After finishing in second place seven different times throughout the last three years, at long last Cameron Young is a winner on the PGA Tour.
Young dominated the 2025 Wyndham Championship, becoming the 1,000th unique winner in the history of the PGA Tour, and some fans cannot get enough.
For his efforts, Young took home $1.476M of the $8.2M total purse at Sedgefield Country Club, and moved up to 15th in the latest U.S. Ryder Cup standings.
David Dusek already took a look at the winning golf equipment used by Young over the weekend, including how a change in golf ball helped Young get over the hump, but now we're diving into the champion's closet and taking a look at how Cameron Young dressed for success in Peter Millar apparel at the 2025 Wyndham Championship.

CBS boasts most-watched golf season in 7 years as 2025 Wyndham Championship ratings soar

Amid all the discussions about changes to improve golf, the state of the sport and what the future might hold, the latest television ratings for the PGA Tour suggest that there's no need to worry about the game's popularity. CBS Sports on Tuesday reported that 2025 was its most-watched golf season in seven years, averaging 2.969 million viewers for golf broadcasts, which is up 17 percent from 2024. It's the highest mark since 2018. The company also reported that 2025 was the most-streamed golf season ever on Paramount+, which launched in 2021. The Tour's regular-season finale, which was also the last event on CBS for the season, certainly helped contribute to that number, as an average of 1.95 million golf fans tuned in to watch Cameron Young cruise to his first PGA Tour victory at the 2025 Wyndham Championship on Sunday — a 36-percent increase in viewership from last year's Wyndham. During that broadcast, CBS bid farewell to a staple of its golf commentary crew, Ian Baker-Finch, who retired after 19 years in the booth alongside the likes of Jim Nantz and Nick Faldo. The 1991 British Open Champion got emotional on air several times throughout the weekend as the heartfelt tributes poured in. So as the 2025 golf season comes to a close for CBS, NBC and its affiliates will take the reins for the FedEx Cup Playoffs — the PGA Tour's three-week series of elimination events culminating with the Tour Championship at East Lake. The first of those events, the FedEx St. Jude Championship, begins Thursday.

PGA Tour veteran ‘very concerned' after Rory McIlroy skips first playoff event

It's not the greatest look for the PGA Tour and its playoff format that Rory McIlroy is blowing off the first leg of the three-tournament bonanza. And one influential Tour veteran is not pleased about the reigning Masters champion's absence. 'Very concerned,' Peter Malnati, one of the player directors on the PGA Tour Policy Board, told Golfweek. There's currently no deterrent for such a move for someone in McIlroy's position. The 36-year-old Grand Slam champion is in second place in the FedEx Cup standings with 3,444 points, well behind Scottie Scheffler, who had 4,806 points after winning two majors this year, and well ahead of third-place Sepp Straka (2,595). 3 Rory McIlroy celebrates his Masters win with wife, Erica Stoll, and daughter, Poppy, on April 13, 2025. Getty Images The top 50 finishers at this week's St. Jude Championship in Memphis move on to the second leg, next week's BMW Championship, where the top 30 finishers then qualify for the Tour Championship. This year's Tour Championship will begin with all 30 participants starting at even par, so even if McIlroy also skips the BMW Championship, he'll have as good of a chance as the rest of the field at winning the playoffs. 3 Peter Malnati during the Charles Schwab Challenge in May 2025. Jim Cowsert-Imagn Images Will the PGA Tour institute changes that would penalize golfers for skipping playoff events in the future? 'I think there is stuff in the works and I'll leave it at that,' Malnati told Golfweek. Webb Simpson, who's also on the Policy Board, sounded skeptical such measures would be taken. 'I think it's too hard of a thing to make guys have to play. We're still a sport where you can play when you want to play,' Simpson told the outlet. McIlroy finished second-to-last in last year's St. Jude Championship and told the Telegraph in November he was likely skipping the event this year. 3 Rory McIlroy acknowledges the crowd at Royal Portrush during the final round of the British Open on July 20, 2025. Getty Images 'I mean, I finished basically dead last there this year, and only moved down one spot in the playoff standings,' he said at the time. McIlroy already earned $10 million in bonus money for regular-season performance. The winners of the St. Jude and BMW get $3.6 million, while the Tour Championship winner gets $10 million.
