Earlier, on the fifth and final day of the Test match, rain delayed the start by 1 hour 40 minutes. England resumed at 72/3, and Akash struck early, dismissing Pope and Brook. Despite personal hardships – his sister battling cancer – Akash stayed focused. Jamie Smith's 88 was England's lone resistance before a slow bouncer from Akash ended his innings, giving the pacer his maiden Test five-for. He fittingly took the final wicket to complete a 10/187 match haul.
Gill pouched the final catch, celebrating his first win as Test captain. Siraj took 6/70 in the first innings, while Jadeja and Sundar added pressure with spin. With Bumrah set to return, and Akash impressing with his stump-hitting accuracy, India head to Lord's with renewed confidence.
