DR MAX PEMBERTON: Every day, I see the dreadful impact of cannabis - and it's far worse than anyone can possibly imagine. Let me tell you what will REALLY happen if it's decriminalised

Day in and day out, I see the tragic human fallout from our lackadaisical attitude towards cannabis. I work in a specialist service for people with emerging severe mental illness and most of my patients have experienced psychosis.
The vast majority of them have used cannabis, and their lives have been shattered by this dreadful drug. Around one third of psychosis cases in the capital are the result of cannabis, according to research by Sir Robin Murray, a professor of Psychiatric Research at King's College London.

Heatwave live: Health alert extended to more areas; record-breaking day for Wimbledon

Explained: How to pick out the right sunscreen If you're going out in the sunshine, it's crucially important to have the right suncream protection. Not only does it help protect you against sunburn and skin cancer, but it can also help your skin as you age. Some of the UK's most popular sunscreens have failed safety tests in the past, offering far less protection than promised. Here's how to make sure you have the best protection... Choose a suncream with "broad spectrum" protection - this means it will protect against the two main types of UV (ultraviolet) rays in sunlight - UVA and UVB. While UVB rays are the main cause of sunburn and skin cancers, UVA rays can also contribute to skin cancer and premature ageing. You should also pick a product with a sun protection factor (SPF) of 30 or higher. The SPF number tells you how well the suncream protects against UVB rays. What is the star rating? While the SPF rating will tell you how well a suncream protects against UVB, star ratings are the indicator for UVA protection. You should look for a high star rating of four or five stars, according to Cancer Research UK, or "UVA" in a circle, which indicates it meets the EU's minimum standard. Cancer Research UK's tips for applying sunscreen: Use a lotion, pump-spray or roll-on over an aerosol, as the coverage from aerosols can be patchy and thin; Put enough on, applying sunscreen evenly and thickly; Reapply regularly, even if your sunscreen says it's "once a day" or "water resistant"; Don't rely on SPF in moisturiser or make-up, as often these products don't give enough protection on their own; Check the expiry date on your sunscreen to make sure it's still providing protection. Watchdog investigates BBC for airing Bob Vylan ‘death to the IDF' Glastonbury chant

Ofcom is seeking urgent information from the BBC regarding its broadcast of Bob Vylan 's "death to the IDF" chant during their Glastonbury performance. The BBC has since stated it "should have pulled" the live stream, condemning the chant as "utterly unacceptable" and containing "antisemitic sentiments." Avon and Somerset Police are assessing video evidence from both Bob Vylan and Kneecap 's performances at the festival to determine if any offenses were committed. Senior political figures, including Sir Keir Starmer and Culture Secretary Lisa Nandy, have demanded explanations from the BBC concerning the broadcast. Rapper Bob Vylan, of the performing duo, has defended his controversial remarks, stating "I said what I said" and calling for a change in foreign policy.

Bizarre moment man strolls through town centre completely NAKED in front of horrified bystanders in soaring temps

THE bizarre moment a man walked through town completely naked over the weekend was captured by onlookers. He could be seen casually strolling past shops and through the high street on what was one of the hottest days so far this year. 2 2 The man stunned bystanders near the Guild Hall, in the centre of Newcastle-Under-Lyme, shortly after 5pm. He was completely stripped of clothes, not even wearing any shoes as he walked around in the sun. Another clip was also shared of what appears to be the same man running across the town centre roundabout during his naked escapade. It occurred on Saturday, June 28, where Staffordshire recorded temperatures reaching around 24 degrees Celsius. This incident is the latest in a episode of public nudity reported in the area. On June 20, a man was seen dancing and flashing his backside to motorists passing on Weston Road in Meir. A video showed him seated on the pavement that morning wearing cap, shirt and shorts. He could then be seen standing up and pulling his shorts down to moon at passing vehicles. Police also attended a half-naked man, who was escorted from a wooded area off Holst Drive in Birches Head last month. Another naked man was chased by paramedics as he ran along the A500, before being taken to the Royal Stoke University Hospital.
