Deshaun Watson announces major life update with girlfriend Jilly Anais on social media

Daily Mail2 days ago
Controversial NFL quarterback Deshaun Watson has announced his marriage to longtime girlfriend Jilly Anais on Instagram, with a pair of photos shared through their accounts.
The Cleveland Browns star and Anais tied the knot on Thursday, which also marked their sixth anniversary of dating, having started a relationship in 2019.
What teammates attended his wedding are unclear, as Watson has had a rocky stay in Cleveland.
Watson's $230million guaranteed contract has not paid dividends for the Browns, who have not won a playoff game since before he came to Cleveland.
The 29-year-old Watson was seen as a future star in the league several years ago with the Houston Texans, with his career being detailed after being accused of sexual misconduct by more than two dozen women. Those accusers' claims led to Watson being suspended for 11 games during the 2022 NFL season.
The brief glimpse into Watson's wedding day however showed him wearing a white dress shirt with gold lettering stitched into his cuff that read '07.03.25'.
The lettering matches his glitzy gold watch with Watson also wearing a jewelry-encrusted wedding band.
Anais is seen wearing a huge wedding ring, doubled up with her wedding band, as her nails are painted pink and white.
Anais dress appears to be the traditional white, while Watson also looks to be in a shade of white, with matching pants and shoes.
Other details of the joyous day for Watson and Anais are private as of Friday, with the quarterback having the day away from any drama with the Browns.
The team also has veteran Joe Flacco, journeyman backup Kenny Pickett, and rookie's Shedeur Sanders and Dillon Gabriel.
Sanders himself has come under fire, as he is amid a speeding scandal, with two egregious violations behind the wheel.
ESPN's Daniel Oyefusi believes that Sanders' roster spot isn't 'guaranteed' and projects he'll have to improve to move up the depth chart.
Watson is expected to miss all of the 2025 season with an Achilles injury, which could make a path to a roster spot easier for Sanders, as the team will likely carry three quarterbacks, and possibly one more on its practice squad.

Caitlyn Jenner bonds with her late manager Sophia Hutchins' mother in the wake of her tragic ATV death at 29

Caitlyn Jenner suffered a big loss this week when her right-hand woman, Sophia Hutchins, 29, died in a horror ATV crash on July 2. And on Saturday morning, Jenner was spotted finding comfort with Sophia's mother while out together in Malibu. Hutchins, like Jenner, was transgender and cited the father-of-six as the inspiration for coming out in college at Pepperdine University in 2016. Jenner looked somber as she strode ahead of Sophia's mother a day after she declined to speak about her late friend. Caitlyn wore a long-sleeved blue T-shirt with grey pants and a visor while Sophia's mom wore a long-sleeved green T-shirt and knee-length white shorts. Sophia wasn't just Jenner's manager, she was her friend and lived in the Olympian's Malibu mansion with her. Jenner looked somber in Malibu on Friday, marking the first time she had been seen in public since the tragedy - before exclusively telling she was going through 'tough times' navigating the loss of Hutchins. Putting on a brave face, she was seen waving at photographers before heading back to her $3.5million Malibu mansion. The star later said 'I don't want to talk' about the tragedy. In 2017, Hutchins moved into Jenner's home and began working as the star's manager, taking over the role from Jenner's ex-wife Kris Jenner, 69, after their 2015 divorce. Hutchins was in Jenner's inner circle for over a decade after she came out as a transgender woman in 2016. Hutchins met Caitlyn that year and appeared in multiple episodes of the television documentary series I Am Cait, a spin-off of Keeping Up With The Kardashians. Despite living under one roof, Hutchins previously told The New York Times that they 'were never romantically involved', insisting it was all about work and friendship. 'Caitlyn is a parent to me. I have said that a million times. It is a parental, familial relationship,' Sophia said. In 2020, Sophia posed for an online ad campaign for Kim Kardashian's highly successful clothing line SKIMS. Sophia was particularly close to Kris Jenner, speaking to her regularly, and Hutchins also had a good relationship with Jenner's daughters Kendall, 29, and Kylie, 27. The siblings once gave Sophia a stunning heart-shaped diamond necklace for Christmas. 'I'm on good terms with all the family, but I'm closest with Kris, Kim, Kylie and Kendall', Sophia said. Sophia was formerly Scott Hutchins and began her transition while attending college, but previously revealed that she had identified as female at a young age. As a student at Pepperdine, she began to undergo certain medical procedures as well as hormone treatments and hair removal. The businesswoman had seen a therapist - who helped aid in the decision to transition but seeing Jenner's 20/20 interview where the star announced her own transition put everything into full swing. During an interview with her school newspaper in 2016, Hutchins reflected, 'I've always had the question of "Do I want to transition from male to female?" 'I never thought a lot about doing it until I got into college because I was able to break away from my family and started to establish my own identity.' She had also given credit to her time at school 'to deal with a lot of issues that had always been there.' And after watching Caitlyn's interview, Sophia explained that it, 'made it so much more real for [her], like normal and successful people do this and people are okay when they do it.' Hutchins ended up taking some time off of school in order to complete her gender transition. When she was at the age of 15, Hutchins remembered telling a friend that she was female for the first time. 'It's almost like it just came out. I didn't even mean to let it out since I had been so used to holding it in and brushing it under the rug.' In 2019 during an appearance on Jim Breslo's Hidden Truth Show, Sophia also got candid about her gender identity. The media personality remembered making comments about her gender dysmorphia to her parents as young as age five. After her transition, Hutchins stated, 'I truly feel my spirit, my soul, my mind is exactly the same, I am just so much more comfortable physically.' 'Before I transitioned I felt like "Yeah, I'm definitely just a girl, but I'm in the wrong body." And I felt trapped in that body.' She added, 'And I needed to have the hormones to change the body, for me, the surgeries to change the body. 'But for me, that's what I wanted to do, and that's what made me ultimately so at peace.'

