Thunderbirds special episodes to get first physical release for 60th anniversary
The three episodes, which were produced in 2015 for the show's 50th anniversary and released a year later, will be included in a new Blu-ray set compiling all of the show's episodes.
Jamie Anderson, managing director of Anderson Entertainment and the son of the show's creator, said: 'The 60th anniversary of Thunderbirds is a remarkable milestone and after years of anticipation, we are beyond excited to finally present this original format release to our dedicated global fans who cherish these shows as much as we do.
'As the fanbase for my father's creations grows across generations, we are thrilled to be able to celebrate the ground-breaking legacy of his work with these special releases.'
Anderson Entertainment has also announced plans to release similar collections of Gerry Anderson's other series including Space: 1999 and Captain Scarlet and the Mysterons.
The new Thunderbirds release will see the episodes presented in high-definition in their original 4:3 format, with special features including interviews with the show's creators and insight into how the show was made.
Initially released in the 1960s, the series, which uses electronic, marionette puppetry called Supermarionation, follows International Rescue, made up of the Tracy family, who are led by ex-astronaut Jeff Tracy.
Thunderbirds sees the family embark on missions to save lives using futuristic land, sea, air, and space vehicles, which are housed in different parts of their Tracy Island home, with space rocket Thunderbird 1 launching from under the swimming pool.
A live action film based on the series, called Thunderbirds, was later released in 2004, and features Vanessa Hudgens and Ben Kingsley, with the latter playing International Rescue's arch enemy, The Hood.
The new set, which comes as part of an expansion of Anderson Entertainment's licensing agreement with ITV Studios, will be available from the Gerry Anderson Store and physical media retailers this year.

Think you've got what it takes? — Nobody cares. The Basics Let's get down to the basics of Captain Nobody and the Conquest of the Universe by Djamp Games. This is a space-themed incremental clicker game with high satire jokes and sci-fi trope humor. From the safety of your ship's viewing station, you will manage scrap retrieval and encounter strange alien worlds. Make new connections to hire the best crew available from the population at the edge of the scrap heaps, keeping an eye out for special abilities. Turn your resources into currency to upgrade your fleet using duct tape, shady deals and intergalactic trade coupons. RELATED: July's Most Anticipated Video Games Players are thrown into gameplay after a speedy cinematic, but there is an efficient tutorial to point out important areas on the screen. Even still, I had to restart the game a few times to fully grasp the rhythm of the resource management and understand the flow of the game. Adding pause functionality would be a usual quality-of-life update to help new players navigate the menu space. After the initial dunk into the game and clickfest, avenues of automation will open up to make the gameplay incremental. Why Should I Play? So why should you play Captain Nobody and the Conquest of the Universe? This is a fun, easy clicker game packed with dry humor and references. The game is still in early development, so some of the hit boxes on the scrap can be temperamental, but your ship is tough and the haul is forgiving. Players can spend time actively collecting scrap, managing the notifications or exploring on the center screen. There is no save functionality, but subsequent restarts build the gameplay progression faster, and randomized events help replayability. The rocking introductory song also contains some nonsense lyrics that tip it off as being AI-generated, but the vibe of the song is really fun. The game creator is actively updating the game and taking community feedback, so hopefully they will update the assets to authentic original art and music. Alien: Earth: Release date, plot, cast, and everything we know so far
After decades spent in space and as a film franchise, Alien: Earth is bringing the Alien franchise both to Earth and to the small screen. The show, which has been in development for years, will finally hit television in 2025. Created by Noah Hawley, the show brings the xenomorph threat to Earth, which is not totally unprecedented in the history of this franchise, but pretty close. Given that a lot is riding on this show, it's natural for people to have questions about it. Here's everything we know: What is Alien: Earth about? The official synopsis for the show explains: 'When the mysterious deep space research vessel USCSS Maginot crash-lands on Earth, Wendy (Sydney Chandler) and a ragtag group of tactical soldiers make a fateful discovery that puts them face-to-face with the planet's greatest threat.' Recommended Videos The story is reportedly set in the year 2120, just two years before the events of the original Alien and 16 years after the events of Alien: Covenant. At this point in Earth's history, the world is ruled by five massive corporations: Prodigy, Weyland-Yutani, Lynch, Dynamic, and Threshold. We know from the trailers that the main character is a synthetic, a fully human person whose mind was transferred into a new, enhanced body. We also know that the ship that crash-landed on Earth collected five dangerous alien creatures, which suggests that the xenomorph won't be the only thing on the hunt in this series. On a more thematic level, the show appears to be a meditation on the lines between artificial intelligence and humanity. This definitely isn't a new theme for this franchise, but given that the series is set on Earth, it's possible we'll interact with even more non-human characters than we have in the past. When is the release date for Alien: Earth? Alien: Earth is set to hit Hulu and FX at 8 p.m. ET on August 12. The show will debut with two episodes, with one episode debuting each week from then until the end of the eight-episode season.
