Brad Pitt Reveals His 1 Condition for Doing a Tom Cruise Movie

Yahoo12-06-2025
Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt haven't shared the silver screen since their 1994 film "Interview with the Vampire." However, it's possible they join forces for another collaboration.
During a presentation at CinemaCon in April, Cruise raved about Pitt's upcoming film, "F1." Not only did he say he'll be there opening weekend to watch it, he revealed that he and Pitt used to race go-karts.
"Brad's got a new movie 'F1' with Jerry Bruckheimer and Joe Kosinski. I can't wait to see that this summer. I'll be there opening weekend. It'll be awesome," Cruise said. "It's great to see Brad driving. He's a very good driver. Believe me, I've raced against him. When we were doing 'Interview with the Vampire,' we'd go and race go-karts. We'd literally finish and go drive go-karts all night."
While at the Mexico City premiere for "F1" on Monday, Pitt responded to Cruise's encouraging words.
"He's sweet," Pitt said. "We did have our go-kart days in the early 90s."
Pitt then made it known that he's more than willing to work with Cruise again under one condition. The "F1" actor refuses to do any wild stunts that we've seen Cruise perform over the past few years.
"Well, I'm not gonna hang my ass off airplanes and [expletive] like that," Pitt told E! News. "So when he does something again that's on the ground.
Cruise left moviegoers speechless during "Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning" when he jumped from one plane onto another. If that wasn't crazy enough, the very next stunt featured him free-falling with a burning parachute. He actually did that stunt 19 times, according to "The Final Reckoning" director Christopher McQuarrie.
If Cruise wants to work with Pitt again, he'll have to tone down the death-defying stunts.

A-list actresses casually board commercial flight in sea of stunned passengers

Angelina Jolie and Salma Hayek had travelers doing a double-take in Mexico City last week. The 'Eternals' co-stars boarded a commercial flight over the weekend, according to a video shared via TikTok on Saturday. The actresses cut casual figures while chatting in the jet bridge on their way to Veracruz. Hayek matched her white joggers to her sweater, while Jolie opted for a cream top and coordinating pants. When fans asked Jolie, 50, and Hayek, 58, for a photo, they politely declined — but did pose for pictures while out and about in the terminal and eating. Social media users questioned the duo's public presence on the public flight in the comments section. 'Why don't they have a private jet?' one asked, while another joked that it didn't look like Hayek 'had stopped talking to' her A-list pal for days. The pair became close working on 'Eternals' in 2021. Three years later, Hayek starred in 'Without Blood,' which Jolie wrote, co-produced and directed. The latter gushed about the 'Salt' star in an interview with People last year. 'We do things together as a family. We hang out with the kids but also by ourselves,' Hayek, who is the mother of 17-year-old daughter Valentina, said in September 2024. Jolie, for her part, has six children: Maddox, 23, Pax, 21, Zahara, 20, Shiloh, 19, and twins Knox and Vivienne, 17. Hayek went on to call their bond 'super inspiring.' At the time, she explained, 'A friend was telling me, 'It's the same life whether you laugh or cry.' And it's nice to have a friend where you can laugh and cry … and feel always safe.' The 'Ugly Betty' alum also gave insight into Jolie's eldest sons' roles in 'Without Blood,' revealing Maddox and Pax's 'very professional' mom-turned-boss was 'demanding' of them. Mexican band Los Bukis honored with star on Hollywood Walk of Fame

Regional Mexican band, Los Bukis, was honored Wednesday with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame for recording. A large crowd gathered along the 7000 block of Hollywood Boulevard to celebrate a group known for its rich cultural music and significance. The band started out as just a duo, created by cousins Marco Antonio and Joel Solís in 1973. After struggling for a few years, the duo was signed by Discos Melody. After a few years, the band expanded, welcoming seven additional members along the way, including Marco Ibarra, Arturo Martínez, Alfonso Bugarini, Eusebio "Chivo" Cortés, Roberto Guadarrama, Javier Solís, Pedro Sánchez and José Guadarrama. Led by Marco Antonio's voice and songwriting, the band became "pioneers of the romantic ballad in Spanish-language music," the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce said. In 1976, they marked the beginning of their professional career with the success of "Falso Amor." In the 1980s, Los Bukis evolved from being an opening act to a headliner. Their 1986 hit "Tu Cárcel" became Mexico's first Diamond Record and earned three Grammy nominations. In 1989, at the Premio Lo Nuestro awards, the band swept multiple categories, including group of the year and album of the year, the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce said. After 25 years away from the stage, Los Bukis reunited in 2021 and made history as the first Latin artists to headline a stadium tour, "Una Historia Cantada," which began with sold-out performances at Sofi Stadium.

Gilda Cruz-Romo, Soprano Celebrated for Her Power, Dies at 85

Gilda Cruz-Romo, a singer whose soaring, penetrating lyric soprano in dozens of Metropolitan Opera performances drew the admiration of critics and fans throughout the 1970s and into the '80s, died on June 30 in San Antonio. She was 85. Her death, in a hospital, was confirmed by her niece Sandra Guerra. Ms. Cruz-Romo's powerful voice was ideal for Tosca, Aida and Cio-Cio San in 'Madama Butterfly,' and she was cast over and over in those roles. She sang 163 times with the Met, on tour and in New York, until her last performance with the company in 1984, as Tosca. She also sang at the major European opera houses — Covent Garden in London in 1972, and the Vienna State Opera and La Scala in Milan the next year. Critics focused on the natural way Ms. Cruz-Romo used her voice to inject character into her roles. From a 1962 debut in her native Mexico, opposite Jon Vickers in Wagner's 'Die Walkure,' to her final performances, 30 years later, in Falla's 'El Amor Brujo' in Guadalajara, where she was born, she was celebrated for a big voice — she could hit high Cs with perfect accuracy — that was also capable of singing quite softly. At the Met, she sang alongside stars like Sherrill Milnes in 'I Pagliacci,' Robert Merrill in 'La Forza del Destino' and Plácido Domingo in 'Tosca,' under James Levine. A 1974 performance in Turin in the title role of Verdi's 'Luisa Miller' was 'the aural equivalent of a Caravaggio painting,' the critic Scott Barnes wrote in a 2008 profile in Opera magazine. He praised her 'masterful use of light and shadow to etch an indelibly unique human being' and wrote that she had a sound 'perfect for Verdi and Puccini.' Want all of The Times? Subscribe.
