Atsila to be added to Irish 1,000 Guineas field
She did not make her debut until April this year when winning a minor event at Bellewstown but she stepped up markedly on that a month later to win the Group Three Athasi Stakes at the Curragh.
"The plan is to supplement her on Tuesday for the 1,000 Guineas," said O'Brien.
"Her form looks strong. To be fair to Barry (Fowler, owner) he is game for anything. It was my fault that I didn't have her in the race in the first place but he's more than happy to supplement and take a chance.
"I think she's entitled to be in the race."
O'Brien also plans on being represented in the Tattersalls Irish 2,000 Guineas by Comanche Brave after he pushed Henri Matisse close on his seasonal return and the winner subsequently went and won the French Guineas.
"He is working very well and I think he'll probably outrun his odds," said O'Brien.
"He's not a big horse but he's always worked like a very good horse. We're going to give him a chance in the Guineas.
"We could end up going back to seven for the Jersey at Ascot. He's working very well so I'm happy to let him take his chance."
Stable star Porta Fortuna, a multiple Group One winner last year, is on course to return in the Lanwades Stud Stakes.
"She's going to go to the Lanwades. She's in good form. She put on plenty of weight. Everything has gone smooth with her but she's probably taken a bit longer to get fit this year.
"She's probably going to take the run and then go to Ascot but she's in great form so I'm looking forward to getting her back on track."
O'Brien also mentioned that Falling Snow, by Justify out of Winter, would miss the 1,000 Guineas but be back in the second half of the season.

Tornado Alert has been entered into the big races at the Juddmonte International in York and the Celebration Mile at Goodwood next month, but Bin Suroor isn't hurrying to finalise future plans, stating: "We'll see how he comes back after the race and then we'll make a decision. "He's a horse who is improving all the time. He ran well at Royal Ascot, his form is very good and he has improved every time he has run. "Physically he looks better now than when he finished fourth in the Guineas, but with time and age that is what you would expect. "He has plenty of speed, but I think a mile and a quarter is his best trip at the moment."

From Toronto traffic to Croke Park: Donegal fan scores final ticket thanks to cop's banter
A spot of banter on the streets of Toronto has turned into a precious All-Ireland Final ticket for one lucky Donegal woman. Clare O'Brien will be at today's game with her new friend Conor Holly – a Canadian policeman with Irish parents – thanks to a series of fortunate events that began unfolding on the day of Donegal's semi-final victory over Meath two weeks ago. Ms O'Brien was sitting in traffic in Toronto, where she has lived for around three-and-a-half years, along with her visiting mother and stepfather. She told 'We'd been away for the weekend and were coming back through the city. 'I still had my Donegal jersey on and the window down, and a cop cycled past and shouted 'Up Kerry!' at me, in through the window. @ #donegalgaa #donegal #toronto #canadalife #torontolifestyle ♬ original sound – 'My mum is going through a little bit of a TikTok phase, so she happened to be recording at that time, caught it on camera, and was like, 'Oh my God, this is hilarious. The video eventually got back to the cheeky policeman, Mr Holly, who then got in touch with Ms O'Brien's mother Connie directly. Born and raised in Toronto, Mr Holly's father is from Kerry and his mother is from Belfast. 'He asked us if we wanted a tour of the police station that he works in,' Ms O'Brien said. 'So Mum, of course, said yes, and added, 'Clare will wear her Donegal jersey and you can wear your Kerry jersey.' They took us around the whole station. It was lovely.' But Mr Holly got in contact on Wednesday to say that his father had secured a few tickets for the match, if she'd like to have one. Ms O'Brien said: 'I was actually at work drinks, and I was like, 'I might need this evening to think about that,' – last-minute flights back are obviously really expensive. 'But I let my family know, and they were like, 'Oh my God, you have to come. This is such an opportunity.'' Ms O'Brien, who is programme manager for a digital mental health company, accepted the ticket the next day and flew overnight last night, due to land at 11.30am today. Mr Holly flew into Ireland on Friday. 'His dad is coming too,' Ms O'Brien said. 'He said it's been his dad's dream to see Kerry in Croke Park.' 'He has that kind of Irish, chatty way about him, even though he's Canadian.' While the serendipitous meeting and ensuing friendship could be the set-up for a rom-com, Ms O'Brien laughed that her girlfriend 'might not be too impressed with that'. She plans to stay in Ireland for a week, and will be heading straight home to Letterkenny after today's game.

