Rising Korean star Bibi is coming to Hong Kong on her world tour

Time Out01-06-2025
South Korean singer-songwriter and actress Bibi has just kick started her first-ever world tour 'Eve' – starting with Seoul, she is taking the stage across the US and Canada before making her way back to Asian cities including Hong Kong, Bangkok, Singapore, Osaka, Tokyo, Fukuoka, Taipei, and Jakarta, finally also extending to Australia and New Zealand towards the latter part of this year.
Since her debut in 2019, Bibi has established herself as a strong contender in the Korean hip-hop scene, with a genre-bending sound that blends R&B, indie rock, and funk-pop influences. She unapologetically explores themes of mental distress and self-discovery, and her music video for Derre featured herself in a queer romantic storyline, which is rarely seen in the oft-sanitised mainstream Korean music industry. Bibi's 2024 single Bam Yang Gang also swiftly became viral for its accompanying challenge of singing the song while eating bamyanggeaeng chestnut jelly.
She has just released her second studio album Eve: Romance in May, so expect to hear bangers like Hongdae R&B, Bluebird, and more performed live. Bibi will take the stage at the AsiaWorld-Expo on Sunday, August 3, with tickets running from $699 to $1,799. The VIP packages will include a special laminate and lanyard, an autographed postcard, early access to merch, access to the pre-show soundcheck party, and a group photo with Bibi herself for VVIPs.
Official fans can get first pick of tickets with the pookïe Membership (Global) pre-sale at 10am on Wednesday, June 4, followed by the Live Nation members pre-sale at 4pm on the same day. Tickets for the general public will then be released from 3pm onwards on June 5.

US stars Jelly Roll and Shaboozey are headed to Australia for inaugural country music festival Strummingbird

US country music stars Jelly Roll and Shaboozey are headed to Australia later this year, to perform at the inaugural Strummingbird festival. The singers will top the line-up at the three-city country music festival from the team behind the iconic Spilt Milk concerts, kicking off this October. Headlining the festival is Jelly Roll, 40, the beloved Nashville hitmaker whose anthemic songs have earned him four Grammy nominations and a massive global following. Joining him is Shaboozey, 30, the iconic singer behind the smash hit A Bar Song (Tipsy), which topped the ARIA Singles Chart and went 2x Platinum in Australia. The music stars will first take the stage on Saturday, October 25th at Kawana Sports Precinct on the Sunshine Coast. From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the DailyMail's new showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. They will then perform at Newcastle Foreshore, Newcastle on Saturday, November 1, before finishing up at Claremont Showground in Perth on November 2. They will be joined by a stacked line-up of international and local talent, including Treaty Oak Revival, James Johnston, Kaylee Bell, Matt Hansen, Drew Baldridge and Hot Dub Time Machine. Live Nation shared the exciting announcement on social media: 'Strummingbird have just announced their toe-tapping, hat-tipping 2025 line up!' Pre-sale tickets will be available from Thursday. Tickets will range in price from approximately $170 - $215. Organisers told social media fans about what they could expect when attending: 'The festival runs for over 10 hours. You don't have to come at the very start. 'There will be two musical stages, mechanical bull, barbecue, beverages and a whole lot more to enjoy. We'll release playing times closer to the event.' With a mix of chart-topping headliners, rising country stars, and laidback festival vibes, Strummingbird is set to become Australia's newest must-see music event. The exciting news comes as a welcome surprise in a time when the live music industry in Australia is facing significant challenges. This year has seen a slew of major music festivals axed, including multi-city event Listen Out, R'n'B festival Souled Out and the ever-iconic Splendour in the Grass. It was revealed in January that Splendour in the Grass would not be returning in 2025. Organisers officially confirmed that the beloved Byron Bay music festival would not go ahead for a second year in a row via social media. The 2024 Splendour festival, which was set to feature the likes of Kylie Minogue, G Flip, Tash Sultana, and Fontaines D.C., was axed less than a week after tickets went on sale, with organisers citing 'unexpected events' as the reason behind the last-minute cancellation. There is no guarantee that the festival is slated to return in 2026, however, organisers asked music fans to 'think of it as a breather so we can come back even bigger and better when the time is right.'
