After tying the knot, Lauren Sanchez has appeared to have started a rebrand of herself now she's a wife - but is this a power move? We chat to PR expert Chad Teixeira on why this has been done
Lauren Sanchez Bezos has become one of the most talked-about women recently - so why has she completely wiped her Instagram feed?
The new wife of Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, who tied the knot just a few days ago in their star-studded $50 million Venice wedding has appeared to have deleted all of her social media posts, and instead left just two up for her one million followers - of her wedding day.

Lauren, a former journalist and entrepreneur looks like she's starting fresh after marrying her billionaire spouse, but is this a power move or is the new Mrs Bezos having a total rebrand of who she is? According to PR expert Chad Teixeira, the 55-year-old's Instagram clear-out is a "classic, strategic move".

The expert says he's a fan of what she's done and tells The Mirror: "By wiping her feed and leaving only two wedding photos, she's signalling a new chapter, not just personally, but publicly."
He details how this is something we often see in high-profile personal rebrands, and it's not just about aesthetics, but more about "narrative control". The expert continues: "When someone marries into the world 's most powerful business dynasty, every detail becomes part of a broader brand story."
So by curating her digital presence so tightly, Chad suggests she's "shifting the focus from her past media persona to her future as 'Mrs. Bezoz'," and further detailed how she's "asserting control over how she's perceived, elevating her public image, and aligning herself with a new identity that may be more philanthropic, global, or business-oriented."
However it's not something new, this type of move is becoming more common among celebrities and other public figures who are reintroducing themselves - especially around milestone life events. "Social media is the new press release," Chad said.

"From a PR perspective, digital minimalism like this creates intrigue and mystique, it invites speculation, encourages media attention, and positions the individual as intentional and calculated," the expert adds.
In Lauren's case, Chad says the erasure of past content could be a "deliberate distancing" from her previous public narratives such as her work in media, her high-profile relationship timeline, or even older images that "no longer reflect the level of influence she now commands."

We've seen similar moves with Meghan Markle, Kim Kardashian, and even Beyoncé -- women who understand the power of silence, space, and curation. "Clearing an Instagram grid isn't just about vanity or control; it's a strategic recalibration of brand equity," says Chad.
Lauren is stepping into a new arena, potentially one that will involve global philanthropy, business ventures, or even shaping her own legacy alongside Bezos. "And when that's the goal, the past becomes less relevant than the image she's choosing to project now."
Similarly, chartered psychologist Dr Louise Goddard-Crawley tells The Mirror that Lauren's move is not unusual and clearing her Instagram could reflect a "desire to consolidate her identity, project a sense of control, and mark a clear beginning to this next chapter."

The expert notes that there may be a few different layers to her new social media page - particularly following a period of intense public scrutiny. "When a wedding is picked apart so publicly, curating your digital presence could be a subtle but powerful way to reclaim the narrative," the expert explains.

"It might also reflect an attempt to align more closely with an 'ideal' self; with the curated feed serving as a kind of mirror to the version of herself she wants to solidify, both to others and to herself. Social media often becomes a space where identity is rehearsed and reinforced, particularly for those whose lives are so publicly consumed."
Dr Goddard-Crawley further adds that it could also be a "defensive function" too. When under pressure or in the spotlight, the expert said by simplifying what's available to the outside world can feel "containing" and could perhaps a way to minimise exposure and offer a sense of control. "Perhaps it helps her keep things feeling clear and resolved," she adds. "It's a striking move and perhaps that's part of the point!"

Diogo Jota's funeral to be held where he got married less than two weeks ago

Diogo Jota's funeral will be held on Friday in the same place he got married less than two weeks ago. Jota and his brother, Andre Silva, lost their lives in a car crash in northern Spain in the early hours of Thursday morning. As the brothers overtook another vehicle the Lamborghini they were in crashed due to a tyre blowout and caught fire. Both the 28-year-old Diogo and the 25-year-old Andre died at the scene. The Liverpool and Portugal married his long-term partner Rute Cardoso on June 22 in Sao Cosme, in his home city of Porto. His funeral will take place in Sao Cosme at 4pm on the day after he lost his life, just 12 days after he was married there. On Thursday afternoon, hearses were seen pulling up to a funeral home in Puebla de Sanabria, the town in north-western Spain where the bodies of Diogo and Andre were taken. The couple were married with their three children in attendance: sons Dinis, born in 2021, and Duarte, born 2023, and a daughter, born in 2024 whose name has not been released. Jota and Cardoso had been in a relationship since 2012, and are childhood sweethearts, having attended the same high school together in Porto. In his last post on social media prior to his death, Jota shared an emotional video from the pair's wedding day, captioning the post: 'A day we will never forget'. Jota and his brother were driving on their way back to England as they planned to travel by ferry due to doctors advising the Liverpool star not to fly after minor surgery. Rui Laura of CNN Portugal explained: 'The surgery he had had was lung surgery and he had been advised against flying following this. 'He was on his way to the northern Spanish port city of Santander to cross the ferry and reach the UK that way and carry on with the car once he reached Britain.' The tributes for Jota have been numerous, with Liverpool's Andy Robertson providing one as moving as any to his departed friend. The Scot wrote on Instagram: 'The ones I'm thinking about most right now are the family. Their loss is too much to bear. I'm so sorry that they have lost two such precious souls – Diogo and Andre. 'For the team and the Club, we'll try to cope with this together… however long that takes. 'For me, I want to talk about my mate. My buddy. The bloke I loved and will miss like crazy. 'Full of love for the people he cared about. Full of fun. 'He was the most British foreign player I've ever met. We used to joke he was really Irish… I'd try to claim him as Scottish, obviously. They woke me up at 6am after an 18 hour tour bus journey. I was tired and they said it was room service. "The Brixton thing in me said 'Ding ding'. "There were no tray and I thought something was wrong. I cussed the guy and he said he would come back. "It was just about 6am. They found the guy from my description. I did a Karen and said 'I want to speak to the manager'. "The hotel said they had to let him go as our stories did not match up. "They said he was looking for his girlfriend but it was dodgy. "In the end the manager tells me there is no case." The star explained that things could have been a lot worse had she not been alert. "You know sometimes in your life when you have steam blowing," Skin said. "I had to take myself away from this man and the situation. We made the hotel look at the cameras to get a picture of this man. Pop star continues making new music - after hits in the 90s "He was leaning up against my door. He could have pushed the door in with a knife or he could have had Chloroform. "Who knows what would have happened. But I am a fighter and that is going to get me in trouble." Following the scary ordeal, the singer said they are now forced to be more vigilant when staying at hotels. The musician continued: "Now I will have to get one of those little lock things to put in the door. If you are in a band you will need to get one. It can happen to you. "Don't wait for something awful to happen. "Put better security and cameras into your hotels and key cards so you can use the lift. "I am still vexed even telling the story. Never open your door at weird times useless you know who is there." Skin claimed the hotel is continuing to "review their security systems" to increase the hotel guests protection. The hitmaker added: "I'm not trying to get anyone fired, my life mantra is that prevention is better than a cure. Hotels can do a lot to make their clients safe. "The reaction should not be to automatically pit my word against someone clearly being dodgy because you didn't catch him camera doing it. But thanks to Pullman Hotels for listening and doing something about it, that is much appreciated." Skin is lead vocalist of Skunk Anansie. In 2015, Skin joined the judging panel of the Italian version of talent competition The X Factor for one season.
