Lee Byung-hun has the honour of dominating Netflix's global charts. Not only is his Squid Game: Season 3 No. 1 on the streamer's Global Top 10 non-English shows list, animation KPop Demon Hunters – in which Lee is the antagonist as well – also holds on to its pole position on the Global Top 10 English movies chart.
Rumi (Arden Cho), Mira (May Hong) and Zoey (Yoo Ji-young) are members of K-pop girl group Huntrix, whose concerts double as supernatural missions where they use their music to protect the human world from demonic forces.
Their biggest threat Gwi-ma (Lee), a spirit king who preys on human souls, sends his demons to defeat the hunters in the form of a boy band, the Saja Boys, fronted by Jinu (Ahn Hyo-seop from K-drama Business Proposal (2022).
The beautifully animated film packs in a lot of drama, action and characterisation. Huntrix are said to be inspired by K-pop girl groups Blackpink, Twice and Itzy, while boy bands BTS, Stray Kids and BigBang serve as inspiration for the Saja Boys.
Its groovy soundtrack – featuring catchy tunes like Golden, Takedown and Soda Pop – has gone viral, scoring the No. 8 spot on the Billboard 200 chart, making it the highest debuting soundtrack of 2025. It also entered at No. 1 on the Billboard Soundtracks chart.

Those who have followed Squid Game since its premiere in 2021 will have burning questions, such as how the games were created and how In-ho (Lee Byung-hun) became the Frontman, the host of the vicious games.
The hyperviolent thriller follows 456 contestants in a deadly underground contest where they play macabre versions of children's games until one player remains standing. The sole survivor wins a massive jackpot .
Season 3 follows the aftermath of Player 456 Seong Gi-hun's (Lee Jung-jae) failed revolt, where he is forced to continue playing the games while bearing the guilt of causing the death of his best friend.
The shock factor – what the show is known for – is evident, especially in Episode 2, which involves a cruel hide-and-seek game. All hell breaks loose when the Frontman introduces a new player to the competition.
The production value is top-notch and actors Lee Byung-hun, Park Sung-hoon (Player 120), Kang Ae-shim (Player 149), Jo Yu-ri (Player 222) and Im Si-wan (Player 333) are excellent.
However, with only six episodes to conclude the saga, the pacing is uneven. While some key moments feel rushed, there is too much screen time devoted to the useless Detective Hwang Jun-ho (Wi Ha-joon). The subplot involving Pink Guard 011 (Park Gyu-young) was also overly long.
While there is some form of closure, do not expect the third season to tie up all the loose ends. The closing scene is an eye-opener and perhaps a hint to where Squid Game is heading.

Fancy having 'face genius' Cha Eun-woo just 10cm from you? The South Korean actor-singer, who will enlist in the military on July 28, invites his fans to go on an immersive and intimate virtual-reality (VR) journey with him.
Set against a romantic fantasy backdrop, viewers are issued individual VR headsets, which they can use to personalise their concert experience, from the locations and backgrounds to images and choreography. As lead characters in the concert, they also determine the ending they desire.
Produced and powered by VR concert platform company Amaze, the visuals are rendered with near-photorealistic detail, so it is like seeing Cha in person.
The special VR concert will run from July 31 to Aug 16 at GV Bugis+. Tickets are priced at $38 for Golden Village Movie Club members and $40 for non-members. Each ticket comes with a photo card and the first 300 viewers will also receive a limited-edition poster of Cha.
Tickets go on sale on July 4 at 3pm via Golden Village's website and app.

American space agency NASA is about to take a giant leap forward in how it shows its space exploration efforts to the world. Beginning in July 2025, the agency will provide the streaming service platform Netflix with live feeds of its missions—including rocket launches and astronauts floating around in space. "This partnership helps us to inspire the next generation—from their couch or phone." NASA+ was launched in 2023 to offer easier access to the agency's content. It is free, without ads, and it provides access to a wide range of on-demand science and space videos. But with this new partnership, NASA is making its largest leap yet to bring space to the people, leveraging Netflix's vast global reach. And from the agency's perspective, the move is about more than just getting views. It's about making science, technology, and the wonders of the cosmos accessible to everyone—not just to commercial space passengers—and doing it in real time. The deal is another step into a field that Netflix has been increasingly diving into, which is live broadcast. The live TV service now includes live sports, stand-up specials, and live French TV channels. By streaming NASA events, Netflix brings real-life space missions to its growing roster of live content.

