Hockey Haryana secured the bronze medal in the women's category by defeating the Hockey Unit of Tamil Nadu, while Hockey Chandigarh triumphed over the Hockey Association of Odisha in the men's category to finish on the podium.
In the women's final, the Hockey Association of Odisha narrowly defeated Hockey Punjab 1-0 to claim the championship. Both teams displayed determination and commitment, remaining goalless in the first half. However, Ranjita Beck showcased her skill once again by breaking through Hockey Punjab's strong defence and scoring the decisive goal that secured the trophy.
In the men's category, the Hockey Unit of Tamil Nadu defeated Hockey Maharashtra 5-0 to win the title. Despite a goalless first half, Muthuselvan D, Sudharsan S, Govthaman, Thamaraikannan, and Ramadoss V scored at regular intervals in the latter half, clinching the championship.
In the women's bronze medal match, Hockey Haryana edged out the Hockey Unit of Tamil Nadu 4-3 in a closely contested game. Saumya scored twice for the Hockey Unit of Tamil Nadu, with Captain Mecklish James adding another goal. For Hockey Haryana, Monorama Goswami and Chingshubam Sanggai Ibemhal both scored two goals each, securing the bronze medal.
In the men's bronze medal match, Hockey Chandigarh defeated the Hockey Association of Odisha 2-1. Ravinder Singh scored first for Hockey Chandigarh. Ladhu Ekka equalised for Odisha just before the end of the third quarter. In a tightly contested match, Harvinder Singh scored the decisive goal, helping Hockey Chandigarh secure the bronze medal.

Chennai (Tamil Nadu) [India], June 27 (ANI): Hockey Association of Odisha (Women) and Hockey Unit of Tamil Nadu (Men) were crowned champions of the first Hockey India Masters Cup 2025. They defeated Hockey Punjab (Women) and Hockey Maharashtra (Men) respectively, at the Mayor Radhakrishnan Hockey Stadium in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. Hockey Haryana won the bronze medal match in the women's category after defeating the Hockey Unit of Tamil Nadu. Hockey Chandigarh defeated Hockey Association of Odisha in the men's category to finish their campaign on the podium, as per the press release from Hockey India. Hockey Association of Odisha narrowly defeated Hockey Punjab 1-0 in the final match to become the champions. Both the teams displayed grit and commitment and remained goalless in the first-half. But it was Ranjita Beck (34') who proved her mettle once again in the tournament to take the ball past the strong defence of Hockey Punjab and scored the match-winning goal of the match to lift the trophy. In the men's category, Hockey Unit of Tamil Nadu defeated Hockey Maharashtra 5-0 to lift the trophy. After both the teams playing goalless draw most of the first-half, Muthuselvan D (30'), Sudharsan S (34'), Govthaman (36'), Thamaraikannan (40') and Ramadoss V (52') scored five goals on regular intervals in the latter half of the game to clinch the title from Hockey Maharashtra. In the Bronze medal match of the women's category, Hockey Haryana defeated Hockey Unit of Tamil Nadu 4-3 in a closely contested game. Saumya (40', 48') scored a brace for the Hockey Unit of Tamil Nadu, joined by Captain Mecklish James (5'), who also scored one goal. On the other side for Hockey Haryana, both Monorama Goswami (19', 56') and Chingshubam Sanggai Ibemhal (22', 34') scored a couple of goals each to take the game away from Hockey Unit of Tamil Nadu and finished their campaign on the podium with the Bronze medal. Also, in the Bronze medal match of the men's category, Hockey Chandigarh defeated Hockey Association of Odisha 2-1. Ravinder Singh (26') opened the goal count on the scoreboard for Hockey Chandigarh. In response, Ladhu Ekka (44') played an equaliser right before the end of the third quarter. Both teams were playing neck-to-neck, giving it their all, but it was Hockey Chandigarh who proved out to be the better one as Harvinder Singh (52') scored another one to make the difference and help his team win the bronze medal. Punjab, Odisha will clash in final of inaugural edition of Women's Hockey India Masters Cup

Chennai (Tamil Nadu) [India], June 26 (ANI): The race for the title at the inaugural Hockey India Masters Cup (Women) reached its final stretch, as Hockey Association of Odisha and Hockey Punjab sealed their places in the final after registering impressive wins in their respective semi-final matches at the Mayor Radhakrishnan Hockey Stadium here on Thursday. In the first semi-final, Hockey Association of Odisha delivered a commanding performance to defeat Hockey Unit of Tamil Nadu 4-1. Odisha captain Lucela Ekka (4', 25') led from the front with two brilliant field goals, giving her team a strong foothold early in the match, as per the Hockey India press release. She was supported by Sarita Roshan Minz (9') and Asima Sanjay Minz (30'), who also found the back of the net to seal a convincing win. Tamil Nadu's lone goal came from Saumya (34'), who converted a penalty corner in the third quarter. The second semi-final saw Hockey Punjab come from behind twice to secure a hard-fought 3-2 victory over Hockey Haryana. Haryana took the early lead through a field goal from Sonika Yadav (11'), but Punjab equalised soon after with Meenakshi (18') converting a penalty corner. In the third quarter, Nishi Shivendra Singh (38') put Haryana back in front with a field goal, only for Punjab to respond once again--Baljit Kaur Marar (44') equalised with a penalty corner strike. Just three minutes later, Sangita Minz (47') sealed the comeback with a well-timed field goal, propelling Punjab into the Final. Hockey Association of Odisha will take on Hockey Punjab in the Final of the inaugural Hockey India Masters Cup (Women), while Hockey Unit of Tamil Nadu will now face-off with Hockey Haryana for the Bronze medal match on Friday before the summit clash.
