Sobha Realty, a leading global luxury real estate developer, on Tuesday announced the successful issuance of $500 million sukuk under its recently established $1.5 billion Sukuk Issuance Program.
This latest sukuk will be listed on the London Stock Exchange (LSE) and NASDAQ Dubai.
For this $500 million 2029 maturity sukuk issuance, the order book was oversubscribed three times to reach $1.54 billion. Initial Price Thoughts (IPTs) were set at 8.375%. However, strong interest from regional and international investors led to a notable price tightening of 37.5 basis points, bringing the effective yield to 8% p.a. Of the total issuance, 61% has been allocated to local and 39% to international investors, respectively, reaffirming investors' confidence in Sobha Realty's growth and Dubai's real estate sector outlook, said Sobha Realty.
Ravi Menon, Chairman of Sobha Group, said: 'The successful completion of Sobha Realty's USD500 million sukuk issuance underscores the continued confidence of the investor community in our financial stability and strategic direction. Our strategy, underpinned by our Backward Integration model, continues to yield strong financial results, including a substantially healthy revenue backlog, increased topline, and EBITDA generation. This reinforces our long-term commitment to growth and value creation.'
Maturing in 2029, the new sukuk issuance follows the recent upgrade of PNC Investments (PNCI), the parent company of Sobha Realty, by Moody's rating. In April 2025, Moody's upgraded PNCI's rating to Ba2/Stable from Ba3/Stable. In line with the improved existing rating, the newly issued sukuk are expected to achieve Ba2/stable rating by Moody's and BB/stable rating by S&P.
Sobha Realty appointed Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank, Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank, Arqaam Capital, Dubai Islamic Bank, Emirates NBD Capital, J.P. Morgan, Mashreq, RAKBANK, Sharjah Islamic Bank, Standard Chartered Bank, and Warba Bank as Joint Lead Managers and Joint Bookrunners. Having supported Sobha Realty's previous issuances, these institutions bring the proven expertise necessary to ensure continued success.

UAE's Air Arabia To Co-Launch Saudi Low-Cost Airline Flying 81 Routes From Dammam Hub

Saudi Arabia is launching a new national low-cost airline, with operations based out of King Fahd International Airport in Dammam, as part of a broader push to transform the Kingdom into a regional aviation hub. The General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) announced that a consortium led by UAE-based Air Arabia, Kun Investment Holding and Nesma Holding, has won the bid to operate the new carrier. The airline will begin operations with a fleet of 45 aircraft, covering 24 domestic and 57 international destinations, and aims to serve 10 million passengers annually. This expansion is part of Saudi Arabia's National Transport and Logistics Strategy, a key component of Vision 2030, which seeks to diversify the economy and enhance the Kingdom's competitiveness in transport, logistics, and tourism. According to GACA, the new low-cost airline will enhance air connectivity to and from the Eastern Province, improve operational efficiency, and boost seat availability at King Fahd International Airport. The airline is also expected to create more than 2,400 direct jobs and raise service quality across Saudi Arabia's growing aviation market. Air Arabia's inclusion in the consortium reflects its expanding regional footprint and aligns with its strategy of entering high-growth partnerships to serve underserved routes. This latest venture positions the Dammam airport as a growing hub for affordable air travel and supports the Kingdom's goal of moving 100 million passengers annually by the end of the decade.

Viral Dubai Chocolate Replica Recalled

The Food Standards Agency (FSA) has issued an urgent recall for a viral Dubai chocolate bar replica in the United Kingdom (UK). The Noesis Schokolade Love of Dubai chocolate bars were recalled following the FSA's discovery of peanuts not listed on the ingredient label. The 95g chocolate bars pose a 'serious risk' to consumers with peanut allergies, according to the FSA's Food Alert for Action notice issued this week. All lot numbers and best before dates of the product are included in the recall. The FSA has been unable to contact Black Sea Trading Ltd, the distributor of the products manufactured by NOESIS SCHOKOLADE, Gida ve Unlu Mam Ltd. Food businesses across the UK have been advised to immediately stop sales and withdraw the products from shelves. 'Don't buy this product, and if you have bought it, don't eat it, especially if you have a peanut allergy. Dispose of the product at home and get in touch with your local Trading Standards in Great Britain or Environmental Health Officers in Northern Ireland, to let them know where you purchased it,' the FSA said in its advisory. The recalled chocolate bar capitalises on the Dubai chocolate trend that gained popularity in 2024. The trend centres around chocolate bars with pistachio filling, originally created by Fix Dessert in Dubai. The phenomenon has received millions of views on TikTok and has driven up global pistachio prices from $7.65 to $10.30 per pound in the year to April, according to a report by The Independent . Last week, the FSA issued a broader warning about imported Dubai chocolate bars sold in the UK. The agency noted that some products may lack complete ingredient lists or allergen labelling because they were not originally intended for UK sale. Some bars may also contain additives and colours not permitted in the UK market. The FSA is working with enforcement authorities to investigate and ensure affected products are removed from the market. The agency is also collaborating with allergy organisations to raise awareness of the issue. UK law requires food labels to highlight any of 14 allergens present in products, but some imported products may not comply with these requirements. The FSA is currently surveying and sampling Dubai-style chocolate products to determine the scale of the issue.
