Netflix's 'Aap Jaisa Koi' actor R. Madhavan on Hindi-Marathi language row: 'I speak Tamil, Hindi and...'
Netflix's 'Aap Jaisa Koi' actor R. Madhavan has commented on the on-going Hindi-Marathi language row and said this to IANS in an interview, 'I speak Tamil. I speak Hindi. And I have studied in Kolhapur also. I have learnt Marathi also. So, I have never had any problem because of language. Neither because of knowing it nor because of not knowing it.'
In an exclusive interview with Firstpost, the actor spoke about how much he relates to his character and said, 'Touchwood, for what you have just said! I have seen that in my grandparents. They grew up in a very different society. Everybody's role was cut out and my grandmother was probably fourteen or fifteen when she got married. And my grandfather was probably 21 or 22. That was the norm then and they had babies.'

The actor added, 'They lived a life of love for eighty years. In the last four years, I would see my grandfather would literally worry to the core to make sure that my grandmother was okay. He used to keep on asking, 'has she eaten, has she taken her medicines?
He knew everything about her including her favourite colour. So, the amount of attention and care he used to show at 80, for me that kind of love was absolutely pure. He was so particular, that he wouldn't eat till she had eaten. I realised that the circumstances under which they would have fallen in love were very different.'

It's said the Shershaah actor's look test didn't really go as smooth as expected and the director Mohit Suri put his point forward. With the global collections of Rs 486 crore, Saiyaara has crossed Hrithik Roshan-Tiger Shroff's War (Rs 475.62), the film is expected to surpass its domestic collections (Rs 318.01 crore) by the end of its 4th weekend. Not only fans and audiences, Saiyaara garnered praise from celebs like Alia Bhatt, Ranveer Singh, Aamir Khan, Mahesh Babu, Arjun Kapoor, Ameesha Patel, Siddharth Anand, Sandeep Reddy Vanga, Karan Johar, Anurag Basu and Anil Kapoor, among others, for its storyline, direction and performances. Before the release of the movie, director Mohit Suri spoke about Saiyaara's comparison with Aashiqui 2 in an interview with Firstpost. He said, 'When I made Zeher, they said it looked like Murder. When I made Ek Villain, they said it looked like Murder 2. When I made Malang, they said it looked like Ek Villain. When I made Aashiqui 2, they said it looked like Woh Lame and Rockstar. So I think when I go ahead and make my next film, they'll say it looks like Saiyaara. I think when they're comparing it to my own work rather than somebody else's, it's good.'
