Spice Girls make £600,000 in record sales ahead of rumoured world tour

Daily Mirror29-05-2025
The Spice Girls' accounts show there is still an appetite for their music amid rumours they are set to reunite for a huge world tour
The Spice Girls made more than £600,000 last year from money-spinning record sales - fuelling speculation that there could be a 30th anniversary reunion. Accounts for their firm Spice Girls Ltd show that they received £613, 275 in royalties for 2023.
The firm also retained more than £32,000 in cash in its coffers. Geri Horner and band guru Simon Fuller are said to be back in touch, with rumours the pair were meeting up in Miami earlier this year.

Victoria Beckham has told pals she is '90 percent out of the running' but Geri, Emma Bunton, Mel B and Mel C are said to be considering a lucrative world tour next year. There have even been claims that Victoria could appear as an 'avatar', used in the hugely successful Abba shows in London. The Spice Girls' debut single 'Wannabe' was released in 1996 and propelled them to global fame. The latest accounts show there is still an appetite for their music, and suggest a demand to see them in concert.

Mel Brown has hinted that a world tour is possible. They would follow in the footsteps of Beyonce and Taylor Swift, who enjoyed hugely lucrative ticket sales for their shows. Taylor Swift grossed £1.4bn in ticket sales.

Mel, known as Scary Spice, hinted this week that there could be plans on the horizon for the girls.
'We've got a year to work on them. Let's put it that way,' she said. The group has not performed as a five piece since the 2012 Olympics Closing Ceremony. They did a reunion tour in 2019 without Victoria.
In April last year, all five spent an evening together as part of Victoria's 50th birthday celebrations. It added to the hopes that they could be set to get back together again.

Band members have spoken openly of that as a possibility for next year. As a guest on Australia 's 2Day FM in March, Mel C said: 'It's 30 years next year since the release of Wannabe. We have to do something special.
"Obviously I can't say too much, but we are talking about things. Hopefully a nice little world tour."
In April, Geri said: "My hope is we come back together as a collective."
Geri said they still had love and respect for each other, again sparking hopes of a reunion.

EXCLUSIVE Tennis at the Australian Open, a visit to Ramsey Street... and Roar & Uncut tracks down James Haskell in the pool during the Lions' tour

Nik and Kev's Lions tour adventure continued as they arrived in Melbourne for the crescendo moment of the series. They touched down in Victoria where they were reunited with some old friends to show them the city that prides itself on being every bit different. With hidden gems around every corner, they ended up stepping out of the rugby bubble to experience street art, coffee culture and the state's vibrant multi-culture. Here is what the guys got up to in the fifth episode of Roar & Uncut, in association with Dr Squatch. MONDAY It was an early start for the Wallabies ' press conference at the Crowne Plaza Melbourne by IHG. As the official tour partners, IHG decked out the riverside hotel with paraphernalia ahead of the big match, so we checked out their pop-up bar before heading out of town to Ramsay Street. The Neighbours set brought back a few teenage memories, visiting the houses that played out so many storylines for the likes of the Bishops and the Kennedies. TUESDAY All kitted up, we made tracks to the iconic blue tennis courts that host the Australian Open. Kev prides himself on being the Essex schoolboys champion at Under 15 level so we brought Mail Sport columnist Dan Biggar along to step up the competition. Dan was a professional sportsman until last month and his athleticism shone through, wiping the court with both of us to win the inaugural Dr Squatch trophy. After the match, we stopped off at Proud Mary, which was recently named in the top 10 coffee shops in the world, to fuel up before the Lions match against the Pasifika XV. WEDNESDAY We boarded a boat up the river for a memorable tour of the Melbourne Cricket Ground. It is a colossus of an arena, with 100,024 seats that host concerts, AFL, cricket and more. Damien Fleming, Australia's fast bowler from the 1990s, gave the travelling media a private tour, joining us for lunch in the Long Room. Come Christmas, the iconic stadium will be packed to its old rafters for the upcoming Ashes series. THURSDAY After Andy Farrell and Joe Schmidt named their teams for the second Test, we visited the Lightscape exhibition at the Royal Botanic Gardens. It was an immersive display featuring dozens of illuminations, strolling through floral canopies that offered an enchanting escape from the day-to-day touring schedule. And then it was back to the MCG, where the Hawks were hosting Carlton in an all-Victorian AFL derby. FRIDAY Our hotel, the voco Melbourne Central by IHG, was situated in the heart of the action. We were surrounded by the bright lights of China Town, vibrant street art and independent outlets on every corner. James Haskell and Mike Tindall were also staying in our hotel, as part of their work with the The Good, The Bad & The Rugby. We caught up with Haskell in the hotel's skyline swimming pool, where he shared a few hilarious anecdotes from his rugby career. SATURDAY Match day in Melbourne, but not before some fish and chips down on the beach in St Kilda. We boarded the city's free tram service for a hit of sea air, enjoying the winter coastline. Then it was back to the MCG to join more than 90,000 supporters for the series-defining Test. Kev was a guest of Qatar Airways in their hospitality area, while Nik was sat up in the media tribune to report on a thrilling Lions victory for the ages. Roar & Uncut comes to you in association with Dr Squatch, ensuring Nik and Kev are the best-smelling guys on tour.

