It's a great laptop to take to work, school or the coffee shop, and right now it's cheaper than I've ever seen it thanks to Best Buy's big back-to-school laptop sale. For a limited time the 13-inch MacBook Air M4 is $799 at Best Buy, which is a serious $200 discount off the usual $999 asking price.
This is the cheapest I've ever seen the MacBook Air M4, which is one of the best laptops you can buy thanks to its 13.6-inch Liquid Retina display (2560 x 1664), Apple's M4 CPU w/ 10-core GPU, 16GB of RAM and 256GB SSD. We gave this laptop our Editor's Choice award because it's easily the best MacBook to date, and one of the best ultraportables period.
The discount appears to apply across the retailer's entire stock of MacBook Air M4s, so if you prefer a bigger screen you can also get the 15-inch MacBook Air M4 for $999 at Best Buy.
This is the same MacBook Air M4 sporting the same killer $200 discount, just with a bigger 15.3-inch Liquid Retina display (2880 x 1864). It offers slightly better battery life than the 13-incher but is otherwise identical, since it packs Apple's M4 CPU w/ 10-core GPU, 16GB of RAM and 256GB SSD.
Personally that's the one I would buy because I'm a big guy with bad eyes so I like a big screen, but if you're more interested in saving money a brand-new 13-inch MacBook Air M4 for $800 is the best deal I've seen yet on these incredible ultraportables.

A Kindle lets you carry an entire bookshelf while on the go, which is why almost every year we recommend the e-reader in our guides to the best back to school essentials. Here's a comprehensive list of compatible iPhones that can download the iOS 26 beta today
If you're a devoted iPhone owner like me, you'll be excited to check out all the exciting new updates coming to Apple's operating system this fall: iOS 26. The coolest change, in my opinion, is the new Liquid Glass design (think Windows Vista, but arguably more thoughtful), which looks to be Apple's largest visual update in years. We spent two weeks test-driving it — you can check out our detailed hands-on iOS 26 preview, or you can try it out yourself by downloading and installing the public beta, available now. (While the beta is open to the public and stable, always remember there's a degree of risk involved with beta software.) Not ready to upgrade your smartphone this year? No worries, we'll help you find out if your phone will be able to run iOS 26. Last year, Apple didn't nix any iPhones from its eligibility list, but that's not the case for 2025 — a few models are getting cut this time. All iPhone 8 models and the iPhone X were the last to get the boot in 2023, and this year the 2018 models are getting left behind. If you have an ineligible device, you won't be able to download iOS 26 when it becomes available this fall. We'll get to the bottom of which iPhones will support iOS 26 this year. Basically, if you have an iPhone that was announced in 2019 or later, you're in the clear: iPhone SE (second generation or later) What if I don't want to buy a new iPhone? If you want to continue using your older iPhone that isn't supported by iOS 26, that's fine. However, you'll miss out on security updates which could potentially put your phone at risk for malware and other threats. Additionally, some apps may stop working if they require a certain version of iOS or later. And of course, you won't be able to access the latest features iOS 26 offers. When will iOS 26 become available? Apple usually rolls out its latest iOS in mid-September, just a few days before the new iPhones hit store shelves. Last year, it released iOS 18 on Monday, Sept. 16. Expect a confirmation of the release date at the iPhone 17 event, expected in early September. iOS 26 features we're excited about Liquid Glass design: Your home screen is getting revamped with new app icons, including dark mode and all-clear options. You'll also notice buttons with a new floating design. Liquid Glass was designed to make all of Apple's OSes more cohesive. Phone app redesign: You'll finally be able to scroll through contacts, recent calls and voicemail messages all on one screen. It also comes with a new feature called Hold Assist that'll notify you when an agent comes to the phone so you can avoid the elevator music. Live Translate: iOS 26 is bringing the ability to have a conversation via phone call or text message with someone who speaks another language. Live Translate will translate your conversation in real time. Polls feature: Coming to group messages in the Messages app, chat members will be able to create polls. This can help prevent the unwanted 30+ messages when it comes to deciding which restaurant you're meeting at this weekend.

Apple's giant foldable iPad likely won't launch until 2028 — what we've heard
Apple is expected to launch a foldable device of some kind in 2026, and at one point, rumors suggested that at least two foldable different products would launch next year. However, a new report from analyst Jeff Pu suggests one of those devices, the foldable iPad, will actually be delayed to 2028. A research note from GF Securities lead analyst Jeff Pu (seen by MacRumors) claims that the iPhone 18 Fold is coming in 2026 and that he's seen "intact progress" in the supply chain. "On the other hand," Pu wrote in the note, "the 18.8-inch foldable device is likely to be postponed." Apparently, he did not explain his reasoning behind the delay. The report does suggest that the Apple tablet will not enter mass production in late 2026. It conflicts with Pu's own reports from April of this year saying that Apple would launch an iPhone Fold and an iPad Fold. What form the device takes has largely settle around a gigantic foldable iPad with an 18.8-inch to 20-inch display that will act as an iPad-MacBook hybrid. Here's the thing—that 2028 release date is not a new launch window for the foldable iPad. Previously, a five year Apple roadmap leaked showing the 18.8-inch foldable device coming in 2028. This year, Bloomberg's Mark Gurman also claimed that the foldable tablet will launch three years from now. Get instant access to breaking news, the hottest reviews, great deals and helpful tips. Gurman has also said that the foldable iPad will look like two iPad Minis side by side. Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has gone back and forth, at various points suggesting 2026 or 2028 for the foldable iPad or the iPhone Fold. Currently, most rumors point to Apple launching an iPhone Fold as part of the iPhone 18 series alongside the standard iPhone 18, an iPhone 18 Air and the iPhone 18 Pro models in 2026. Reportedly, the iPhone Fold won't be "groundbreaking" but with Apple's marketing and brand loyalty, it mostly just needs to look good and work. At one point the tablet was supposed to launch first, but it now seems the book-style foldable iPhone will beat it to market.
