Standards Authority warns against buying & eating Maragatty chicken stock
The Yemeni Standards, Metrology and Quality Control Authority has issued a warning to consumers and traders not to buy or sell the Maragatty chicken stock product of Egyptian origin.
The authority explained in a statement that this product contains prohibited artificial colors that are forbidden to be used in food products due to the negative effects they may cause on consumer health... Alerting consumers, wholesalers and retailers from buying or selling it.
It called on citizens to avoid consuming this product and to report if they discover its presence in the market on the Authority's toll-free number 8001222.
The Authority indicated that it is following up the necessary procedures to ensure that the markets are free of the product in order to preserve the health of the consumer...Emphasizing that the necessary measures will be taken against violators.

General Authority for Science, Research, Technology localizes artificial knee produce, delivers it to Prosthetics Center: Report
Sana'a - Saba: The General Authority for Science, Research, Technology, and Innovation recently designed and manufactured a more advanced prototype of an artificial knee using reverse engineering based on a German model. Dr. Abdulaziz al-Houri, the Authority's Vice Chairman, explained to the Yemeni News Agency (Saba) that the Authority delivered the prototype to the Prosthetics Center, affiliated with the Ministry of Health, for testing and feedback. These feedback will be incorporated and the current product modified accordingly. He added, "After integrating the feedback and modifying the product, the mass production of the artificial knee will begin, in accordance with the Center's request and based on a specific mechanism developed by both parties. This mechanism will contribute to providing the product at the lowest cost compared to its current price of approximately $700, thus achieving the Authority's goal of serving the community." Al-Houri considered the implementation of the project to develop and localize prosthetic limbs using advanced technology a qualitative step toward achieving self-sufficiency in this vital humanitarian field. He emphasized that localizing and manufacturing the artificial knee locally will have a positive impact on other prosthetic products. Al-Houri pointed out that the Authority will not stop at localizing this product, but will move to the field of manufacturing plates used in the treatment of upper and lower prosthetic limbs, which are also very expensive and are imported annually at exorbitant prices. He continued, "When the Authority is able to localize this complex technology, it will be able to manufacture any other product in a simple and easy manner." Regarding the positive impact of localizing the prosthetic limb industry, the Vice Chairman of the Science and Innovation Authority stated that localizing and producing the artificial knee locally will have a positive impact on the national economy by reducing its costly and large import bill. Al-Houri also addressed the Authority's efforts in this regard and its commitment to bridging the gap between reality and need on the one hand, and research and education on the other. He said, "In order to bridge the existing gap, we were keen to localize the prosthetic knee, relying on the latest models of prosthetic tools used as replacement limbs. We did not start from scratch, but rather jumped to adopting the latest model of the prosthetic knee, the German model, which was taken, copied, and produced locally. It is considered a more advanced, modern, more widely used, and more expensive model. This is a very advanced step that will pave the way for us to move forward in the next stages in the field of prosthetic limb manufacturing technology." Regarding the initial beginnings of the project idea, Dr. al-Houri said, "We received memos from the Wounded Foundation, the Limb Center, and the Disabled Fund stating that they face significant difficulties in providing prosthetic limb products and are spending very large sums to provide them. They also stated that there are many suppliers in the local markets competing to provide them, but their competition has not contributed to reducing costs; rather, it has increased them, making prosthetic limb products expensive and making them very difficult for the poor, destitute, and those with limited income." Al-Houri continued, "Therefore, the Authority conducted a recent study to keep pace with advanced technology in the field of prosthetic limb design and manufacturing, thus bridging the gap between reality and need on the one hand, and research on the other." He pointed out that the draft study prepared by the Authority included identifying the types of prosthetic limbs that could be manufactured locally and incorporating advanced technologies to serve thousands of people with disabilities in the country. Al-Houri noted that the project study conducted by the Authority focused on assessing the current situation, identifying technical gaps, and how to leverage reverse engineering tools in the design and manufacture of prosthetic limbs. Zakat authority launches project to distribute 10,000 cash crop baskets
