Meghan Markle commented on the furore over her use of flower sprinkles in her Netflix show.
The Duchess of Sussex sprinkled edible flowers on a range of dishes and froze them into ice cubes to use in cocktails during episodes of With Love, Meghan, released in March.
Some said they liked the trick while others ridiculed it, during heated debate that followed the cooking show.

What Meghan Markle Said About Flower Sprinkles
Time CEO Jessica Sibley asked Meghan about the edible flowers, and the duchess replied: "It's like a little fairy, if I could just be tossing them around all the time. The obsession that has come with flower sprinkles I was not expecting.
"Of all the things to be talking about for Time100, let's talk about flower sprinkles. But let's, because I think it speaks to the tiny moments of joy that are so effortless and just create a little bit of magic that we are all craving in our everyday.
"They're tiny little flower petals that are dried. I started putting them on salads, I started putting them on scrambled eggs, it didn't actually matter, on a yoghurt parfait.
"The level of charm that you find people have when they see these tiny little dried petals is something I can't wrap my head around but i appreciate that there is a love for the detail and the small level of delight that can be added.
"So, take flower sprinkles really as an analogy and think about what you can do in your every day life that can have a little splash of magic on unexpected moments."
Reaction to Meghan Markle's Flower Sprinkles
Some of most biting criticism was on social media where Meghan was mocked for saying she "loved taking something pretty ordinary and elevating it."
One user on X, formerly Twitter, posted a photo of fish and chips with flowers on top after the show's release in March and wrote: "Plated up my takeaway and elevated."
The post was viewed 423,000 times and liked 5,000 times. Actress Justine Bateman replied: "Is this from Meghan Markle's new show?"

A review in British broadsheet The Daily Telegraph carried the headline: "What I've always wanted—a lesson from Meghan on freezing an edible flower inside an ice cube."
The tongue-in-cheek article suggested Meghan was "freezing the cutest edible flower petals in ice cubes—then serving them in cocktails for your impossibly gorgeous friends! You have finally identified your USP and I wish you every success in living your best life for us all to endu... enjoy."
A writer for New York Magazine's Vulture also appeared puzzled: "Meghan's science teacher Mr. Ben — who, she explains, passed away somewhat recently — taught her that some flowers make colorful, festive adornments on food.
"So Meghan now puts flowers on everything: cake, donuts, crudité platters, rainbow fruit salad, frittata, and so on. These are known as 'flower sprinkles.' Flower Sprinkles? Look, I didn't come up with it."

Wednesday's Creator Got Real About Jenna Ortega's Comments Regarding Having To Put Her Foot Down During Season 1
When you buy through links on our articles, Future and its syndication partners may earn a commission. Wednesday Season 2 will finally be premiering soon on the 2025 TV schedule, and the wait has been excruciating. It seems like forever since the series premiered on Netflix in 2022, but the second season will be here in a matter of days. Between seeing what Jenna Ortega's titular Addams Family character will be getting up to and the insane guest stars, there will be a lot to look forward to. A lot has also changed, not only in the show but behind the scenes, and Wednesday's creator is getting real about the star of the show putting her foot down in Season 1. Ortega has been open about how hard filming Wednesday's inaugural season was and revealed she had to put her foot down when it came to certain aspects. She worked long and hard hours on the show and even almost passed out while filming Season 1. While she received backlash after saying aspects of the show 'made no sense' and she was changing lines on set, she didn't let up. And it turned out to be a good thing, and creator Alfred Gough praised her for what she did and what it turned into while talking to The Hollywood Reporter: Jenna gave notes on the scripts. She's now a producer. She's very involved, and she has a 360-degree view of things that, frankly, you don't find with most actors. I think she'll have a long career. It likely wasn't easy for Ortega to really put her foot down about the environment on Wednesday and what she was experiencing. It also couldn't have been easy for Gough to hear about what was going on, and what the Scream actress thought of the series. But he seems to be liking the charge that she took. Now, as a producer, Ortega has more of a say and can better control things for the acclaimed Netflix hit. And I hope that Gough is right about Ortega having a long career. Jenna Ortega admitted to being an 'unhappy person' during Season 1, but her mentality has since changed since she's able to sit in on meetings, listen, and learn more. She also has a lot more say in what goes into the second season, like wanting to add more horror and gore to the show, which is what's happening. It should be interesting to see how different Season 2 is compared to Season 1, especially since it already sounds like there were some big changes. Ahead of Wednesday Season 2, the show has already had a third season renewal and is seemingly getting closer to a potential spinoff. It's not so surprising, considering the Addams Family has been a favorite for decades, and there are a lot of stories to tell. But a spinoff for Ortega's series has yet to be confirmed. Fans will soon see what Wednesday Season 2 is all about when the first part drops on August 6, followed by part 2 on September 3, with a Netflix subscription. There are also many upcoming titles on Netflix's schedule to look forward to. Solve the daily Crossword

Woman Uses Her Conditioner on Dog—Discovers She Should've Read Instructions
Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. A dog with an unexpected look has gained viral attention after her owner accidentally used the wrong conditioner. Ella Hart, 55, shared a picture of 4-year-old Hungarian Herding dog Coconut on Reddit where it has more than 7,000 upvotes. In the caption, she said: "This is what happens when you don't read instructions." "She turned pink as I was using my hair conditioner on her. It's a red-enhancing product, but on my hair there wasn't much of a change, so I thought it would be ok," Hart told Newsweek. "[I was] thinking maybe a pale pink that would wash out right away. It didn't." The accidental dye job lasted four months, surviving multiple baths and capturing lots of attention online. A picture of Coconut after her accidentally pink dye job. A picture of Coconut after her accidentally pink dye job. Imperfectyourenot/Reddit Walking Coconut through their home of Toronto became a social experiment in canine fashion. "I found it hilarious. My partner, less so," Hart said. In public, Coconut's pink coat drew a mix of reactions. "Little kids see her and run toward her squealing. It's like a toy coming to life I think. Then there were very serious dog people who were very unimpressed, going by their glares," she said. Still, Hart says most people smiled—and a few were genuinely curious. "At least three people asked if it was real. Seriously. Wishful thinking maybe? Like, who wouldn't want a pink doggie?" she said. Pink happens to be Hart's favorite color, which made walking Coconut a coordinated affair. "When I walked her, I usually was well color coordinated. That was a little much for me, so I started wearing just black," she said. Thankfully, four months later, Coconut's fur has faded back to its original color, and no harm was done. When it comes to washing a dog, its important to make sure to use dog-safe products. Dog skin has a pH between 6.2 and 7.4, whereas human skin is more acidic). Using a human shampoo can disrupt this balance and damage their skin barrier. When choosing a shampoo for your dog, look for phrases like "veterinarian approved," "pH balanced for dogs," or "formulated for pets." Hart shared the story of her shampoo mishap on Reddit, where the tale delighted dog lovers. "This is what happens when you launder the whites with colors," joked one commenter. While another said: "Your candy floss has a face." "I posted it on Reddit for a bunch of reasons. To share the humor, to see comments (Redditors can be hilarious), but mostly as I adore her and will use any excuse to talk about her, show off her photos," Hart said, adding that the reactions were "awesome." This isn't the first time a dog owner has accidentally given their pup a new look. Last month, a man shared how he dyed his pond blue, only to forget how much his Labrador loves swimming. After adding the animal-safe dye, it wasn't long before Macy the dog was also a wonderful shade of blue. Do you have funny and adorable videos or pictures of your pet you want to share?
