Boult stars as MI New York beat LA Knight Riders in MLC

Trent Boult claimed 4-17 before Nicholas Pooran hit an unbeaten 62 as MI New York cruised to an eight-wicket win over LA Knight Riders in Major League Cricket's basement battle.Left-arm Kiwi quick Boult captured four of LA's top order as they were restricted to 154-8 from their 20 overs at Central Broward Park in Lauderhill, Florida.Sherfane Rutherford was the only batter to make an impact for the Knight Riders as he whacked six sixes and five fours in his 44-ball 86 before he too was dismissed by Boult.Kieron Pollard stifled LA's hopes of boosting their total late on as the veteran Trinidadian franchise star bagged the wickets of his old West Indies team-mates Rovman Powell and Jason Holder en route to 2-15.Sunil Narine (1-26) removed the dangerous Quinton de Kock for 11 to give LA hope at the start of MI's chase. But once Pooran overcame an uncharacteristically circumspect start, and settled in alongside Monank Patel, the total looked a formality for New York .The pair shared a 112-run stand for the second wicket before USA captain Patel chipped Andre Russell (1-43) into the hands of Powell at mid-off for a 44-ball 56.Pooran hit six fours and two sixes in his 47-ball knock as he and Pollard, who clubbed two sixes in his 14 not out, got MI over the line with 13 balls to spare. With just one victory Knight Riders are bottom of the MLC standings with MI two points above them in fifth following just their second win of the season.

Tiger Woods and Vanessa Trump ‘are wedding bells serious' as smitten couple's relationship takes major step forward

TIGER WOODS and Vanessa Trump are reportedly almost ready to take the next step in their relationship. It was first revealed in March that the legendary golfer, 49, was dating Trump, 47. 3 3 They had originally hoped to keep the relationship under wraps. Amid rampant speculation, Woods eventually confirmed they were dating weeks later. But now their romance is heating up fast. So fast, that according to Page Six, they may even be considering marriage in the not too distant future. A source told the outlet: "They're very serious. "Wedding bells serious." The source added: "She's so happy! "She's finally found happiness. "She's found happiness for the first time in her life." Two-time PGA Tour winner Brian Henninger exclusively told SunSport how their blossoming romance had surprised him. I played golf with Tiger Woods but he was a ghost behind the scenes - his romance with Vanessa Trump surprised me He said: 'Tiger Woods is not a person you're going to go and hang out with. 'He's not eating with you in the lunchroom. He's pleasant though. He'd say 'Hi Brian'. He knows a little bit about everybody, he does his research. 'I'll never forget the first time I met him. We were at the Western Open, we're in this fitness trailer, they were stretching us or something. 'He goes 'hey, I saw your Trojans got beat by Stanford the other night'. I mean, I've never met him. So I think he's one of those prepared guys in any situation. 'Behind the scenes, he was a ghost to most of us. We didn't really know about his life off the course. We know what the media shared with us, but I didn't really know that lifestyle. 'He was a natural show off. He had so much popularity and it's incredible. 'I didn't get to travel and own mansions, private jets and have Michael Jordan as my best friend…even though I'd love to be a fly on the wall for that stuff. 'But he didn't show signs on the golf course of being affected by any of it. 'Scottie Scheffler is coming along doing similar things. I don't know all the matrix behind it, but they are very close in terms of how many times they've won at a certain age and all the accomplishments. 'They can just turn it on and off. I mean, they get to the golf course and they're like different human beings." 3

Deshaun Watson announces major life update with girlfriend Jilly Anais on social media

Controversial NFL quarterback Deshaun Watson has announced his marriage to longtime girlfriend Jilly Anais on Instagram, with a pair of photos shared through their accounts. The Cleveland Browns star and Anais tied the knot on Thursday, which also marked their sixth anniversary of dating, having started a relationship in 2019. What teammates attended his wedding are unclear, as Watson has had a rocky stay in Cleveland. Watson's $230million guaranteed contract has not paid dividends for the Browns, who have not won a playoff game since before he came to Cleveland. The 29-year-old Watson was seen as a future star in the league several years ago with the Houston Texans, with his career being detailed after being accused of sexual misconduct by more than two dozen women. Those accusers' claims led to Watson being suspended for 11 games during the 2022 NFL season. The brief glimpse into Watson's wedding day however showed him wearing a white dress shirt with gold lettering stitched into his cuff that read '07.03.25'. The lettering matches his glitzy gold watch with Watson also wearing a jewelry-encrusted wedding band. Anais is seen wearing a huge wedding ring, doubled up with her wedding band, as her nails are painted pink and white. Anais dress appears to be the traditional white, while Watson also looks to be in a shade of white, with matching pants and shoes. Other details of the joyous day for Watson and Anais are private as of Friday, with the quarterback having the day away from any drama with the Browns. The team also has veteran Joe Flacco, journeyman backup Kenny Pickett, and rookie's Shedeur Sanders and Dillon Gabriel. Sanders himself has come under fire, as he is amid a speeding scandal, with two egregious violations behind the wheel. ESPN's Daniel Oyefusi believes that Sanders' roster spot isn't 'guaranteed' and projects he'll have to improve to move up the depth chart. Watson is expected to miss all of the 2025 season with an Achilles injury, which could make a path to a roster spot easier for Sanders, as the team will likely carry three quarterbacks, and possibly one more on its practice squad.

Cubs club franchise-record 8 HRs in rout of Cardinals

July 4 - The Chicago Cubs set a franchise record by bashing eight home runs in a single game on their way to an Independence Day annihilation of the visiting St. Louis Cardinals, winning 11-3 on Friday. Michael Busch enjoyed his first career three-homer game, and Pete Crow-Armstrong provided his 22nd and 23rd dingers of the season. Dansby Swanson and Busch went back-to-back off reliever John King in the seventh inning to break the team record. The Cubs raced out to a 7-0 lead with six home runs in the first three innings. Seiya Suzuki and Crow-Armstrong both went yard in the first inning, Busch and Carson Kelly took a turn in the second for a 4-0 advantage, and Crow-Armstrong and Busch pummeled pitches 414 and 428 feet, respectively, in the third. Miles Mikolas (4-6) served up those six home runs on his way to a forgettable Fourth of July. He stayed in for six innings, yielding eight runs on 10 hits without a walk. The veteran right-hander had never given up more than four homers in a game. The run support was a welcome sight for Colin Rea (6-3), the Cubs starter whose only hit allowed over 6 2/3 innings was a fourth-inning solo shot by Brendan Donovan. Rea struck out four and walked two. Busch singled to center in the fifth inning to bring home Crow-Armstrong and give Chicago an 8-1 lead. Busch finished 4-for-4 with five RBIs. With two outs and one on in the seventh, Swanson clocked a 1-0 sinker from King 423 feet to center for the Cubs' seventh home run of the day. It was Swanson's first home run since June 19. Five pitches later, Busch sent a curveball into the first row of seats in left-center field. He improved his season total to 17, four shy of his career mark from 2024, his first year with Chicago. The Cardinals scored two runs in the ninth while facing position player Jon Berti on the mound. Lars Nootbaar singled home Garrett Hampson before Pedro Pages drew a bases-loaded walk. --Field Level Media
