New York Giants predicted to land OT Spencer Fano in way-too-early 2026 NFL mock draft
The New York Giants face a crucial upcoming season that brings a cloudy future.
After general manager Joe Schoen and head coach Brian Daboll were retained despite coming off a 3-14 season, there's no doubt both figures will be on the hot seat once the 2025 campaign begins.
Projecting what New York will do next offseason is difficult enough considering how much can change until then, and it's even more true given the chance that an entirely new regime could be taking over if Schoen and Daboll fail to deliver the necessary hope to keep their jobs.
With all that said, a recent way-too-early 2026 NFL mock draft from CBS Sports' Ryan Wilson has Big Blue going back to the offensive line, grabbing Utah offensive tackle Spencer Fano with the No. 4 overall pick.
Technician in both pass protection and against the run. Played in primarily zone scheme and fit it perfectly because of mix of athleticism and power. Technically sound run blocker who wins with power/balance.
If the Giants once again hold a selection in the top five of the draft order, it's fair to assume both Schoen and Daboll will be gone. The only saving grace in that situation would be if rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart showed some promise down the stretch of the season — even if it wouldn't result in winning games.
Fano is considered to be one of the top prospects in the upcoming class, along with Utah's other tackle Caleb Lomu. The former is entering his true junior season with the experience of playing both tackle spots throughout his collegiate career with the Utes.
Rated as the No. 14 overall prospect by Yahoo Sports' Nate Tice, Fano "is a springy athlete who can constantly stay on his feet, as well as with pass rushers and any post-snap movement, and he is also a strong finisher in the run game."
Per Pro Football Focus, Fano allowed 14 total pressures, including one sack and two quarterback hits, from the right tackle spot in 2024. With Jermaine Eluemunor entering the final year of his contract, the right tackle spot could be an enormous need for the Giants.
The 2026 NFL draft is still far in the back of the minds of the Giants front office but regardless of who is calling the shots at that point, Fano is a name to keep in mind.
Pro Football Network also previously mocked Fano to the Giants.

New York Giants training camp: 6 takeaways from Day 4
The New York Giants battled poor air quality and overcast skies on Sunday morning on Day 4 of their 2025 training camp. Regardless, they held practice outdoors. Here are some takeaways from Sunday's workout. Wilson is opening up the offense The Giants have been one of the NFL's least potent offenses the past two seasons. They signed veteran quarterback Russell Wilson, the NFL's most proficient deep thrower last year, to get their passing game back on track. It looks as if he's doing that after just one week. Wilson is going up top to all of his receivers these days, and his "moonball" has never looked better. "He looks 25 again" Not to make this all about Wilson, but he appears to be just what this sagging Giants offense needs. Not only is he reenergizing the passing game, but the 36-year-old is making plays with his legs, too. Holland the pirate Wilson didn't have his way with the Giants' secondary all day. They got their shots in as well. On this play, slot corner Dru Phillips deflects a Wilson pass into the hands of safety Jevon Holland, who returns it for a touchdown. The Giants' goal on defense this year is to focus on ball-hawking. So far, so good. Skattebo is gaining in popularity Looking for a player to root for this season? Look no further than rookie running back Cam Skattebo. He is a high-energy player who is already making his mark with the Giants as both a rusher and a receiver. The fans in attendance at camp are already taking to him. Abdul Carter is a menace The first full padded practice isn't until Monday, so we won't know exactly how good rookie linebacker Abdul Carter is. So far, he's been blowing by everyone. If he continues to do that when the hitting starts, the Giants have a monster in their midst. Dart's best day yet The Giants' other first-round pick, quarterback Jaxson Dart, is also heating up. On Sunday, he looked comfortable and in charge, hitting on several deep throws. This article originally appeared on Giants Wire: Giants training camp: 6 takeaways from Day 4

Cowboys sign tight end Jake Ferguson to a 4-year, $52 million extension
OXNARD, Calif. (AP) — The Dallas Cowboys signed tight end Jake Ferguson to a four-year, $52 million extension Sunday. The deal includes a $12 million signing bonus. A fourth-round pick in 2022, Ferguson is entering the final year of his rookie deal. He had 59 catches for 494 yards but did not have a touchdown reception last season. The previous year, he posted career highs with 71 catches for 761 yards and five TDs. Ferguson dealt with knee and concussion issues last year but still started 14 games. This deal comes as two-time All-Pro defensive end Micah Parsons remains in negotiations for his own extension, entering the final season of his rookie deal. Parsons said recently he had not seen much progress in those talks. ___ AP NFL:

Falcons owner Arthur Blank envisions one international game per team, per year
NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell has said the league wants to stage 16 international games per year. The simplest math leads to one inescapable conclusion. Every team would play an international game, every year. Via Sports Business Journal, Falcons owner Arthur Blank said during a Saturday appearance on NFL Network that an 'international game every year for every team' is 'probably on the horizon.' It makes senses. Even if certain teams will create far less excitement than others, it makes sense for every team to be expected to do it once per year, for competitive reasons. For now, the league is limited under the Collective Bargaining Agreement to a maximum of 10 international games per year. In the next labor deal, it's widely expected that the number will increase to 16. With that (or possibly before that) will arrive an international broadcast package, primarily featuring European games that begin at 9:30 a.m. ET.
