Oman Across Ages Museum wins 2025 International Chapter Award for Public Architecture
The award was conferred on the museum by the Australian Institute of Architects. The museum merited the award for its prominence in the category of international projects. The award was announced at the Australian Pavilion at Osaka Expo 2025 in Japan.
Oman Across Ages Museum had been designed by the "COX Architecture" Australian firm. This award caps the museum's success story as an architectural project that embodies environmental and cultural values, while at the same time maintaining the spirit of innovation in global architecture.
The head of the jury that adjudicated the rankings said that the entries submitted this year highlighted diversity in terms of geographical, cultural and environmental challenges addressed by the winning designs.
He explained that the winning designs responded to the aforementioned challenges through their high quality of materials, precision in detail and harmony with their physical entourage.
Oman Across Ages Museum is one of the most prominent cultural projects in the Sultanate of Oman. It embodies the country's historical and cultural depth by portraying local identity during a period of more than 800 million years.
The museum offers an interactive experience using advanced display technologies.

Seventh edition of 'Dhofar Holy Quran Forum' concludes in Salalah
Salalah: The 7th edition of 'Dhofar Holy Quran Forum' concluded on Wednesday at the Sultan Qaboos Youth Complex for Culture and Entertainment in Salalah. The forum was organised by the Directorate General of Endowments and Religious Affairs in Dhofar Governorate. The closing ceremony was held under the auspices of HH Sayyid Marwan bin Turki Al Said, Governor of Dhofar, in the presence of Dr. Mohammed bin Said Al Maamari, Minister of Endowments and Religious Affairs, and senior government officials. The ceremony included a visual presentation about the development of Quranic teaching from traditional methods to modern digital technologies, in addition to a religious chanting programme. The ceremony also saw the felicitation of 24 winners in the Quran Competition and 40 local women who completed the memorisation of the Holy Quran. The forum's activities included working papers that discussed intellectual and educational issues, including the methodology of understanding the Holy Quran, as well as the Holy Book's approach in addressing intellectual challenges and building a sound value system.

Phase One of Al Yasmeen Park Project in Al Suwaiq completed
Al Suwaiq: The Municipality of North Al Batinah has completed the first phase of Al Yasmeen Park project in Al Bidiyah area, the Wilayat of Al Suwaiq, at a cost of OMR212,460. Spanning a total area of 19,000 square metres, the project was executed over 347 days. The first phase included the implementation of irrigation systems, construction of a 30,000-litre underground water tank, and installation of a comprehensive electrical network supported by modern lighting poles. Additionally, pedestrian pathways stretching 644 metres were established, along with the surfacing of 6,182 square metres of flooring. A dedicated children's play area covering 1,525 square metres was also developed, complemented by the installation of seating and service facilities to enhance the efficiency of the public space. The second phase of the project will involve landscaping works, including tree planting and green spaces, as well as the installation of additional playground equipment. These efforts aim to fully develop the park into a modern facility that caters to all age groups while contributing to the urban enhancement of the area. Al Yasmeen Park is among the qualitative projects implemented by the Municipality of North Al Batinah across the governorate, as part of its efforts to develop and upgrade public spaces for comprehensive community benefit.
