Body found amid search for American tourist who vanished while on romantic getaway with his wife
Investigators discovered a 'deceased male in a state of decomposition' early Saturday morning, a Royal Turks and Caicos Islands Police Force statement read. His identity has not been released.
'The RTCIPF will provide further updates as soon as the identification process is completed and the next of kin is informed.'
Private investigator Carl DeFazio, whom Tarrence's family hired, told People magazine the body was found in a 'little residential-commercial area."
DeFazio warned it was too early to speculate the body was Tarrence's, who was last seen leaving a rented apartment at the Paradise Inn in Grace Bay just before 3:40 a.m.
Tarrence and his wife arrived on the island on June 21 for what they had intended to be a romantic getaway to celebrate their anniversary. His brother, Mike Tarrence, told The Turks and Caicos Sun that he last heard from his brother via text the day before they traveled.
'They were there to celebrate their one-year anniversary. He just said they were going on vacation. No details were provided to me. This is very personal, but come to find out through all of this, it was discovered he is a very bad alcoholic. We were also told that with either the drinking, lack of sleep, or both, he was experiencing hallucinations,: Mike Tarrence said.
'He has never done anything even remotely close to this. He is a very smart individual,' he added.
The message was short and simply said that Tarrence and his wife were heading off on holiday to celebrate their one-year anniversary with no further details.
Meanwhile, DeFazio told People, 'You can't just look at, say, a watch, sneakers, and a pair of shorts. Anybody could be wearing that. What if we say, 'Yeah, that's his watch, that's his shorts,' and then find out somebody else had them? And if that were the truth, then this investigation takes a turn tremendously right there.'
Acting Police Commissioner Rodney Adams said, 'The Royal Turks and Caicos Islands Police Force extends sincere condolences to the family and friends of the deceased.
'We urge members of the public to refrain from speculation and allow the investigative process to confirm the identity through official channels.'

Tesolin also took the opportunity to lash his critics, telling Bo they were simply jealous of his success. 'As you know Adrian... tall poppy syndrome is a big thing in this industry,' he said. His admission about the long-running NSW Fair Trading investigation contradicts the statement the Ray White Group provided to Daily Mail Australia a month earlier, which claimed that 'Josh Tesolin is not aware of any personal investigation into him'. Tesolin (pictured) was awarded the Number 1 Agent in Australia award via RateMyAgent four times in 2023, 2022, 2021 and 2020 out of 60,000 real estate agents 'Rather, on 16 March 2023, the corporate licensee responded to an investigation by NSW Fair Trading; since that date, there has been no penalty, fine or regulatory action taken by NSW Fair Trading against the corporate licensee or Mr Tesolin,' it said. A Fair Trading spokesperson confirmed this week that the investigation was ongoing. 'The Strata and Property Services Taskforce within NSW Fair Trading is investigating Quakers Hill Ray White Real Estate and Josh Tesolin following proactive compliance blitzes into underquoting and complaints,' they said. 'As this investigation is ongoing, no further comment is available at this time.' It's understood the investigation will be completed in the coming weeks. When contacted by Daily Mail Australia about Tesolin's comments on the podcast, Ray White said it was unaware of the 'specific matters' under investigation. 'The Ray White Group has always offered its full cooperation and support to NSW Fair Trading in any investigation of its members,' a spokesperson said. 'In relation to Ray White Quakers Hill, we have still not been informed of the specific matters under investigation, despite being told by the media. 'NSW Fair Trading have provided Ray White - the franchisor - with no formal communication regarding its investigation regarding Josh Tesolin.' Daily Mail Australia is not suggesting Tesolin has engaged in underquoting, only that NSW Fair Trading is investigating his agency in Quakers Hill. In 2021, Tesolin was awarded the Number 1 Agent in Australia by RateMyAgent, a title he secured four years in a row, from 2020 to 2023, standing out among over 60,000 real estate agents nationwide. Never one to shy away from celebrating his achievements, Tesolin made a bold statement at a real estate conference in New Zealand, debuting a custom-made jacket adorned with images of properties he's had a hand in selling. Under NSW law, real estate agents must provide a reasonable estimate of a property's likely selling price in the agency agreement. If a price range is used in advertising, the highest price must not exceed the lowest price by more than 10 per cent. In NSW, underquoting is an offence, attracting penalties of up to $22,000. A property sold on June 5 by the Tesolin Group was guided at $950,000, much lower than the $1,145,000 it sold for in 2021. The home in Riverstone ultimately sold for $1,351,000, a difference of 42 per cent from the reserve. Tim McKibbin, the CEO of the Real Estate Institute of NSW, said it was unusual for a property to be listed for less than its previous sale price in the current market. 'I'm not shocked that it was marketed at a lower price, but generally, you wouldn't expect a property to sell for less than it previously did,' he told Daily Mail Australia. 'There could be a multitude of factors influencing this, the property may have been damaged, or there may have been changes in the surrounding area. Engine fuel switches cut off before Air India crash that killed 260, preliminary report finds