Nationals fire manager Dave Martinez, GM Mike Rizzo amid another losing season

Manager Dave Martinez and general manager Mike Rizzo were fired by the Washington Nationals on Sunday, more than halfway through their sixth consecutive losing season since winning the 2019 World Series. The move came after the Nationals were swept by the Boston Red Sox. They are 37-53, and the only other National League club with a worse record is the Colorado Rockies. 'Our family is eternally grateful for their years of dedication to the organization, including their roles in bringing a World Series trophy to Washington,' owner Mark Lerner said in a statement. 'While we are appreciative of their past successes, the on-field performance has not been where we or our fans expect it to be. This is a pivotal time for our club, and we believe a fresh approach and new energy is the best course of action for our team moving forward.' Rizzo's time running the Nationals is over after more than a decade and a half. One of the Lerners' first hires when they assumed control of the organization, Rizzo had been GM since 2009 and had president of baseball operations added to his title in 2013. 'He played an instrumental role in leading the transformation of our farm system and building a roster that reached an unprecedented level of organizational success,' Lerner said. 'Mike helped make us who we are as an organization, and we're so thankful to him for his hard work and dedication.' Senior VP and assistant GM Mike DeBartolo is taking over for Rizzo on an interim basis. Washington has the No 1 pick in the upcoming draft. 'Mike DeBartolo is a smart and thoughtful executive, and we're fortunate to have him as part of our organization,' Lerner said. 'We are confident in his ability to lead the baseball operations staff through these next, important months.' Martinez became the fourth manager fired since the start of the season after Pittsburgh's Derek Shelton, Colorado's Bud Black and Baltimore's Brandon Hyde. It was not immediately clear who would succeed Martinez, who last month bristled at a question about how to spread the blame among players and coaches. 'It's never on coaching,' Martinez said in June. 'Never on coaching. Coaches work their (butts) off every single day. We're not going to finger point here and say it's coaches. It's never on the coaches. They work hard. The message is clear. All the work is done prior. So, sometimes, they have to go out there and play the game. It's always been about the players. Always.' Martinez had never been a manager at any level when Rizzo hired him to replace Dusty Baker before the 2018 season. The Nationals went 82-80 in Martinez's first season and got off to a 19-31 start the following year, leading to some calls for him to be replaced. But Rizzo stuck with Martinez, and that decision paid off in a big way: Led by starting pitchers Stephen Strasburg, who earned World Series MVP honors, and Max Scherzer, rookie outfielder Juan Soto, young shortstop Trea Turner and a string of veterans — including Howie Kendrick, Ryan Zimmerman and Anthony Rendon — the Nationals won the franchise's first title. They took a step back in the pandemic-shortened 2020 season, and then Rizzo began tearing apart the roster, making a series of trades that sent Scherzer, Soto, Turner and others elsewhere. The reconstruction has continued, without much in the way of concrete progress in the standings to show for it, although the team does have some building blocks that show promise, including starter MacKenzie Gore, shortstop CJ Abrams and outfielders James Wood and Dylan Crews. Gore and Wood are NL All-Stars. 'Nationals fans have a lot to be optimistic about, and we see these changes as a difficult, but necessary move in a positive direction,' Lerner said. 'As has been the case since my late father took control of the team almost 20 years ago, our family remains committed to winning.' Washington finished fourth or fifth in the NL East every year from 2020 through 2024, never putting together a higher winning percentage than the .438 (71-91) each of the last two seasons. The team is again in last place. Martinez's full record with the Nationals was 500-622. 'I've always appreciated and admired Davey's passion for the game of baseball and the love he has for his players,' Lerner said. 'Davey's ability to connect with our staff, our players, our fans and our community set him apart. While this chapter has come to an end, we know that it doesn't close the book on what should continue to be a long and successful career in baseball.'

