England's Brandon Robinson Thompson surges into three-shot lead in Turkey
England's Brandon Robinson Thompson equalled the Regnum Carya course record to surge into a three-shot lead going into the final round of the Turkish Airlines Open.
Robinson Thompson's nine-under-par 62 saw him reach 14 under for the week, three clear of Spain's Jorge Campillo, China's Haotong Li and South African Robin Williams.
Starting the day five shots off the lead, Robinson Thompson burst out of the blocks with three birdies in his first five holes.
Another fine approach to six feet at the ninth saw him turn in 30 and he chipped in for eagle at the 12th, before birdieing three of the last four holes.
"I've just got notified of that (the course record) and I'm a bit bummed I didn't break it," said the 32-year-old.
"I'm super excited to have a nice round and the scary part was I probably could have had a few more but beggars can't be choosers.
"I'm here with my wife, we're staying in a beautiful hotel, the course is amazing.
"It's hard not to enjoy yourself this week – the facilities are so good. I'm here with my wife, its such an incredible place, if you're not having a good time this week win, lose or draw, there's something wrong."

Martin Couvra is hoping to retain his Italian Open lead on Sunday despite challenging high temperatures after he finished Saturday's third round with a one-shot lead. The Turkish Airlines Open champion, who finished with a birdie for a round of 67, ended the day on 11 under par at Argentario Golf Club - a shot clear of Argentina's Eugenio Chacarra. The Frenchman found himself two off the pace after 11 holes in Tuscany but clawed his way back to the summit after partner Spain's Angel Ayora stuttered to a 70. "I'm really proud about my 18th, because I was really tired on the last few holes. It's quite difficult with the heat," Couvra told the DP World Tour. "The course is so tough, so we needed to be very concentrated. I'm happy about the 18th. "There's a lot of great players here, so you have to keep going. (The lead is) only one shot. I'll try to do my best on the last 18, and that's it. "It's going to be a great experience because it's my first time being in this position. I'm really proud to be in this position and I hope to be there tomorrow." Scotland's Calum Hill moved to within three shots of the lead after a third-round 64, with England's Alex Fitzpatrick alongside him on eight under.

Seamus Power well off the pace after opening round at Rocket Classic in Detroit
Seamus Power is 11 shots adrift of the lead after a difficult opening round at the Rocket Classic. The Waterford native was among just 15 of the 156-player field to shot over par rounds at the Detroit Golf Club with his one-over 73 leaving him in a tie for 142nd. Power started Thursday's action well with a birdie on the second but a bogey on the fifth set him back. However, it was the ninth that would prove most costly as he double-bogeyed the par-3 hole. A birdie on 15 offered him solace to lift him up to one over for the day. Meanwhile at the other end of the leaderboard, Kevin Roy and Aldrich Potgieter share the lead after carding bogey-free rounds of 62. Both America's Roy and 20-year-old South African Potgieter, who started on the back nine, eagled the 578-yard par-five 17th hole and made eight further birdies to reach 10 under par. Australia's Min Woo Lee and the United States pair Mark Hubbard and Max Greyserman sit one shot back while Zach Johnson, a former Masters and Open champion, is among a cluster of players on seven under par. It was a forgettable day for fellow two-time major winner Collin Morikawa, who is seven shots off the pace and bemoaned his short game, including a trio of three-putts on the back nine. O'Mahony to captain star-studded Barbarians against South Africa
PETER O'MAHONY WILL captain the Barbarians in their Test against South Africa on Saturday, in what is the Ireland great's professional swansong.
