Trident And Democratic Republic Of Congo Sign Final Digital Identity Partnership And Launch Nationwide 'DRCPass' Deployment
SINGAPORE and KINSHASA, June 26 (Bernama) -- Trident Digital Tech Holdings Ltd. ('Trident' or the 'Company,' NASDAQ: TDTH), a Singapore-based catalyst for digital transformation and Web 3.0 activation, today announced that it has signed the definitive public-private partnership (PPP) agreement with the Government of the Democratic Republic of Congo ('DRC' or 'Republic'). The contract paves the way for nationwide deployment of 'DRCPass,' the Republic's robust national digital identification system, to be rolled out in phases with an accompanying public-education campaign.
The agreement represents the capstone of the collaboration framework established in December 2024 between Trident and the Office of the President, forming the cornerstone of the DRC's e-government and digital-identity initiative. Under the accord, Trident is the Republic's exclusive provider of electronic Know Your Customer ('e-KYC') services, delivering the Web 3.0-based national digital identity.

Austrian GP follows Miami in extending F1 contract to 2041
SPIELBERG: The Austrian Grand Prix at the Red Bull Ring will stay on the calendar through 2041 after announcing today a contract extension that equals Miami as the longest in Formula One. The current deal, last extended two years ago, ran to 2030. The circuit in Spielberg is owned by the Austrian energy drinks company that owns Red Bull Racing, and has Dutch four times world champion Max Verstappen as their star driver, and Italy-based Racing Bulls. Miami agreed a 10-year extension to 2041 last month. Behind them, Bahrain has a deal to 2036, Melbourne to 2035, Saudi Arabia and Qatar to at least 2032. "Austria has long been an incredibly special race for Formula One so it's fantastic we have secured the long-term future of a Grand Prix so deeply rooted in the sport's history," said Formula One chief executive Stefano Domenicali. Verstappen has won a record five times in Spielberg, a 4.3km circuit known for its picturesque backdrop and undulating layout. The late Red Bull founder Dietrich Mateschitz, whose son Mark is now at the helm, invested heavily in renovating the circuit. Labuan-KK express ferry draws strong response after three-year hiatus

To date, more than 3,700 commuters have used the direct sea route, with each trip operating at full capacity of over 100 passengers. The revival of the service, linking the duty-free island to Sabah's capital, has been hailed by federal authorities as a much-needed boost to regional connectivity. Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Federal Territories) Datuk Seri Dr Zaliha Mustafa described the ferry's return as a key development for Labuan's socio-economic growth. 'This express ferry is not just a transportation service — it is a vital connector for regional economic, social and development networks,' she said. Speaking to reporters at the Labuan International Ferry Terminal after welcoming passengers from Kota Kinabalu on Sunday, Dr Zaliha said the service facilitates community mobility, daily activities, and the transport of goods within local supply chains. She expressed satisfaction with the strong public reception, noting that the ferry is popular among a wide range of travellers commuting between the two cities. 'This route offers a more convenient and time-saving alternative to the roll-on/roll-off (Ro-Ro) ferry via Menumbok, especially for passengers without vehicles,' she said. While the Ro-Ro ferry is generally preferred for travel to nearby districts such as Menumbok, Kuala Penyu, or Beaufort, the express ferry provides a direct, faster option to Kota Kinabalu. Dr Zaliha also expressed hope that the operator would continue to enhance the service, including shortening travel time, to meet the growing demand.-Bernama