Victoria Beckham shares daughter Harper Seven's go-to blusher from her beauty line

Victoria Beckham's beauty line is just as much a hit with her family as it is with fans, as daughter Harper Seven shows how to use her water tint blusher for a natural glow It's no secret that ever since she launched her eponymous beauty line, Victoria Beckham 's makeup has been a huge hit with fans. Everything from the creamy eyeliners (a firm favourite of Claudia Winkleman) to the perfume range inspired by her and David Beckham 's love stories have racked up countless fans, and it seems even her family love wearing her products. Recently Victoria shared a video of their daughter Harper Seven trying out one of Victoria Beckham Beauty's latest launches, her Colour Wash Blush Water Tint (£44) which is perfect for getting that natural-looking flush for summer. In the Instagram video, Harper showed how to apply the liquid blusher, with fans praising the look saying: 'Thank you for showing how teens can wear so little makeup and look natural.' The Colour Wash Blush Water Tint has an unusual water-like formula that is applied with a pipette and soaks into the skin, giving a natural-looking flush that looks like it comes from within. It's easy to blend, with Harper only using her fingers to dab the blush into her cheeks, nose and eyelids, as well as using it as a subtle lip tint. Despite its lightweight liquid formula, it's a slow setting stain which gives you plenty of time to blend it in and apply it exactly where you want it. Once it's settled into your skin, though, it has a long-lasting wear time that doesn't fade or smudge. To use the Colour Wash Blush Water Tint, you simply press the top of the bottle to release formula into the pipette, before dotting the metal-tipped dropper exactly where you want the colour to sit. Then use your fingers or a brush to blend, with the product working just as well on clean, bare skin as it does over the top of other makeup products. Harper opted for the shade Flushed, which is a sheer red and Victoria's go-to signature shade. However you can also pick up two other shades, including a brighter coral and a deep berry mauve colour. The blusher has a similar formula to the iconic Benefit Benetint Lip And Cheek Stain, which you can pick up for £22.50, albeit with a slightly thinner texture. If you prefer something slightly denser, the Saie Dew Blush (£22) combines blusher and highlighter for a glowy, sheer wash of colour. Alternatively, the Glossier Cloud Paint Gel Cream Blush (also £22) has thicker cream-like texture with a sheer finish, strong colour pay off and nine different shades to choose from. However if you want to copy Victoria and Harper Seven's ultra-natural look, you can pick up the Colour Wash Blush Water Tint directly from Victoria Beckham Beauty now.

Footy bad boy Jordan De Goey reveals baby joy with his TV star girlfriend Aisha Jade McKinnon

Collingwood star Jordan De Goey has revealed he and partner Aisha Jade McKinnon are expecting their first child, calling the joyful news 'the greatest surprise of them all'. The couple made the big reveal on Instagram, sharing a photo of De Goey's hands cradling McKinnon's baby bump, accompanied by an ultrasound video and a clip of the moment the overjoyed Magpies forward found out he is going to be a dad. 'In the midst of our changing lives we were blessed with the greatest surprise of them all, baby girl coming soon,' read the caption on the post. Their announcement drew congratulatory messages from De Goey's teammates Isaac Quaynor and Mason Cox, as well as Annalise Dalins, the fiancée of Pies star Josh Daicos. McKinnon - who starred on Big Brother and is forging a career in fashion design - made their romance official last October when they attended Collingwood's best and fairest night. The couple have bought a farm together and McKinnon has previously opened up about her man's reputation as a bad boy off the field. The footy glamour couple are due to have a daughter - with the announcement drawing messages of congratulations from other AFL stars De Goey briefly ended up in a New York jail in October 2021 after pleading not guilty to a charge of forcible touching in a New York night club, and he made headlines in 2022 when a video emerged of him touching and exposing a woman's breast at a nightclub in Bali. The 29-year-old was slammed by fans and footy experts when he said he had 'made mistakes' because he has attention deficit hyperactivity disorder. 'Late last year, I was diagnosed with ADHD and I am trying to become more aware of why I make mistakes that I do. I have again made a mistake – this is an ongoing journey for me – and I remain absolutely committed to changing,' De Goey said in an official Collingwood statement. He joked that he would have to 'lock himself inside his house to stay out of trouble' before going on to star for Collingwood as they won the premiership in 2023. 'It's sad because I know a very different Jordy,' McKinnon said in December last year. 'He's really lovely. We definitely value our privacy, we connected on that, and we both have unique jobs and support each other.' De Goey has only played five games this year as premiership favourites Collingwood sit atop the ladder. Problems with his Achilles tendon and concussion have kept him out of the AFL since round nine, but he took a big step on Saturday as he played in the VFL.
