Nakoa-Wolf Momoa and Ida Brooke join Dune 3 as Paul Atreides' twin children

Express Tribune17-06-2025
Newcomer Nakoa-Wolf Momoa and Silo actress Ida Brooke have officially joined the cast of Dune 3, Deadline has confirmed.
The two young stars are set to play Leto II and Ghanima Atreides, the twin children of Paul Atreides (Timothée Chalamet) and Chani (Zendaya), expanding the next chapter of Denis Villeneuve's sci-fi epic based on Frank Herbert's acclaimed novels.
This marks the big-screen debut of Nakoa-Wolf, son of actor Jason Momoa, who is also expected to return in Dune 3 as a resurrected version (ghola) of Duncan Idaho. Brooke, who has appeared in Apple TV+'s Silo and The Primrose Railway Children, is a rising talent making her franchise debut.
Dune 3, from Warner Bros. and Legendary Entertainment, is expected to adapt Herbert's novel Dune Messiah, set 12 years after Dune. It follows Emperor Paul Atreides as he grapples with the consequences of his Fremen-led holy war. A formal cast announcement is still pending, though Chalamet and Zendaya are expected to return, and Robert Pattinson was previously reported to be in talks for a villain role.
The Dune film series has been a massive success, earning over $1.1 billion globally and securing eight Oscars across two films. With Dune: Prophecy, the prequel Max series, already renewed for a second season, the Dune universe continues to expand on both big and small screens.
No release date or official title for Dune 3 has been announced.

Timothée Chalamet's Hollywood Walk of Fame star sparks mixed reactions among fans

It has been announced that Timothée Chalamet will receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2026, joining the Class of 2026 that includes Emily Blunt, Demi Moore, Rachel McAdams, and Rami Malek. At 29, Chalamet will be one of the youngest recipients. Chalamet, who was born in New York City, began acting as a teenager and gained widespread recognition with his Oscar-nominated role in Call Me by Your Name in 2017. He has since starred in Lady Bird, Beautiful Boy, Little Women, and Denis Villeneuve's Dune series, and recently portrayed Bob Dylan in the 2025 biopic A Complete Unknown, earning his second Academy Award nomination. The announcement, made on July 2, 2025, sparked a variety of reactions on social media. Some fans expressed excitement, calling Chalamet 'the main movie star of this generation' and praising his filmography, including his work in the Dune franchise. Others questioned the timing of the honour, suggesting that it may be too early in his career for such recognition. Comments on social media included suggestions that Kylie Jenner, Chalamet's partner, may have had a role in securing the star, while others referenced Kris Jenner's influence with humour. Some users also highlighted that many established figures have yet to receive a star, questioning the selection process. Despite the discussions surrounding the announcement, Chalamet's selection adds to the list of recipients for the upcoming Hollywood Walk of Fame class and follows a series of roles he has taken across different films in recent years.

Disney's ‘Lilo & Stitch' Becomes 2025's highest grossing MPA Film with $957M+ worldwide, overtaking ‘A Minecraft Movie'

Disney's Lilo & Stitch has overtaken Warner Bros and Legendary's A Minecraft Movie to become the highest grossing MPA film of 2025 so far, reaching $957.6 million worldwide and $553.9 million internationally. A Minecraft Movie has achieved $954.9 million globally, with $530.9 million from international markets. Both titles are currently the only films this year to surpass the $900 million mark at the global box office. Now in its sixth week of release, Lilo & Stitch, directed by Dean Fleischer Camp, remains on track to potentially become the first Hollywood title of 2025 to cross the billion-dollar mark worldwide. While A Minecraft Movie retains the highest grossing position in the United States with $423.9 million, Lilo & Stitch follows closely with $403.7 million. Lilo & Stitch has performed particularly well across international markets, with top territories including Mexico ($66.1M), the UK ($47.1M), France ($39.8M), and Brazil ($36M). The film opened domestically to $182.6 million over the four-day Memorial Day weekend, marking the largest opening for that holiday period ahead of Top Gun Maverick. This live-action adaptation of the 2002 animated classic has benefited from the franchise's strong presence on Disney+, where the original film and series have amassed over 579 million viewing hours globally. Following the film's success, Disney has announced a live-action sequel to Lilo & Stitch, continuing the franchise's momentum at the box office.