Paul Simon, 83, reveals major health update after 'chronic and intense pain'

Legendary singer Paul Simon offered a major health update on Thursday, just days after he canceled several concerts due to his condition. The 83-year-old singer revealed last week that he had to cancel two performances in Philadelphia, due to, ' chronic and intense back pain.' He shared a new update through a statement on his Instagram page, where he revealed the surgery he underwent was successful. 'As previously reported, Paul Simon underwent a surgical procedure this week to alleviate severe back pain that he has been experiencing for some time,' the statement began. 'Thanks to a great team of doctors, the surgery went well, as expected,' the statement added, before revealing he'll need more rest. 'However, it has become clear that he will need one additional day of rest and recuperation to ensure he is able to perform at the top of his ability in Long Beach,' the statement continued. 'As previously reported, Paul Simon underwent a surgical procedure this week to alleviate severe back pain that he has been experiencing for some time,' the statement began. 'Therefore, out of an abundance of caution, we have made the decision to move the previously scheduled show on Monday, July 7 at the The Terrace Theater in Long Beach, to Tuesday, July 8,' the statement added. 'We are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause, but Paul is looking forward to seeing everyone in Long Beach on Tuesday,' the singer's team continued. The statement added that all tickets purchased for Monday will be honored for the Tuesday show. 'For those unable to revise their plans, refunds are available at point of purchase,' the statement concluded. Last week, Simon shared a similar statement, just hours before his performance in Philadelphia. 'Paul has been struggling with chronic and intense back pain,' the statement read. 'Today it became unmanageable and demands immediate attention. Unfortunately, we have to cancel these shows at this time, as we don't have the ability to reschedule them,' the statement continued. 'However, we are hopeful after this minor surgical procedure which has been scheduled in the next few days, Paul will be able to complete the tour as well as look into returning to make up these dates,' the statement explained. 'We are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause, but Paul is looking forward to seeing everyone in Long Beach on Tuesday,' the singer's team continued. 'In the meantime, please go to your point of purchase or local ticket provider for a full refund.' Simon performed at the venue on Thursday night—the first of what was meant to be a three-show run in Philadelphia as part of his A Quiet Celebration Tour. His next scheduled performance is set for July 7 at the Terrace Theater in the Long Beach Performing Arts Center in Long Beach, California. Simon announced the tour in February, marking his return to the stage after retiring from touring in 2018 due to hearing loss. The tour has been hitting smaller, intimate venues including Austin's Bass Concert Hall, Denver's Paramount Theatre and New York City's Beacon Theater in mini-residencies. After his stop in Long Beach, Simon is scheduled to continue the tour with stops in Los Angeles, San Francisco, Vancouver and Seattle, before wrapping in early August.
