the exercise. After a military coup in Myanmar in February 2021, refugees, including women and children from the neighboring country, started coming to Mizoram and Manipur seeking shelter in the two Indian states, and now their numbers in Mizoram have increased to around 35,000. According to Home Department officials, the maximum number of Myanmar refugees are currently taking shelter in Champhai district. Myanmar's Chin state shares mountainous borders with six Mizoram districts—Champhai, Siaha, Lawngtlai, Hnahthial, Saitual, and Serchhip. Recently, a fresh batch of refugees has started coming since July 2. Gun battles have erupted between the Chin National Defence Force and the Chinland Defence Force-Hualngoram over control of Chin state in Myanmar. A senior official, who does not want to be named, said that around 3,000 to 4,000 refugees had come since the fighting started on July 2. 'They are being provided with food, water, and shelter.' Refugees are coming to Zokhawthar and Saikhumphai Village, bordering Myanmar in Champhai district.
