A star is born in the hairdressing world
His wife thought about this for a contemplative moment, then replied: 'Anywhere that doesn't take us past a Charles Rennie Mackintosh building, cos I can't be bothered with you giving me another lecture on how great he was.'
Poor hubby looked crestfallen.
Milk teeth
Time to enter the jaws of despair.
'I'm not saying people in my area have bad teeth,' says reader Barry Molloy. 'But I saw a bloke smile in Sainsbury's and the barcode scanner picked it up as a two-pint bottle of milk.'
Mouthing off
The Diary continues to examine the gory innards of people's mouths.
Claire Meehan's son visited the dentist and was surprised when the bloke with the pointy implements told him that, at the relatively mature age of 19, he had two new teeth burrowing their way through his gums.
'So you've got a couple of wisdom teeth coming in,' said Claire, when the lad returned home.
From behind his newspaper, Claire's husband muttered: 'That can't be right. I've never seen any evidence of wisdom. Are you sure they aren't eejit teeth?'
Talk is cheap
More teenage shenanigans.
Reader Nick Yorke went with his 17-year-old son to Glasgow to see the Fantastic Four movie.
As the pair returned home on the train, Nick's son realised, to his horror, that his phone was out of charge, meaning he wouldn't be able to sit hypnotised by TikTok videos for the remainder of the journey.
Nick told the boy that all was not lost, and the journey might not be a total wash-out.
'We could just, y'know, chat for a bit,' said Nick hopefully.
Nick's son merely shrugged, then said: 'Yeah, that… or I could sit here in despair.'
After a beat, the boy concluded: 'I'll just sit here in despair.'
Heroes to zeroes
On the subject of the Fantastic Four.
Reader Tony Kerr reminds us that the blockbuster flick would have been more fun if the superhero gang were Glasgow based, with suitably appropriate names.
Instead of Mr Fantastic we'd have… Mr Awright.
The Thing would be… The Hingmy.
The Invisible Woman… Mrs Ward-she-go?!
And The Human Torch… Burny Boab.

Mo Gilligan's ex makes cryptic dig at comedian after he shared clip of secret son
Comedian Mo Gilligan was accused of being a 'deadbeat dad' by his ex, Selina Christoforou, who has now shared a cryptic post seemingly aimed at the TV personality Mo Gilligan had been hitting headlines in the last week after the mother of his first child has slammed him as a "deadbeat dad" and claimed he doesn't see his first born. The comedian, 37, is getting ready to welcome his first child with current partner Taia Tulher, 28, but his ex Selina Christoforou, 35, posted an explosive video on TikTok where she claimed he already has a child but is a "deadbeat dad". Selina claimed she knows how few times the star has met his son Rudi and insisted you "can't make someone be a dad". Their son was born in January 2024, and Selina claimed she could "count on her fingers and toes" how many times Mo has seen their child over the last 17 months. Comedian Mo stayed silent on the claims made by Selina, he seemingly hit back at her with a post featuring Rudi. In a post shared last week, the short black and white clip showed a little boy playing a giant game of Connect 4. It comes after Helen Skelton and Gethin Jones split as he joins a notorious dating app on a lads' holiday. Mo decided to keep the boy's identity hidden, but included a very telling song alongside the clip. He paired it with Emotionless by Drake, which featured the lyrics: "I wasn't hidin' my kid from the world / I was hidin' the world from my kid. "From empty souls, who just wake up and look to debate / Until you starin' at your seed, you can never relate, Breakin' news in my life, I don't run to the blogs / The only ones I wanna tell are the ones I can call. "They always ask, why let the story run if it's false? /You know, a wise man once said nothin' at all." Days after his post, Selina took to her Instagram Stories to share a cryptic message on her Stories. The lyrics of Lorde's Man of the Year displayed over a black screen. The lyrics read: "Let's hear it for the man of the year. Hear it for the man of the year." After the song came out, TikTok users started using it to showcase all the wrong or hurtful things the men in their lives have done. Posts included screenshots of heartbreaking texts, rude Snapchats, mean encounters, voice memos and more. Mo never announced he had become a father when Rudi was born and it has been reported he met model Selina online. "She found out she was pregnant in May 2023 and it was quite a shock for them both because they'd been fairly careful," a source said. Speaking to the Sun they added: "She found out she was pregnant in May 2023 and it was quite a shock for them both because they'd been fairly careful. But she wanted to have the baby, despite the fact they weren't actually a couple. "She adores their son and Mo sees him semi-regularly. Now he's about to become a dad for a second time and he's over the moon. He has been with Taia for quite a long time now and he feels ready to settle down.'

