Southampton ANNOUNCE Will Still as new manager one hour before final game of the season vs Arsenal
Saints have confirmed their appointment of the Belgian-born English coach, 32, on a three-year deal and the young boss has already targeted promotion.

The announcement came just an hour before kick-off in their final game of the dismal season at home to Arsenal.
Russell Martin led the south coast side up through the play-offs last year but was dismissed in December, with Southampton going on to be relegated earlier than any club in Premier League history.
Southampton had been targeting their former assistant Danny Rohl, who will leave Sheffield Wednesday this summer.
But there is competition for the German who is taking time to make a decision on his future, causing Saints to move elsewhere.

Still, who wanted to become a coach after playing the videogame Football Manager in his youth, recently announced his decision to leave Lens in France where he also managed Stade de Reims as the youngest manager in Europe's top five leagues.
He said: 'I'm extremely proud and excited to have joined Southampton.
"There is huge potential here and we have a great opportunity to do something special.
'The project that has been laid out to me is very impressive and, all together, I believe we can build a clear identity and a very positive future for the team.

'What was very apparent in our discussions was the clarity of his philosophy and the identity he wants his teams to have, but also his willingness and ability to adapt to different situations as they present themselves, which will be an important quality in the Championship next season.
'We were very impressed by his personality and his values, and we feel he will be an excellent fit for the culture we are looking to build at Staplewood.'

GONZALO GARCIA'S 54th-minute header was enough to give Real Madrid a 1-0 win over Juventus at Hard Rock Stadium on Tuesday and book their place in the quarter-finals of the Club World Cup. There was an early chance for Juve's Randal Kolo Muani after clever work from Kenan Yildiz to put him through on goal, but the French forward opted for an attempted chip of Thibaut Courtois, and his shot floated over the bar. The Turin team, beaten 5-2 by Manchester City in their final group game, were moving the ball around with confidence, but Real grew into the contest, and they went close when Jude Bellingham forced a save out of Michele Di Gregorio from close range. Federico Valverde then tested the Juve goalkeeper from long range, and Trent Alexander-Arnold whipped a low ball across the face of the goal as Madrid finished the half strongly. The interval did nothing to alter the momentum of the game with Real creating several chances — Bellingham laid off to Valverde, whose sweetly-struck shot was just wide and then Bellingham himself brought another good save out of Di Gregorio with a shot from the edge of the box. Dean Huijsen's rocketing drive was parried out by the busy goalkeeper as Real laid siege to the Juventus goal, and it was no surprise when the breakthrough finally arrived. Alexander-Arnold floated in a cross from the right, which Gonzalo met with a perfectly-timed header for his third goal in four games in the tournament. Juve responded with Portuguese winger Francisco Conceicao bringing Courtois into action from a low shot, the Belgian shot-stopper did well to get down to. But Real wanted to finish the contest off, and Valverde tested Di Gregorio's reactions with an overhead kick before Alonso decided to introduce Mbappe to the delight of the 62,149 crowd. Juve's belief remained, however, and Nicolas Gonzalez flashed a 25-yard drive just wide. And Ekitike's stats are generally not as impressive as Isak's. Yet there are admirers who believe that Ekitike has a higher ceiling and could end up becoming one of the best strikers in the world. Ekitike is tall, at almost 6ft 3in, yet has excellent feet and speed, like the Swede. His debut season in Germany, after his loan move from Paris Saint-Germain was made permanent, was impressive - 15 goals and eight assists in 33 Bundesliga appearances. Which compares favourably to Arsenal target Ekitike and But it wasn't a case of Marmoush making his sidekick look good. Ekitike scored nearly half his league goals (seven) and more than half his assists (five) AFTER main man Marmoush played his last game for the club. He also caught the eye in the Europa League, even before his excellent long-range goal against Tottenham in the quarter-final first leg. But Eintracht have not yet spent all the Marmoush money. So they are more than happy to hold out for the 100m Euros (£86m) they believe Ekitike is worth in the current market. There are reasons for Liverpool, Arsenal and others to think hard, of course. Ekitike has had just one good season in a big five European league - a bit like Premier League flops While his 15 goals - level with Marmoush, who played just over half the season, and 11 behind leader Harry Kane - are another slight cause for concern. Isak, with 23 PL strikes, was second only to Mohamed Salah. Even Ekitike's cheerleaders at The Transfer Flow podcast and bulletin point out that, for a big lad, Ekitike is not great at heading. Nor is Isak, but Sesko definitely is. They also note that Ekitike gets knocked off the ball easily and his off-the-ball work against teams with better defences is not elite. Yet they still identified him as the striker who should be Liverpool's top target - even at £85m. If Arsenal decide to go for an out-and-out goalscorer, maybe Viktor Gyokeres would be a better option. But if the Gunners and the Reds want an all-round centre forward like Isak - and they do - then Ekititke would be a great back-up candidate. And at a much lower price, could even turn out to be the better long-term option. 8