Daisy Edgar-Jones will play the older sister, Elinor Dashwood, in the new Jane Austen adaptation. The story follows Elinor and Marianne Dashwood, two sisters who, upon the death of their father, find themselves suddenly destitute. Both then pursue love and financial security. When will Sense & Sensibility be released? There's no release date yet, but read on for everything we do know thus far. The details: It's Daisy Edgar-Jones's most high-profile big-screen project to date Yes, Twisters was big, but playing Elinor Dashwood, one of Jane Austen's most beloved heroines—previously brought to the big screen by double Oscar winner Emma Thompson, no less, who secured her second statuette for her adapted screenplay for Ang Lee's classic—somehow feels even bigger. The star of Normal People , Fresh , Under the Banner of Heaven , and Where the Crawdads Sing recently proved her acting chops on stage too, with her starring role as the ferocious Maggie in Cat on a Hot Tin Roof opposite Kingsley Ben-Adir's Brick, so we have no doubt that she'll soar. It's the somber older sister to Pride & Prejudice If Pride & Prejudice is a fizzy glass of champagne, Sense & Sensibility feels like a cosy cup of tea—its mood is more serious, sedate, and contemplative. The plot centers on the three Dashwood sisters—the eldest and most sensible, Elinor; the more free-spirited Marianne; and the much younger Margaret—who are devastated by the passing of their father. Along with their mother, they're left with only a small inheritance, with their father's grand estate instead falling into the hands of their half brother. Cast out, they move to a modest cottage, and Elinor and Marianne are drawn to a swirl of suitors: the older Colonel Brandon, the dashing John Willoughby, and the kindly Edward Ferrars. It's still unclear how faithful this new film adaptation will be (Netflix's Carrie Cracknell-directed, Dakota Johnson-led Persuasion , for instance, was freewheeling, to say the least), but it seems likely that it will at least echo the gentle and melancholy spirit of its Ang Lee-helmed predecessor. The women-led behind-the-camera team is incredibly impressive Georgia Oakley, the lauded filmmaker behind the BAFTA-nominated breakout Blue Jean , will be in the director's chair, marking a splashy follow-up to her widely respected debut, while Diana Reid, the author of Love & Virtue , Seeing Other People , and Signs of Damage , will adapt the novel—a pairing that raises our expectations even further. Julian McMahon dies aged 56, Entertainment News
Julian McMahon has died at the age of 56. The actor was best known for his roles in the hit medical drama series Nip/Tuck and the Fantastic Four films but on Friday (July 4), his wife Kelly announced that he had passed away following a private battle with cancer. In a statement given to Deadline, she said: "With an open heart, I wish to share with the world that my beloved husband, Julian McMahon, died peacefully this week after a valiant effort to overcome cancer. "Julian loved life. He loved his family. He loved his friends. He loved his work, and he loved his fans. His deepest wish was to bring joy into as many lives as possible. But Kelly insisted that she wants the fans of the FBI: Most Wanted star — who was briefly married to pop singer Dannii Minogue in the early 1990s and then went on to have 25-year-old Madison with Baywatch actress Brooke Burns — to continue to find "joy" in the work that her husband has left behind. She said: "We ask for support during this time to allow our family to grieve in privacy. And we wish for all of those to whom Julian brought joy, to continue to find joy in life. We are grateful for the memories." Julian made his film debut in the 1992 comedy Wet and Wild Summer! — which was also known as Exchange Lifeguards outside of the US — and went on to star in the likes of Magenta and Chasing Sleep as his career progressed. In later years, he became known to Marvel fans as Victor Von Doom or Dr Doom in the Fantastic Four series, and then appeared opposite Guy Pearce and Kylie Minogue in the 2018 comedy Swinging Safari. On television, he appeared in the soap operas The Power, The Passion and Home and Away in the late 1980s and early 1990s and then held the starring role of Detective John Grant on the legal drama Profiler. Julian - who was the son of former Australian Prime Minister Sir William McMahon — also starred on Charmed in the early 2000s, and made his final on-screen appearance as Stephen Roos, the Prime Minister of Australia, in the mystery series The Residence that was released on Netflix earlier this year.
