MLB fan sparks outrage after being removed from stadium for interfering with the match in Diamondbacks vs. Giants game
The Arizona Diamondbacks won in the match against the San Francisco Giants recently but the match was brought to a standstill when a fan interfered in the middle of the game. Even though the fan was later escorted out of the Chase Stadium, it has sparked a debate among fans and many are furious at this decision.
A fan was escorted out during the match between the Giants and Diamondbacks and it has sparked outrage
The San Francisco Giants' Christian Koss was about to make a home run when the fan interfered.
For the unversed, as Christian Koss hit the ball to centre in the eighth inning, Arizona Diamondbacks' Tim Tawa made a run for it and tried to catch the ball but was unsuccessful as a middle aged fan dressed in the Diamondbacks' jersey ended up catching the ball with his glove before Tawa.
This brought the game to a standstill as umpires got together to figure out the next step.
While first it was ruled as fan interference, the San Francisco Giants challenged it and the footage was later reviewed.
It was revealed that even without the fan interference, Tim Tawa would not have been able to catch the ball but yet Christian Koss ended up with a double instead of a home run.
Now, as the fan was escorted out of the stadium for interfering in the match, it has sparked outrage.

Natural reaction of anyone when a ball is coming towards them is to put their glove out and catch the ball. The fact that @MLB kicks paying fans out for this is insane and why baseball is losing the popularity battle.'

Another fan by the username @MrMarvelTV commented, 'Still don't understand why they threw out the fan if it was overturned as 'not fan interference.' It was a home run if the fan didn't touch the ball. Although technically the fan did save the DBacks from a home run and a tied ball game there since the guy ended up on second base.'
A third fan by the username @RPGuy16 posted, 'They put fans right up against the wall where the ball is in play and then blame fans when they become part of the play. Makes no sense', while another user by the username @Eric08508652 wrote, 'I agree with the call. Disagree with the ejection.'
While the Arizona Diamondbacks ended up winning the match, neither of the teams has issued a statement about this yet.

Diamondbacks ban season ticket holder for rest of season after interference during game vs. Giants
Jul 02, 2025 05:23 AM IST PHOENIX — The Arizona Diamondbacks have banned a season-ticket holder from Chase Field for the rest of the season because of 'multiple offenses' during games, including fan interference on a fly ball to the wall during Monday night's game against the San Francisco Giants. Diamondbacks ban season ticket holder for rest of season after interference during game vs. Giants The D-backs were leading 3-2 in the eighth inning on Monday when San Francisco's Christian Koss hit a long fly ball to left field. Arizona left fielder Tim Tawa tried to make a leaping grab, but the fan made the catch with his own glove, appearing to reach over the fence. The umpires initially ruled that Koss was out, but the call was overturned after review and Koss was awarded second base. The D-backs went on to win the game 4-2. The fan — who said his name is Dave McCaskill — was ejected after the incident. McCaskill went on Arizona Sports 98.7 FM on Tuesday, saying he's been ejected three times and reviewed '9 or 10' times over the years. 'While our policy is to not publicly disclose information about our season ticket holders, the Arizona Diamondbacks are making this statement due to public speculations and multiple media inquiries regarding the fan interference incident during last night's game,' a statement from the team said. "This particular fan has been involved in multiple offenses at Chase Field. Consequently, we have terminated his Advantage Member account and he is prohibited from returning to Chase Field for the remainder of 2025. 'This fan will have the opportunity to return to Chase Field in 2026 so long as he meets certain terms and abides by our Fan Code of Conduct.' NBA Trade Rumors: Los Angeles Lakers predicted to sign $112.6 million Milwaukee Bucks superstar to support LeBron James and Luka Doncic power duo
Luka Doncic and LeBron James (Image via Joe Murphy/ Getty Images) The Los Angeles Lakers are exploring ways to strengthen their roster after signing Jake LaRavia, and a surprising opportunity has emerged with Damian Lillard hitting the waiver wire. The former Milwaukee Bucks star, recently released to accommodate Myles Turner, could be a high-reward gamble for the Lakers as they look to build around Luka Dončić. Why Damian Lillard Makes Sense for the Los Angeles Lakers The Los Angeles Lakers have a history of chasing superstar talent, and Lillard fits the bill despite his recent injury. As Tyler Watts of Lake Show Life noted: "LeBron (James) pressured the front office to make a splash. A future Hall of Famer and a member of the NBA 75 is now available and already being paid by Milwaukee. The Lakers love to chase superstars, and this is their chance to get one at the lowest cost possible." Before acquiring Dončić, Lillard was a serious trade target for Los Angeles. The team had concerns about D'Angelo Russell's playoff inconsistencies and saw Lillard as a stabilizing force at point guard. Now that he's available, the Lakers may revisit the idea. Lillard's Recent Performance and Injury Concerns Damian Lillard (Image via Getty) Lillard suffered an Achilles tear in the playoffs and will likely miss the entire 2025-26 season. However, his pre-injury numbers were still elite: - 24.9 points per game - 7.1 assists per game - 4.7 rebounds per game - 1.2 steals per game At 34, his health is a question mark, but his playmaking and scoring ability remain undeniable. Fit With the Los Angeles Lakers Pairing Lillard with Dončić would create one of the most dynamic backcourts in the league, but there are challenges: 1. Waiting a Full Year – Lillard won't contribute immediately. 2. Ball Dominance – Both Dončić and Lillard thrive with the ball in their hands. 3. Defensive Limitations – The Lakers would need to compensate defensively. Still, the upside is significant. As Watts pointed out, "The Lakers should be that franchise because it is the chance to land a premier talent at a bargain rate." What's Next for the Lakers? The front office must decide whether to take a patient approach with Lillard or pursue more immediate help. Given their history of bold moves, this could be another high-stakes gamble. Key Considerations - Low-Risk, High-Reward – Milwaukee is still paying Lillard's salary. - Star Power – Adds another elite player alongside Dončić and LeBron. - Playoff Experience – Lillard's clutch pedigree could be invaluable.
