All Blacks make 10 changes to the starting lineup for the third rugby test against France
Robertson pledged to use every member of his squad in the three-test series and he kept that promise Thursday after making only minor changes between the first and second tests.
New Zealand holds an unassailable 2-0 lead in the series and has regained the Dave Gallagher Trophy.
Damian McKenzie will start at flyhalf for the first time in the series, taking over from Beauden Barrett who started in the first two tests. He will combine in the halves for the first time this season with Cortez Ratima.
Robertson has selected a new midfield partnership with Quinn Tupaea returning to the starting lineup after a long injury break, combining with veteran Anton Lienert-Brown. Ruben Love will start for the first time at fullback, while Sevu Reece returns on the right wing after missing the second test with a head injury.
Captain Ardie Savea is the only player to remain in an overhauled backrow. Samipeni Finau comes in on the blindside flank and Luke Jacobson will start at No. 8.
Openside flanker Savea retains the captaincy in the absence of Scott Barrett who is one of several players unavailable through injury. Tupou Vaa'i, who made a successful transition from lock to flanker in the first two tests is, sidelined with a head knock.
Fabian Holland and Patrick Tuipulotu have been named in an unchanged second row while hooker Samisoni Taukei'aho and prop Tyrel Lomax will start for the first time in the series.
Prop George Bower, backrower Dalton Papali'i and scrumhalf Noah Hotham come in on the bench.
Seven players in the squad have been selected in the match 23 for the first time this season, and McAlister will become the sixth player to debut for the All Blacks this year.
'There is high motivation and focus to perform in Hamilton this week," Robertson said. "We are prepared for a determined and spirited French side and excited to play in front of a passionate sold-out crowd.
'We are thrilled to welcome Tyrel, Luke, Anton and Sevu back from injury and, with 185 caps between them, we know that they will be ready to perform at the highest level. It is also exciting to have Brodie debuting, as well as Ruben, Noah and Timoci adding to their single All Blacks cap."

Pogacar soars to the heights with awesome stage victory
Tadej Pogacar has delivered a display of pure dominance on the first true mountain test of this year's Tour de France to retake the yellow jersey with a solo win. On the Hautacam, where Jonas Vingegaard left Pogacar behind in a decisive attack in his 2022 Tour win, the world champion exacted revenge, attacking 12 kilometres from the summit finish and putting two minutes 10 seconds into his rival, who finished second on the day. Pogacar's third stage win of this Tour, the 20th of his career, carries him a big step closer to what would be a fourth overall title as he leads by 3:31 from Vingegaard, with both men putting time into third-placed Remco Evenepoel, now 4:45 down. 🏆 @TamauPogi with a stunning win in Hautacam!🏆 Tadej Pogacar frappe un grand coup à Hautacam !#TDF2025 — Tour de France™ (@LeTour) July 17, 2025 Irishman Ben Healy, who took yellow out of a breakaway on stage 10, struggled in the heat and it was no surprise to see him hand over yellow, shipping 13:30 on the 180.6km stage from Auch. There were questions over how Pogacar might be feeling as he started the day bandaged up on his right side following a crash late on Wednesday's stage into Toulouse, but by the finish line there was no doubt about his status as the class act in this field. The riders were barely on to the Hautacam, the first hors categorie climb of this Tour at an average gradient of 7.9km over 13.5km, when Pogacar burst off the wheel of team-mate Jhonatan Narvaez, with Vingegaard unable to keep up. Pogacar gradually pulled further clear, and such was his level of control he even had the wherewithal to point out to a passing camera operator a fan's placard stuck to their motorbike inside the final two kilometres. "I almost already forgot (about the Hautacam stage in 2022) and was just looking forward to today, then all the people came to me saying all the time about this, 'Is this revenge time?' Then when we approached the bottom of the climb it was the reverse story of a few years ago," he said. "For sure you don't know how the body reacts after a crash, but it was not too bad a crash. I feel my hip only if I do acrobatics, but here riding the bike it's not big flexing." Evenepoel was among several riders appearing to struggle in temperatures in the mid-30s. He slipped back on the Soulor and although he recovered on the descent, the Belgian was quickly dropped again on the Hautacam, conceding 3:30 to Pogacar. For Healy his second day in yellow was one of suffering, too. He survived longer than Evenepoel on the Soulor but once he was gapped, his deficit ballooned as the breakaway specialist found the challenge of hanging with the general classification riders too much. But Young Scot Oscar Onley, 22, was again up to that task for almost all of the day, finishing fifth on the day. Pogacar will now be looking for a fourth stage victory in Friday's mountain time trial, a 10.9km effort up to Peyragudes.

Benjamin André pushing for Paris FC move as Lille reject second bid
Benjamin André's determination to join Paris FC has escalated tensions with Lille OSC, as the 33-year-old midfielder rejected a contract extension and refused to travel with the squad for their friendly match against Como on Friday. According to , Paris FC submitted a second bid of €3m in recent days, but LOSC have yet to respond. André has reportedly agreed personal terms on a three-year deal with the Ligue 1 side and has made clear to club president Olivier Létang his desire to make the switch to the capital. LOSC, meanwhile, risk seeing a key dressing room figure depart on bad terms. André captained the team last season and made 45 appearances across all competitions, including starring in the UEFA Champions League. He has just one year left on his contract and could now face disciplinary action from the northern club after his decision to stay behind. | George Boxall

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang terminates contract with Al Qadsiah as Marseille return edges closer
According to a report from Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (36) has signed a contract termination agreement with Al Qadsiah and is now free to sign with any club. The Gabon international is currently in talks over a return to Olympique de Marseille, as Romano reports that the former OM striker is in negotiations over a potential two-year deal at the Phocéen club. Aubameyang scored 21 goals and registered four assists in Saudi Arabia last season, after he joined the club from Marseille last summer. L'Équipe report that the 36 year-old is prioritising a move back to Marseille over other European clubs. Les Olympiens pounced on the opportunity and are reportedly in advanced discussions with their former player and have tabled a two-year contract offer. The former Arsenal and Barcelona man's interest is reportedly mutual, but there are offers also from the AUE, Qatar, and within Saudi Arabia – although a move to Provence seems to be the most likely course of action at this stage. |
