Govinda's Wife Sunita On Actor Being Offered James Cameron's Avatar: 'Jhooth Ka Saath Nahi Dungi'

News186 days ago

Govinda once claimed he turned down James Cameron's Avatar, citing health concerns over body paint and a long shoot. His wife Sunita now weighs in on it.
Years ago, Govinda claimed he was offered James Cameron's Avatar but decided against it. He even said he suggested the title himself and knew the project would take seven years to complete. The actor explained why he walked away. 'I have left an offer of Rs 21.5 crore, and I remember this because it was very painful leaving it … I have given the film's title – Avatar. James told me the hero in the film was handicapped, so I said I am not doing the film. He offered me Rs 18 crore for it and said I would be required to shoot for 410 days. I said that is okay, but if I paint my body, I will be in the hospital," he had said on Aap Ki Adalat.
Govinda also emphasised his priorities, saying, 'Our body is the only instrument we have… at times, some things appear very appealing professionally, but you also have to see their effects on your body."
Now, in a chat with Uorfi Javed, Govinda's wife, Sunita Ahuja, clarified that she's unaware of it. 'Arre yaar mujhe nahi pata kab offer hui. 40 saal toh mujhe hogaye Govinda ke saath. Avatar ka director, producer kab aaya mujhe nahi maalum (I don't know when the offer came. I have spent 40 years with Govinda. I don't know when the director and producer of Avatar came)."
She went on to add, 'Huyi bhi hai ke nahi I don't know. Main jhooth nahi bolti na main chugli karungi idhar naa main kisika side lungi. Main jhooth ka saath nahi dungi (I don't know if it was offered or not. I don't lie, I will not gossip, nor will I take anyone's side. I will not support lies)."
Sunita also said Govinda has no plans to take on reality TV. When asked whether Govinda might join a show like The Traitors, Sunita laughed and said, 'Govinda pehle picture karle bahut kaafi hai. Hum wait kar rahe hai ke picture kab karega woh (It will be enough if Govinda does a film first. We are waiting when he will do a film)."
The actor last film appearance was in 2019 in a movie titled Rangeela Raja.
