Naidu meets Singapore minister, discusses green energy, data centre development
During the meeting, the Chief Minister highlighted Andhra Pradesh's major initiatives in green energy and sought greater cooperation from Singaporean firms in projects related to green hydrogen, transmission corridors, and port development.
According to the Chief Minister's Office, Naidu emphasised the need for Singapore's participation in establishing data centres and elaborated on the state's rapid expansion of its port infrastructure.
Recognising Singapore's global strength in logistics, he called for its support in implementing best practices in the ports and logistics sectors in Andhra Pradesh. He also underscored the importance of Singapore's involvement in human resources, science and technology, and trade collaboration.
Addressing concerns faced by Singaporean companies during the previous administration, the Chief Minister assured Minister Tan that measures are being taken to resolve those issues and that his visit reflects a commitment to transparency and rectification. He remarked that his government is investment-friendly and deeply values its relationship with Singapore.
Recollecting past initiatives, CM Naidu cited the development of Singapore Township in Hyderabad during his earlier tenure as a symbol of admiration for Singapore's planning and efficiency. He also noted that Hyderabad once adopted nighttime street-cleaning inspired by practices observed in Singapore.
To further the partnership, the Chief Minister extended a formal invitation to Minister Tan to attend the upcoming Global Investors Summit scheduled for November in Visakhapatnam.
In response, Minister Tan expressed Singapore's keen interest in working with Andhra Pradesh in the fields of housing and subsea cables. He affirmed that both sides could jointly pursue initiatives in these areas. The Minister also mentioned Singapore's ongoing collaboration with the World Bank on green energy and housing-related programmes.
Recalling his previous visit to Hyderabad and his earlier meeting with CM Naidu, Minister Tan expressed optimism about deepening bilateral cooperation.
The meeting was attended by Andhra Pradesh Ministers Nara Lokesh, P. Narayana, and T.G. Bharat, along with senior officials from the state government.

Chennai's Nasi and Mee gears up to celebrate Singapore with a special menu
Be it a comfort meal or complex flavours, Singaporean cuisine has much to pick from. When Nasi and Mee opened its first branch in Chennai in 2017, the restaurant was among the earliest in the city to have many Singaporean dishes on the menu, which included dishes from Malaysia, Japan and Indonesia as well. It is only befitting that the restaurant will now celebrate Singapore with 'The Singapore Edit', a special menu. As a part of Singa60, Nasi and Mee in Nungambakkam and OMR will have a special à la carte menu of both old favourites from their menu and new dishes from August 1 to 10. Organised by Hindu Tamil Thisai in collaboration with The Hindu and Business Line, Singa60 offers a rich tapestry of events showcasing vibrant partnerships between India and Singapore through curated programmes centred on commerce, culture, and cuisine. Sadesh Babu, head chef, who has been with the restaurant for the last three years says that they have picked dishes that are authentic and unique for the special menu. 'Similar to the xiao long baos of the famous restaurant chain Din Tai Fung, we have soupy, flavourful baos as well as dim sum. A satay platter — with both a Malaysian satay, which is less spicy, and a sambal satay, which has a bolder flavour as well as cereal prawns and cereal tofu — will be among the appetiser options,' he says. The main course options include Nasi and Mee's Singapore chicken rice, which comes with sous vide chicken, chicken broth and bok choy. 'This is our take on Singapore's unofficial national dish, the Hainanese chicken rice. It has been on the Nasi and Mee menu for years now and has always been a favourite,'Sadesh says. There's also hawker stall favourite char kway teow, which is stir fried noodles with eggs and meat and some Malaysian representation through the nasi lemak. Among the new dishes for this menu are jumbo prawns in a creamy butter sauce. 'There are several similarities between Singaporean cuisine and food here in Tamil Nadu which diners seem to appreciate and enjoy. Our Singaporean dishes also have balachan or fermented shrimp or prawn paste in some dishes for the added flavour which makes a difference,' Sadesh says. For dessert, there is iced milo of course, but also ice kachang, a shaved ice dessert with jelly, sweet syrups and water chestnuts instead of red beans to appeal to the palate here. Chandrababu holds teleconference with party leaders, urges to promote welfare schemes
Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has announced that the coalition government will deposit ₹20,000 into the accounts of farmers along with the support provided by the Central government. During a teleconference with party MLAs, ministers, MPs, MLCs, and coordinators, the CM reiterated the launch of two key welfare schemes — Annadata Sukhibhav and free bus travel for women — both of which will be implemented this month. He called on party leaders and activists to actively participate in and promote these initiatives among the public. YSRCP chief Jagan likens AP situation to ‘Emergency'; says heavy police deployment is to suppress dissent
NELLORE: YSRCP President and former Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy on Thursday launched a scathing attack on the ruling TDP-led NDA government, likening the political situation in the State to an 'Emergency' under the 'Red Book Constitution'. During his Nellore visit, Jagan met former minister Kakani Govardhan Reddy at the Nellore Central Jail. Later, he visited the residence of former MLA Prasanna Kumar Reddy to express solidarity with his family following a recent alleged attack. Addressing the media at Sujathamma colony, Jagan accused the ruling TDP of resorting to undemocratic measures. 'Why are thousands of police officers deployed, not for law and order, but to suppress my supporters?' he questioned. He accused Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu of political vendetta. Accusing the TDP of running an illegal liquor mafia, the YSRCP chief alleged that liquor is being sold at inflated rates from 'unauthorised rooms' under the coalition government, and commissions are being pocketed by Naidu and his MLAs. The former chief minister also alleged large-scale illegal mining of silica and quartz, with kickbacks going to Naidu and his son Lokesh. To monitor the crowd and ensure law and order, the district police deployed 157 CCTV cameras, 14 drones, a special surveillance drone from Tirupati, and mobile camera units.