For our free daily briefing on the biggest issues facing the nation, sign up to the Wales Matters newsletter here Some American viewers have drawn comparisons between the girl and children's book character Junie B Jones and The Grinch character Cindy Lou Who. The footage appears to start with a young girl in a pink coat and her family having a heated exchange with a group of security staff outside a shop, alongside another group of shoppers. It's unclear what is being said, but security can be seen separating the two groups of shoppers, reports the Manchester Evening News. As the clip progresses, the girl and her family depart, before another young girl hurls an unidentified object in the direction of where the security guards and the other group of shoppers are standing. Another clip, which is believed to have been filmed following the earlier footage, shows the youngster in the pink jacket on a descending escalator accompanied by two security personnel. She then clambers onto the central divide between the two moving staircases before scaling the stationary upward escalator and ascending the steps. Upon reaching the trop of the escalator, the footage captures her approaching a cluster of shoppers who are observing the unfolding chaos. The video then records her confronting a female shopper before proceeding to grab them by the hair. She subsequently returns down the escalator sporting a grin. Videos show the girls arguing with security at the shopping centre (Image: TikTok) The sequence of clips has attracted polarised reactions, with viewers either celebrating the young girl as a 'diva' or condemning her behaviour. One individual remarked on the footage: "the pink jacket girl CLIMBING OVER the escalator, going back down it, and then going back up just gag her is frying me like WHO IS THIS DIVA LMFAOOO." They continued: "this entire situation is so chaotic i'm crying". Another declared: "That escalator wasn't ready for a diva moment". Whilst some viewers found the footage amusing, others expressed disapproval of her conduct. One person stated: "I don't find her behaviour that funny." Another individual observed: "Parents need to start parenting." Others also challenged those who were glorifying the behaviour shown in the clip, with one person questioning: "What an imbecile. Endangering others safety as well as her own. Why we calling her diva again?" One individual remarked: "Hateee the way everyone's hyping this child up, like that is not a diva stop enabling this behaviour omg." Another added: "maybe it's because i actually have kids and I'd die of embarrassment if they were like this, but the response to this girl overall being "go off queen" is so ****ed." However, while some believe the incident has occurred recently, the Manchester Evening News has confirmed that the original videos were first posted on TikTok in March 2022 by @dreams_dreams24. The same user has recently reposted the videos, which has led to 'pink coat girl' becoming a viral topic on TikTok. Shameless actress Kelli Hollis is among those who have shared their views on the clips online. Describing her as a 'little madam' to her 293,000 followers, Kelli says in a video: "She ain't a little diva, her. She's going to be a little ****ing nightmare is what she is." She added: "It's funny because it's just pure cheek but she's a little madam." A spokesperson for Manchester Arndale has now told the Manchester Evening News: "We're aware of a video that has been recently circulated on social media, which shows an altercation that took place in Manchester Arndale and was attended by members of our Security team. Article continues below "Following a review of the footage, we can confirm that this is a historic incident that occurred several years ago."

The ‘curl & scrunch' trick Princess Andre swears by for gorgeous long waves with zero heat damage
SHE may be a nepo baby who grew up in the spotlight, but Princess Andre is now paving her own way. Just last week, she was crowned Tatler's second best-dressed star in Britain. Advertisement 4 Princess Andre has revealed her hair hack when perfecting the curl Credit: TikTok 4 She explained what the 'curl & scrunch' is Credit: TikTok 4 Princess also revealed how to do the curly hair trick without using heat Credit: Getty And it's not just fashion where she's making waves - the daughter of Peter Andre and Katie Price is also a beauty icon, with fans clamouring for her hair secrets. Princess has become known for her stunning, long, naturally curly hair, and the secret to her gorgeous locks is a simple, heat-free trick she recently shared on TikTok. For anyone wanting to achieve beautiful, bouncy waves without using a curling iron, her "curl & scrunch" method is a game-changer. The 18-year-old posted a step-by-step tutorial for her 882.9k followers, and the video has since gone viral with 1.2 million views and 53.6k likes. Advertisement The key to her routine isn't heat, but the right combination of products and a technique that enhances her natural curls. How to Get the Look The process starts with a good brush to ensure there are "absolutely no knots." Princess then sections her hair, clipping the top half out of the way to focus on the bottom. She makes sure each section is "soaked" with water before adding a "good amount" of curl cream. Advertisement "I feel like this is a really important step," she explains, "but always brush away from your face. I just feel like this defines the curls so much more." Trailer for the upcoming series of The Princess Diaries starring Princess Andre The magic truly happens with her signature two-step method: finger curling and scrunching. She precisely finger curls her hair to make the curls "so defined," then scrunches her hair, listening for that "squishy noise" that tells her the product is working. After repeating this on all sections, she scrunches her hair with a towel and then flips her head forward to add mousse or gel for extra hold. Advertisement Although she says she doesn't diffuse her hair until it's "fully dry," she does use a diffuser for a little bit before letting the rest air-dry. 4 Princess has also recently renewed a major beauty deal Credit: Instagram The result is her signature head of gorgeous, bouncy waves—all done with minimal heat. Fans flocked to the comments to praise her look, with one writing: "You've always had beautiful hair. Advertisement "Love this pretty girl." Another added: "Beautiful young woman. While a third simply commented: "Beautiful." Princess Andre has renewed her major beauty deal with Studio London for a second year. Advertisement Last year, she was announced as the face of the brand's affordable cosmetics line and will continue to work with them for another 12 months. An insider revealed: 'Princess has been a huge hit with Superdrug and they couldn't wait to snap her up again. 'She has such wide appeal and has already shown just how much she can do for the brand.'