Sana'a - Saba: The General Authority of Zakat launched on Wednesday the eighth phase of the cash crop distribution project under the slogan "Food and Sufficiency," targeting 10,000 poor families. At the launch, First Deputy Prime Minister Mohammed Miftah congratulated the Zakat Authority on the launch of the project, which coincides with Eid al-Adha, especially since part of the project covers Eid requirements for poor families, including honey, almonds, raisins, sesame, coffee, and other crops. Miftah pointed out that the project is a bounty and blessing from Yemen, thanks to the efforts of farmers and producers and the efforts of Zakat Authority employees, reaching the poor and needy. He noted the launch of the project and the preceding packaging, roasting, and distribution of cash crop baskets to the poor, bringing joy to their hearts. Sheikh Miftah urged those in charge of the Zakat Authority to investigate and ensure that Zakat is delivered to those most in need. For his part, Ali al-Saqqaf, Deputy Director of the Zakat Authority, praised the farmers' initiative to pay their Zakat on cash crops, a right God Almighty has enjoined upon the poor, out of their good will, and hand it over to the Zakat Authority for distribution to those who deserve it. He stated that the project stems from the efforts of the Authority's staff and the farmers' initiative to distribute 10,000 baskets at a cost of 400 million riyals, with each basket costing 40,000 riyals. The basket benefits 10,000 beneficiaries, including poor families, people with special needs, thalassemia patients, war wounded and disabled, and members of African communities. Awqaf Authority launches "Ita'am" Project for poor, needy, & frontline defenders
Sana'a - Saba: The General Authority of Awqaf launched on Wednesday the "Ita'am" (Feeding) project by distributing 130 heads of cattle to the poor, needy, and frontline defenders. During the launch ceremony, attended by the First Deputy Prime Minister, Scholar Mohammed Miftah, the Minister of Education and Scientific Research, Hassan Al-Saadi, praised the efforts and contributions of Awqaf Authority in addressing the needs of the poor, needy, and those defending the nation on the frontlines through humanitarian charity projects that alleviate their suffering and meet some of their needs. He emphasized the righteousness of Yemen's path under divine leadership, which has restored the country's dignity and honor. Minister Al-Saadi also highlighted Yemen's honorable stance in supporting the Palestinian people, a position made possible only by the wise leadership bestowed upon the nation by God. He urged Awqaf Authority to implement more charitable projects, especially under the current circumstances. For his part, the Chairman of the General Authority of Awqaf, Scholar Abdul-Majeed Al-Houthi, stated that the Authority has launched the "Ita'am" project for the fifth consecutive year, distributing sacrificial meat to the poor, needy, orphanages, centers for the blind, and frontline defenders, in line with its responsibility to manage endowment funds according to donors' intentions. He described the support provided to the frontline defenders and families of martyrs as modest compared to their sacrifices, which have shattered the false prestige of America. Al-Houthi noted that the Authority timed this project to coincide with Eid al-Adha, making the occasion one of generosity and giving. Scholar Al-Houthi stressed that a strong connection with God leads to sacrifice and benevolence, affirming that Yemen's absolute submission to God has enabled its people to stand firm in supporting Gaza and confronting the tyrants of the era, despite the immense sacrifices made. He reiterated Yemen's sincere stance, rooted in the fear of God, at a time when Arab and Islamic regimes have failed to aid their Palestinian brethren. "If the Yemeni people could deliver aid to Gaza, they would sacrifice their own provisions for their Palestinian brothers, who face genocide, starvation, and a criminal siege by the Zionist entity—amid shameful silence from Islamic nations and disgraceful inaction by Arab regimes," he said. In turn, the Secretary-General of the Yemeni Scholars Association, Scholar Taha Al-Hadhari, and the Director of Al-Nour Center for the Blind, Hassan Ismail, commended the Awqaf Authority's dedication to implementing charitable projects targeting the poor and frontline defenders, particularly on this sacred religious occasion.
