Lando Norris sets pace in practice for British Grand Prix as he eyes home win
The 25-year-old has his own grandstand at Silverstone, hosting 10,000 of his fans, and he delighted those supporters by setting a searing pace to end the day 0.222 seconds clear of Ferrari's Charles Leclerc.

Crucially for Norris, who admitted on Thursday that he would swap his other race wins for success at Silverstone, he was over four tenths clear of Australian Piastri in fourth.
Lewis Hamilton raised hopes of more Silverstone success by enjoying a positive day in his Ferrari.
The seven-time world champion has a remarkable record at his home race, winning a record nine times at Silverstone including victory in the rain last year – with wet weather again forecast to affect the action across the weekend.
The 40-year-old has also finished in the top three in all of his last 11 appearances here but is yet to stand on the podium in Ferrari colours.
The Scuderia delivered an improved performance in Austria, with Leclerc third ahead of Hamilton in fourth.
Hamilton, whose streak of 11 races without a podium finish is the longest of his career, showed signs of ending his podium drought at his home race as he topped the charts in first practice before finishing the day third after the second running.
'It's been a really exciting day. Pretty incredible to be out on track at Silverstone in a Ferrari for the first time,' Hamilton said.
'It's always amazing to be back here. This is the greatest circuit in the world and definitely my favourite. Great to see so many people already here on a Friday. The atmosphere is just incredible.'
Max Verstappen endured another difficult day for Red Bull, complaining of handling issues and saying that his tyres would not respond in the high-speed corners.
The four-time world champion, who is 61 points adrift of Piastri in the title standings following his first-lap elimination in Austria, ended the day fifth fastest.
Mercedes pair Kimi Antonelli and George Russell were sixth and eighth respectively.
Briton Arvid Lindblad drove for Red Bull during first practice – becoming only the second driver under 18 to take part in a Grand Prix weekend, after Verstappen.
The 17-year-old delivered a respectable lap time to finish 13th.

A woman who attended the British Grand Prix at Silverstone on Sunday (July 6) has taken to social media to hit out at one costly aspect of the Formula 1 event A Formula 1 fan expressed her frustration at one aspect of Sunday's British Grand Prix at Silverstone. British McLaren driver, Landon Norris emerged victorious on a rain-soaked afternoon in Northamptonshire, with teammate Oscar Pistori and Nico Hulkenberg also securing podium finishes. Amid the celebrations at the event - which cost between £70 and £329 for a single-day admission - TikTok user @f1girlGB was left having to fork out another small fortune, simply to park her own car. Sharing a video from the site's public car park, a sign stated that payments should be made prior to leaving, outlines costs for stays on each day from Thursday to Sunday. Despite the race taking place on Sunday, fans are invited to attend from Thursday to meet team members, visit the track's museum as well as take part in several more race-related events. Friday sees more action including drivers' practices, before Saturday's qualifying ahead of the main event on Sunday. To be there on all four days appears to cost an arm and a leg – as the TikTok user's video also laid out the costs detailed on the sign. These were: Thursday parking £80; Friday parking £80; Saturday parking £130; and Sunday parking £130. The video of the sign has been viewed a staggering 900,000 times, despite the fan's modest following of just 314. Thousands of those who viewed it vented their ill feelings too. "There's me thinking I couldn't afford the actual tickets when actually I couldn't even afford the parking!", one person quipped in response. A second fumed: "Exactly why I won't go to Silverstone F1, but will go abroad to watch F1." A third added: "Silverstone is now just a rip off. I don't know how people can afford it, when they have no money to pay bills etc." A fourth TikTok user slammed: "That's actually insane and totally unjustified. Things just die on the vine in this country because of price gouging and corporate greed. In a few years they'll be complaining that the crowds aren't as big any more and they'll wonder why." Whilst a fifth pondered: "Must put a lot of people off, but they still seem to have lots of cars there, so people must be willing to pay those extortionate prices, fair enough. Guess I'll never go to Silverstone." Detailing a slightly more cost-effective alternative, meanwhile, another individual pointed out: "If you book online in advance its £50 a day or £150 for the full weekend." Whilst someone else claimed: "Local schools charged £50 for the weekend, which was about a 30 minute walk and much quicker than queuing out of the car park."

Brit slapped with highest Wimbledon fine after outburst as 12 players sanctioned
Wimbledon has fined 12 players, including a Brit, for unsportsmanlike conduct, racket violations and abuse of officials after the first week of the Grand Slam tournament Doubles player Henry Patten has been stung with the biggest fine as Wimbledon announced sanctions against 12 players. Wimbledon officials have released a list of misdemeanours after the first week of the Grand Slam, naming and shaming those who have overstepped the line. Patten tops the list, having been fined $12,500 (£9,180) for verbally abusing staff who tried to cut short his practice session. Patten is into the last 16 of the men's doubles at the All England Club and will play alongside Finland's Harri Heliövaara against the pairing of France's Pierre-Hugues Herbert and Australia 's Jordan Thompson on Monday. Patten and Heliövaara, who won the men's doubles title at Wimbledon last year, have earned £43,750 between them in prize money so far. That figure will increase to £87,500 if they progress on Monday, but Patten has already forfeited a significant chunk of that through his behaviour. His fine comes in ahead of the $6,000 (£4,400) fine handed out to Adrian Mannarino for unsportsmanlike conduct in his second-round clash with Valentin Royer. Mannarino came through qualifying to reach the third round at Wimbledon, earning £152,000, before losing to Andrey Rublev. Elena Pridankina has been fined $5,000 (£3,672) for unsportsmanlike conduct during her first-round doubles defeat by Jelena Ostapenko and Hsieh Su-wei.
