Fahmi: Ministry to brief 3,000 people online on 13MP initiatives
Communications Minister Datuk Fahmi Fadzil said the session would involve 1,878 members of the Madani community and 1,099 managers of the National Information Dissemination Centres (NADI).
"The aim is to ensure the government's efforts under the Madani administration, through 13MP, are clearly understood by grassroots movers on the ground.
"We believe that when we empower the Madani community and NADI managers to disseminate the government's goals and initiatives, the people will ultimately benefit," he told a press conference today.
Fahmi said the briefing would use simple language to ensure clarity and inclusiveness among participants.
He added that the ministry would continue its outreach efforts in the lead-up to the tabling of the 13MP next year to foster greater understanding and support for national development plans.
Meanwhile, Fahmi said one of the targets under the 13MP was to expand Internet access nationwide and make it more affordable for the people.
He said the government was committed to ensuring that the Internet is safer, especially for children and families.
Fahmi said the government aimed to roll out a national digital ID system for individuals and businesses to enable secure access to global payments and improve digital marketability.
"This follows feedback from various stakeholders, including civil society and non-governmental organisations, which have raised concerns about the misuse of the Internet, especially in social media, to exploit children," he said.
Fahmi added that the 13MP would also support Malaysia's ambition to become a global leader in artificial intelligence while boosting the country's creative economy.

He welcomed RMK13's focus on expanding business opportunities through funding, training, and mentorship, noting that the state government has similar initiatives under the Post-COVID-19 Development Strategy (PCDS) 2030. Speaking at the Youth EdXchange Programme 2025, he highlighted the importance of youth empowerment. Study needed before implementing early education for five-year-olds, says Fadhlina
KOTA BARU: The Education Ministry is examining the technical and operational aspects before the implementation of early childhood education starting at the age of five under the 13th Malaysia Plan (13MP). Education Minister Fadhlina Sidek said the move is important to ensure the implementation of the policy runs smoothly and meets the objective of strengthening the country's early education foundation. She said the policy is ready and is being examined by her ministry in depth to ensure the implementation will bring a positive impact. "The Education Ministry will also hold a special briefing for the media to provide a comprehensive explanation on this move," she told reporters after presenting the Early Schooling Assistance (BAP) for Form Six Students Semester 1 Year 2025 at Kelantan state level at the Education Technology Resources Sector, Pengkalan Chepa, here, on Sunday (Aug 3). Fadhlina said the study will also look into the needs of teaching resources, infrastructure and the readiness of all parties involved. She said the policy is ready, now MOE is examining it in more depth from the technical and operational aspects so that its implementation will really have a positive impact. Asked to comment on the possibility of changing the entry age for Year One to six years or for students to sit for Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) at the age of 16, she said the matter would be announced after the details were made.