Kalpana attempting to beat the boys in King George
Kalpana returns to the scene of her finest hour for a mouthwatering renewal of the King George VI And Queen Elizabeth Stakes. Andrew Balding's charge rounded off her three-year-old campaign with Group One success over the course and distance on Champions Day and has not done much wrong in two starts since, finishing third in the Tattersalls Gold Cup and then second in the Pretty Polly Stakes in Ireland. Back on home soil, Kalpana is the only filly in a field of five, with Oisin Murphy deputising in the saddle for the suspended Colin Keane. Barry Mahon, racing manager for owner-breeders Juddmonte, said: "We're all set for Saturday, I think we were hoping for a bit more rain than has actually fallen, but it is what it is and I'm sure it'll be nice ground on the day. "It's a top-class renewal, as you would expect for such a good race, but we're looking forward to partaking in it." Juddmonte's Bluestocking found only Goliath too strong in last year's King George before going on to win the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe in the colours of the late Khalid Abdullah, who also claimed Ascot's midsummer highlight with Dancing Brave and superstar mare Enable, the latter on three occasions. Both of those equine greats also landed Europe's premier middle-distance contest, Enable doing so in successive years in 2017 and 2018, and a potential trip to Paris in early October has already been pencilled in for Kalpana ahead of what connections admit is a stern test this weekend. "Rebel's Romance is such a legend of a horse and Calandagan and Jan Brueghel are obviously very, very talented," Mahon added. "We think going back up to a mile and a half will suit our filly and Andrew said she worked well on Wednesday morning and he's very happy with her, so we're hopeful that her first two runs have set her up nicely for this." The top two in the market are Jan Brueghel and Calandagan, who renew rivalry after finishing first and second in the Coronation Cup at Epsom in early June. While Calandagan has since broken his top-level duck in the Grand Prix de Saint-Cloud, Jan Brueghel has been kept fresh by Aidan O'Brien and is interestingly fitted with cheekpieces for the first time as he bids to provide his trainer with a fifth King George success. O'Brien, who also saddles the rank outsider and probable pacemaker Continuous, said: "Jan Brueghel is good, everything has gone well since the last day. "It will be an interesting race and the ground looks like it's going to be nice. "Continuous rolls along usually and he'll go forward, but if someone else wants to go on (and make the running), he'll be happy too." Francis Henri-Graffard's Calandagan has already shown his liking for Ascot, dominating his rivals in the King Edward VII Stakes at the Royal meeting last summer before finishing a close second to Anmaat in October's Champion Stakes. Buoyed by his long-awaited first Group One success on home soil four weeks ago, connections are excited to be heading back to Berkshire. Nemone Routh, racing manager for owners the Aga Khan Studs in France, said: "The horse is in very good form, he took his win at Saint-Cloud very well. I spoke with Mickael Barzalona who rode him in his last piece of work and he's very happy with him. "It's a small field, but he has to take on Jan Brueghel again and obviously Rebel's Romance was impressive last time out. "He doesn't have much ground to make up on Jan Brueghel and although they were calling the ground good to soft at Epsom, we felt it was riding softer that day. He handles softer ground so we can't use that as an excuse, but I just think maybe his acceleration is a a bit more decisive on firmer ground. "When it becomes a heavy-duty slugging match I'm not sure that's really his game, but when he can use his acceleration on good, fast ground I think that's when he's at his best." The small but select field is completed by Rebel's Romance, who has won seven Group Ones on foreign soil and bids to break his top-level duck at home following his course-and-distance success in last month's Hardwicke Stakes. Speaking on the Godolphin website, trainer Charlie Appleby said: "Rebel's Romance goes into this in great order. There was plenty of strength in depth in this contest 12 months ago, when he ran a good race (finished third), and it looks a similarly strong renewal this time around. "He is taking on younger opposition again but, wherever he finishes, the others will know that they have had a race."
