Dor Turgeman 'wants' Rangers move as Igamane and Dessers transfers to clear final hurdle with fee revealed

In-demand Dor Turgeman has reportedly told Maccabi Tel Aviv he wants a move to Rangers this summer amid rising interest in the striker.
However, a deal is said to be on hold until after the Scottish Premiership side can offload either Cyriel Dessers or Hamza Igamane.

Record Sport first revealed the Maccabi Tel Aviv man is a target for the Light Blues as Russell Martin looks to strengthen ahead of a new era at Ibrox.

Rangers' new American owners 49ers Enterprises have been long-term admirers of the 21-year-old having previously attempted to bring the frontman to Leeds United.
Reports in Israel had suggested that Maccabi had been aiming to keep their Israeli stars at the club with the transfer policy shifting amid escalating tensions in the Middle East.

But One now claim that Turgeman has made his position over an exit clear with the Scottish Premiership named as his preferred destination.
It is said that both the player and club are now "waiting" on an official approach from Light Blues' chiefs - which is "expected" after one of the two strikers are sold.
Moroccan striker Igamane is reported to have agreed terms on a move away from Rangers to join Lille this summer, with a big-money sale on the cards for the new US owners at Ibrox.

The Glasgow giants have also been locked in talks over the sale of Cyriel Dessers with AEK and Feyenoord among the interested parties.

That cash injection is set to fund the move for Turgeman with the frontman looking increasingly likely to follow Max Aarons through the door in Glasgow.
Sport 5 claim that Nantes, Werder Bremen and AZ Alkmaar have also shown interest with a £4.2million asking price.
But it now appears that the Israel international is willing to wait on Rangers to make their move.
Earlier this month, Turgeman made it clear that he was hoping to leave the club and take the next step in Europe.
He said: "Right now I'm here (at Maccabi). Of course everyone wants to fulfil their dream in Europe and we'll see what happens. I'm ready to take on the next challenge."

Trump Announces Preliminary Trade Pact With Vietnam

President Trump said on Wednesday that the United States had reached a trade deal with Vietnam, one that would roll back some of the punishing tariffs he had issued on Vietnamese products in return for that nation agreeing to open its market to American goods. The preliminary deal will also indirectly affect China, an important trading partner of Vietnam. 'It will be a Great Deal of Cooperation between our two Countries,' Mr. Trump wrote in a post on Truth Social announcing the deal. According to Mr. Trump, the deal imposes a 20 percent tariff on all imports from Vietnam and a 40 percent tariff on any 'transshipping.' That provision is aimed at addressing Trump administration criticisms that countries like Vietnam have become a channel for Chinese manufacturers to bypass U.S. tariffs and funnel goods into the United States. Which products would fall under the higher tariff rate is unclear. It could refer to goods imported to the United States from Vietnam that actually originated in China. But it could also apply to Vietnamese products that use a certain amount of Chinese parts. The deal could include a lower tariff on goods that are made in Vietnam with fewer Chinese parts and materials, and a higher tariff rate for Vietnamese goods that contain many Chinese components. Vietnam was soon scheduled to face a 46 percent tariff rate as part of the 'reciprocal' tariffs that the Trump administration unveiled on April 2. Want all of The Times? Subscribe.

K'Andre Miller is eager for his new start after trade from New York Rangers to Carolina Hurricanes

Associated Press K'Andre Miller kept his phone off and avoided social media in recent weeks with his future uncertain after five seasons with the New York Rangers. Now, he's eager to jump into the Carolina Hurricanes' aggressive system. The Hurricanes acquired the 25-year-old former first-round pick to bolster their blue line and gave him a long-term contract Tuesday, the first official day of free agency. He joins a team that has made seven straight playoff trips and is coming off a third trip to the Eastern Conference final in that span. Carolina has a headlining defenseman in Jaccob Slavin, but is retooling that group with veterans Brent Burns and Dmitry Orlov unlikely to return. The tweaks trading away defenseman Scott Morrow — a rising prospect pressed into playoff duty due to injuries — and draft picks to New York to land Miller. 'They have such a fast team,' Miller said Wednesday in a Zoom call with reporters. 'They get up and down the ice in a fast motion and they do everything as a team. It's a fun group to watch and they've had a lot of success recently. So I'm excited to join that style of game, and they have a great team over there.' The Hurricanes project the 6-foot-5, 210-pound Miller as a strong fit with his size and skating ability. They're counting on him to bolster a system that relies on an aggressive forecheck to pressure opponents, get control of the puck and keep it to maintain pressure in the offensive zone. The Hurricanes are betting Miller is still on the rise, handing him an eight-year contract paying an average annual value of $7.5 million through the 2032-33 season. There were certainly flashes of it with the Rangers as a regular Metropolitan Division foe for the Hurricanes. The No. 22 overall pick in 2018 by the Rangers has played at least 74 regular-season games for four straight seasons, including posting 17 goals and 56 assists for 73 points over the 2022-23 and 2023-24 seasons. But his play fell off last season as he went from looking like a Rangers building block to expendable, coming amid New York's overall crash from Presidents' Trophy winner in 2024 to six points out of a wild-card playoff spot this year. Afterward, Miller tried to tune out 'all the speculation and kind of noise and uncertainty with New York." That meant focusing instead on getting stronger and getting mentally prepared for what's next. And now, that's a new start. 'I think there was a lot of noise throughout the season,' Miller said. 'So I think it was definitely in the back of my head that something could happen, might happen. I loved my time in New York and it was great, but I'm excited for what's to come in Carolina.' ___ AP NHL: recommended

Teen entrepreneurs turn simple hot dog idea into six-figure sensation at Jersey Shore

As Gen Z battles a surfeit of negative stereotypes, a shocking 93% of the age group have taken a step towards exploring their own business ownership, research shows. Among them are 19-year-old business and economics majors Matt D'Arcy and Keith Stedronsky, who joined "Fox & Friends" Wednesday to kick off their new series highlighting young entrepreneurs hustling for the American dream. At just 16 years old, the pair founded their own seasonal "Dogs Out" hot dog stand that has now made them more than six figures in profit and become a staple of the Jersey Shore. "We were both bus boys at local restaurants. It was going well, but it wasn't really what we wanted to do, so we explored different options to try to make a couple bucks on the side, and we eventually figured [it] out," D'Arcy shared with co-hosts Lawrence Jones, Brian Kilmeade and Ainsley Earhardt. The duo looked into zoning and permit requirements and learned they had to work with an already-zoned business. After pitching their idea to multiple sites and being rejected by most, one gave them their shot at success. "We eventually went to the Osprey in Manasquan, New Jersey. It's a bar and club that brings in a thousand people a night, and we asked them to pitch our idea to them, and they loved us, and they gave us this opportunity, and it's been smooth rolling ever since," D'Arcy added. The two work directly at the bar near the entry before moving over to the exit before the bar closes. "We give them a small percentage of our sales," Stedronsky explained. "On a Good Friday night, we could sell like 400 hot dogs." Customers can buy one hot dog for $3 or two for $5. "Dogs Out" also sells patriotic merchandise, including t-shirts for $20 apiece. The purchase of a shirt also includes a hot dog. After graduation, the pair plan to hand the business down to their little brothers in hopes of starting something similar on a larger scale.
