I added wireless Android Auto to my car with this affordable adapter – now I won't drive without it
No more plugging in my phone every time I get in the car. No more fumbling with cables, especially when I've got a drink in one hand and the other's trying to open Google Maps and YouTube Music. This little adapter just works.
Setting it up took less than five minutes. I plugged the AAWireless TWO into my Tiguan's USB port, paired it via Bluetooth with my Pixel 9 Pro, and Android Auto popped up on the infotainment screen as if it had always been there. The first time it happened, I was genuinely shocked at how easy it was.
The connection is quick, usually taking the same time as if I'd plugged in a cable. Once connected, everything works exactly how it should. Google Maps, YouTube Music, Pocketcast, calls – all smooth and snappy. There's no noticeable lag, and everything responds just as fast as the wired version.
It also switches between phones effortlessly. My wife drives the same car sometimes, and she uses a Pixel 9a. All it takes is a press of the button on the adapter and it swaps over to her profile. No digging around in menus. No repeated setup. It's basically seamless.
Physically, the adapter's about the size of a matchbox. It tucks neatly away out of sight. I don't even think about it anymore, which is kind of the point. It just does its job.
Well, most of the time… I can't say it's completely flawless. During my time testing it, I did have a few dropouts. Nothing major, and usually it reconnected in seconds, but worth mentioning.
And, of course, wireless Android Auto drains my phone's battery much faster than plugging it in, but that's a wider Android Auto issue, not necessarily a problem with AAWireless Two.
Still, the pros outweigh the cons. Not needing to fish out a USB cable every time I get in the car is a huge win, and being able to keep my phone in my pocket or bag without a mess of cables hanging about is life-changing (yes, I'm that sad).
The adapter costs £53.99 in the UK or $64.99 in the US and you can buy it from the AAWireless website or on Amazon. It comes with a free companion app, but you don't need it for everyday use – though it's handy for updates and tweaks if you're the kind of person who likes fiddling with settings.
One of the new tricks this version brings is a multifunctional button. You can use it to enter pairing mode, switch between phones, or even factory reset the device if something goes wrong. You rarely need it, but when you do, it's great to have.
Now, if you're thinking about grabbing one, it might be worth knowing that AAWireless TWO+ is on the horizon. It's not out yet, but it's expected to bring a few more features to the table. So if you're not in a rush, you might want to wait and see what the new version offers.
For me, though? This one's already earned a permanent spot in my car. No cables. No fuss. Just Android Auto without the cables.

Amazon has launched two new Kindle models: a more affordable version of the Kindle Colorsoft and the first-ever Kindle made specifically for kids with a colour display. The new 16GB Kindle Colorsoft is available now for $249.99 in the US and £239.99 in the UK and includes three months of Kindle Unlimited. It offers everything you'd expect from a Kindle – but in colour. That means a sharp, high-contrast display for reading books, comics, and graphic novels, fast page turns, adjustable warm light, and battery life that lasts for weeks. It even lets you highlight text in multiple colours and browse your library by colourful book covers. Kids can read Harry Potter, Big Nate, or The Treehouse series without distractions, and use tools like Vocabulary Builder, Word Wise, and OpenDyslexic font to help them along the way. Bluetooth is also built in for audiobook listening with headphones. Parents aren't left out either. The Amazon Parent Dashboard gives you full control over what your child sees, lets you monitor reading progress, and even set a bedtime for the device. As part of the package, Amazon Kids+ continues to expand. The service now includes thousands of books and audiobooks from series like Keeper of the Lost Cities, The Breakfast Club Adventures by Marcus Rashford, and The InvestiGators. Amazon says Kindle reading is up this year, with customers having read more than 129 billion pages so far – more than this time last year. So, if you've been holding off on buying a Kindle Colorsoft, now's a good time, and if $269.99 in the US and £259.99 in the UK still feels steep, it's worth waiting for Black Friday, when prices could drop closer to $220 / £200. I think this is the best charging cable ever – here's why
If you're anything like me, you've got more than two gadgets on you at all times – oftentimes a lot more. I've got a smartphone, smartwatch, and fitness tracker, which is the bare minimum. And there's nothing worse than having to carry around different adapters and chargers for various devices. But OnePlus has come up with a charging cable that I think is perfect. 2-in-1 chargers are nothing new, but they're a bit bulky – even the ones that fold. That's why OnePlus's solution is genius. It's just a charging cable, but it can juice up your smartwatch as well. Unfortunately, that POGO Pin connector for the watch means it's strictly a OnePlus-only party – you won't be able to use it with Galaxy or Apple Watches. But if you're in the OnePlus ecosystem, this cable is as close to perfect as you can get. Although, I do wish it was USB-C at both ends. When plugged in, your phone gets 80W of charging power on its own, or 67W if your smartwatch is also in on the action. The watch pulls a respectable 10W itself. This is much faster than most other 2-in-1 chargers, since they're wireless. Plus, the cable measures 1.2 metres, so you won't have to crouch next to an outlet to use it. The OnePlus 2-in-1 SUPERVOOC cable is available to order from the OnePlus store. It'll set you back $30/£25, which is on the pricey side for a cable, but not too shabby for a 2-in-1 charger. If you're a OnePlus phone and watch owner, it might just be the most useful travel gadget to throw in a bag.

These Focal Diva Mezza Utopia speakers take streaming hi-fi to a whole new level
In the lingo of musical instruction, 'mezza' means to play softly or at half volume, but there are absolutely no half measures when it comes to these Focal Diva Mezza Utopia speakers. Following on from last year's Diva Utopia, which would set you back a hefty £29,999, the Mezza require even deeper pockets at £55,000 per pair. So what do you get for your gigantic pile of cash? Standing slightly taller than an Emperor penguin at 50in, each speaker has a frankly ludicrous 500W of total amplification inside, with 90W going to the tweeter, 130W to the 6.5in mid driver, and 280W shared between the four 8in bass drivers (two on either side of each speaker). Never mind bothering the neighbours, there'll be flightless birds in Antarctica who'll be annoyed with you if you crank these right up. You can feed them (the speakers, not the penguins) wirelessly using Bluetooth or Wi-Fi, and if you've got a hi-res source the ultra-wide band connection between them allows for playback at up to 96kHz/24-bit without needing to use a cable. Tether them together using ethernet and that jumps to studio-level 192kHz/24-bit. As we said at the start: no half measures. There's a companion app you can use to control music playback, but the Focal Diva Mezza Utopia also support various Wi-Fi standards, including AirPlay 2, Google Cast, and Spotify Connect. With so much sonic power on offer the speakers need a little taming, so you can also run sound tests via the app that will calibrate them to the acoustics of your room. If you'd rather hook up your kit the old-fashioned way you also get a good array of physical connections on the primary speaker too, including optical, RCA, HDMI eARC and USB. The Focal Diva Mezza Utopia aren't the kind of speakers you can just order on Amazon, so if you're interested in a pair you'll need to head to Focal's website to find a dealer near you. And don't forget to warn your credit card of what's to come.
