Social media reacts to Ekene Ogboko's commitment
Go Dawgs !! — Coach Kirby Smart (@KirbySmartUGA) June 18, 2025
The Georgia Bulldogs earned a major recruiting win on Wednesday, June 18. Four-star offensive tackle Ekene Ogboko committed to Georgia over Florida, Clemson, and Notre Dame.
Ogboko is a four-star offensive tackle from the class of 2026. He stands at 6-foot-6, weighs 280 pounds, and plays high school football and basketball for South Garner High School in Durham, North Carolina.
Georgia had an important connection to Ogboko in the recruiting process. Ogboko's brother, former three-star defensive tackle Nnamdi Ogboko, committed to Georgia from the class of 2024. Nnamdi more than likely had a lot of pull in Georgia landing his younger brother.
Ekene Ogboko's commitment fills a big need in Georgia's recruiting class at offensive tackle. Georgia took a big swing in recruiting five-star offensive tackle Jackson Cantwell. Unfortunately, Cantwell committed to Miami, so Georgia had to find another top offensive tackle recruit. Ogboko could fill a big need for Georgia in 2026, and now the Bulldogs have the best recruiting class in the SEC and second best in the nation.
How did social media react to Ekene Ogboko's commitment to the Georgia Bulldogs?

Notre Dame announced the launch of ‘Cheer Her Name,' celebrating women's athletics
In the 2025-26 academic year, Notre Dame has announced that they will be celebrating 50-years of women's athletics with the 'Cheer Her Name' initiative, the university announced on Wednesday. The idea behind this is to 'celebrate all the individuals who have and continue to contribute to the remarkable success of our women's programs,' as the university announced. Athletic director Pete Bevacqua has been a busy man, as he spoke about Notre Dame's rivalry with USC and the College Football Playoff potential selection changes just yesterday. The first event will be when the football team hosts Purdue the weekend of Sept. 19th-21st, as they've invited 'all female former student-athletes and others who have supported Notre Dame women's sports, to return to campus to be recognized and celebrated,' as stated in the release. It's great to see the university honoring the female athletes of the past and present, another reason why so many want to be part of the Notre Dame family. Notre Dame cornerback Leonard Moore makes the Jim Thorpe Award watchlist
Moore love for Leonard ☘️Leonard Moore has been named to the 2025 Paycom Jim Thorpe Award Watch List#GoIrish☘️ After a huge freshman year, Notre Dame cornerback Leonard Moore is expected to be one of the nation's best defensive backs. It should come as no surprise that on Wednesday, he was named to the Jim Thorpe Award watchlist. It's the latest pre-season accolade for Moore, as he continues to get plenty of hype entering the year. During his freshman season, he had 48 tackles, two forced fumbles, and two interceptions. The numbers don't tell the whole story, as he consistently shut down the oppositions best wide receiver. It's a huge luxury for new defensive coordinator Chris Ash, as he can send Moore out to one side of the field all alone and not worry about giving up big plays. This enables the safeties to have a bit more freedom to make plays, again showing the elite ability of Moore. There is a very high chance that Moore is the next early-entry defensive back that Notre Dame sends off to the NFL.