A preliminary report by Indian aviation accident investigators said the fatal Air India crash that killed 260 people in Ahmedabad in June showed the plane engines' fuel switches shifting from run to cutoff within seconds of each other. The report also contained information about the pilots discussing the switches. 'In the cockpit voice recording, one of the pilots is heard asking the other why did he cutoff. The other pilot responded that he did not do so,' the report says. The investigation into the disaster is continuing. 'At this stage of investigation, there are no recommended actions to Boeing 787-8 and/or GE GEnx-1B engine operators and manufacturers' India's Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau said. More than 240 passengers and crew onboard the flight died, as did at least 30 people on the ground, including five medical students. One passenger, Vishwash Kumar Ramesh, survived the crash. What's Done in the Dark Episode 5 of Ballard Season 1 starts with Ballard and Arron on a date. Ballard gets triggered when she misunderstands a customer's interaction with a waitress. Elsewhere, Driscoll calls Manny to get an update on the Martina situation. Manny assures him that he is working on winning Martina's trust. The two are currently on a date, and Manny is upping his charm game. Later, Driscoll meets with the mafia to make a drop and mocks one of the snitches the mafia is torturing. The following morning, Nelson drops by the office to talk to Ted. Nelson is worried that Ballard's investigation is one-dimensional and wants Sara to be the top priority. He asks for a weekly check-in. The team focuses on the vehicle lead, but everyone except Colleen is feeling down. Collen suggests they follow up on a car that was scraped in 2009 that was registered to a woman named Jenny Garrison. Ballard asks Colleen and Ted to focus on the cars while she and Zamira focus on something else. Laffont stays home to create a timeline for Driscoll's past movements. Ballard calls him, but he informs her that there is no update. On the ride, Ballard asks Zamira about her partnership with Olivas. Unfortunately, Zamira lies and says it was all good. The meeting with Jenny Garrison leads them to her ex-husband, Mike Garrison. Allegedly, he ran away with his mistress, Denise, back in the day. No one has seen him ever since. Jenny refuses to allow them to collect Mike's DNA through their daughter. However, Zamira and Ballard go behind her back and contact the daughter. Thankfully, the daughter agrees to give her DNA and convinces her mom to do the same. Laffont's efforts bear fruit when he links Driscoll to an undercover operation back in the day. Lucas Ibarra was named as one of the informants. Ballard and Laffont track down the agent in charge of the operation. They discover that Ibarra was Driscoll's, but he allegedly disappeared after he got cold feet. Driscoll reported that Ibarra left for Mexico. However, Ballard and Laffont know exactly what happened and realise Driscoll took out Ibarra to protect the cartel. Driscoll did a good job covering everything up, In the evening, the two debrief Zamira, and they come up with a new plan to surveil Driscoll. After Laffont leaves, Ballard invites Zamira to her place for dinner. Zamira opens up about what happened with Olivas. He raped her but then gaslighted her to think it was her fault. Ballard comforts and assures her that they will get justice. The next day, Ted and Colleen drive to Encino to look at the scraped car record. Their investigation leads them to a storage unit under Mike Garrison's name. In the meantime, Ballard meets with Damani to check the court records and verify Driscoll's alibi on the day Ibarra was killed. Driscoll had claimed he was in court to testify, but there is no proof of this. Later that night, Martina brings Manny to the office. This gives him a chance to see how far they have got in their case. He later meets with Driscoll and tells him that Ballard's team has no leads. He believes the team is more focused on Sara's case. However, Driscoll threatens to hurt Martina if Manny is wrong. At home, Zamira crashes out as she remembers what Olivas did to her. Meanwhile, Colleen and Ballard follow up on the storage unit lead and ask Ballard to get a warrant. Ballard arrives late but just in time. The team calls for backup and opens the storage unit. They are shocked to find what looks like the killer's trophies stored in little boxes. The Episode Review Colleen and Ted have a unique bickering relationship that makes them a good team. As much as Ted is annoying, his heart is in the right place. He is just a bit lazy and hates fieldwork. The storage unit is a big break, and hopefully, they will find more answers. It is shocking to realise how many more victims are out there. This killer has been busy. Ballard and Zamira's sexual assault rings true for a lot of women. Olivas continues to get away with it because the system protects him while it agonises the victims. It is heartbreaking that no one believes them, and he continues to get more victims. On the other hand, Manny is putting Martina in danger. She has no idea that he is working for Driscoll. If things get chaotic, the mafia and Driscoll will do whatever is necessary to protect themselves.
