Mia Khalifa reflects on Hijab scene: "I Accidentally Became Notorious"

After being convinced to do an explicit scene while cosplaying as a Muslim woman, Mia Khalifa left the adult film industry, reflecting on her time spent working as a prostitute.
When the 21-year-old Lebanese-American sang in the viral video while wearing the hijab—a head covering and modest garment considered sacred by Muslim women—she instantly became well-known.
After being named the top actor on Pornhub, the video went global in a matter of hours, and Khalifa received death threats from both ISIS and Islamophobes.
Raised as a Catholic, Khalifa, now 31, remembers the incident and the reasons it led her to turn away from pornography.

"At first, I didn't have much control over my brand," she told the New York Times. "I accidentally became notorious."
She clarified, "I started working in the adult industry in October 2014, and I was immediately pressured to appear in a video where I was an Arab woman wearing a veil.
"I carried out the plan to take advantage of the fact that I was Arabic and could speak Arabic. The avalanche began shortly after, perhaps a few hours after its broadcast.
Every news outlet covered it, and everyone had an opinion. I had total control over my reputation and appearance. Many people, in my opinion, go through sexy stages between the ages of 20 and 21. Unfortunately, mine was captured in 4K.

When the incident happened, Khalifa claims she heard "whispers in the waiting room" at her place of employment, a law firm.
She claimed that she had to change her job path to one as a social media influencer since she started to feel "uncomfortable" and "like a distraction."
"I realized at that point that there was no chance for improvement or change," she said. "I dislike the way the women I work with look at me, and I particularly dislike the way the men look at me because it's like they're observing a zoo animal."
"I decided to try to be an influencer and a public figure if that was the fate I had sealed for myself, so I reopened social media."

Dave Chappelle: For a Palestinian, DJ Khaled is awfully quiet right now

During a show in Abu Dhabi on Friday night, American comedian Dave Chappelle did not hold back in criticizing US President Donald Trump and his approach to the conflict between 'Israel' and Iran. 'Trump, I don't know about this guy. I can't tell if he's going to do good or not,' Chappelle quipped, referencing the chaotic week in the Middle East. 'What a week you guys must have had over here in the Middle East.' The 51-year-old comedian also ridiculed Trump's social media post from Saturday, in which the president claimed responsibility for targeted strikes on Iranian nuclear facilities. ''We did a meticulously perfect attack. We have disabled their nuclear facility,'' Chappelle said, quoting Trump's Truth Social post. 'And then at the end of the post he said, 'And now is the time for peace!' Word? I don't think that's how this works, champ.' The comic went further, poking fun at the recent controversy surrounding US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, who came under fire in March for reportedly leaking military planning via Signal. 'Trump bombed Iran, in an attack that was carefully planned on WhatsApp,' Chappelle joked, drawing laughter from the crowd. Chappelle also touched on growing anxieties in the US over the region's instability, saying, 'Everybody in America is scared. It's not good when Bible places are in the news. That means it might be the end of times. And if it is, you know what? I had a good run.' When an audience member shouted the name of Palestinian-American DJ Khaled, Chappelle questioned the artist's silence on Gaza. 'DJ Khaled, let me tell you something. For a Palestinian, this man is awfully quiet right now. And as a Palestinian, how could you be that quiet right now? And why are you so fat? People are starving. He's the only fat Palestinian on Earth right now,' he said. Chappelle has been a vocal critic of 'Israel's' actions in Gaza. In his Abu Dhabi show last year, he labeled 'Israel's' bombardment of Gaza 'genocide,' receiving strong applause. While he refrained from naming Palestine directly during his latest set, he made his stance unmistakably clear in the final moments. 'Now that I'm a big powerful voice in America, I've learnt that I have to be careful,' he said. 'I can get in some kind of trouble and they'll try to extort me and put words in my mouth so that I come out here and lie to you.'

Nintendo bans Switch 2 over "Twink Link" username

ALBAWABA - Nintendo recently made headlines after a Switch 2 owner using "Twink Link" as a username had his console permanently banned, despite contacting support about the issue at hand. Upon contacting customer support, the owner was met with alleged laughter from the staff, but the ban's outcome hasn't changed. He received a full system ban, which prevented him from accessing the Switch 2's online services, including multiplayer and the eShop to purchase or download previously owned digital games. Nintendo bans Switch 2 over "Twink Link" username The customer took to Reddit to voice their frustration under the account name 'Funaoe24' and wrote: "I let everyone in my family use my Nintendo Switch 2 system and as a result, my sister uses it. Her username was recently changed to Twink Link and... console ban." He added, "I am fully prevented from accessing any Nintendo services at all on the system. I'm unable to contact support as they're too busy with complaints right now, but this has been incredibly stressful. We were all so excited to be playing Breath of the Wild again." 'Funaoe24' then returned with a "final edit" stating that permanent bans cannot be revoked by Nintendo at all. He added that he will be returning the system to GameStop so another customer can buy it. Nintendo is once again facing backlash from fans, who have voiced concern over the company's terms and conditions for owning a Switch 2. Many also urged fellow gamers to choose their usernames carefully to avoid similar issues.

Beyonce horrifies fans as she suffers mid-air drama in flying car prop

Ammon News - American singer Beyonce sparked panic among fans in her native Texas when the flying prop car she was riding on malfunctioned during her Cowboy Carter show. The red Cadillac the Halo hitmaker, 43, began tilting to one side as she repeatedly said 'stop' into the microphone and the music cut out. Beyonce, whose Cowboy Carter tour arrived at the NRG Stadium in Houston last night, delighted fans as she kicked off with American Requiem followed by a cover of The Beatles classic Blackbird. Yet towards the end of the show, and after an appearance from her daughter Blue Ivy, things took a turn for the worse. During her performance of 16 Carriages, the superstar hopped into a red car which was then lifted high into the air using cables, yet was forced to halt the song as the vehicle leaned dangerously to one side. The crowd paused when she stopped singing and signaled for help, before erupting into cheers as the vehicle was lowered to solid ground. Like a pro, Beyonce continued the song then told her adoring fans: "I wanna thank y'all, for loving me.
