Hulu drops first trailer for 'The Wonderfully Weird World of Gumball' reboot after 6-year hiatus
The trailer begins with Gumball declaring he was never gone—just preparing something bigger. It features meta-humour, wild 2D and 3D animation blends, and scenes involving virtual reality, animated burgers, and tentacles emerging from other dimensions.
Gumball and Darwin reintroduce themselves to schoolmates like mythic figures, launching into scenes involving a haunted car, a living Necronomicon, and what appears to be a heart mascot under attack.
The Watterson family will also face off against a sinister fast food empire and an AI obsessed with their mother, all rendered through a mix of CGI, puppetry, stop-motion, and live action.
The reboot features new voice actors for Gumball, Darwin, and Anais—Alkaio Thiele, Hero Hunter, and Kinza Syed Khan—while original voices Teresa Gallagher and Dan Russell return as Nicole and Richard.
Series creator Ben Bocquelet returns as executive producer alongside Matt Layzell and Erik Fountain. The creative team promises surreal 15-minute episodes packed with layered humour and unpredictable storylines.
Fans can catch the SDCC panel on July 26 at the San Diego Convention Center, with the show premiering on Hulu in the US on July 28.

Hemsworth family steals the spotlight at dazzling 'Limitless' London premiere
The yellow carpet was rolled out in Leicester Square as Chris Hemsworth premiered his new documentary Limitless: Live Better Now at the Odeon Luxe. The event, held on July 17, brought out the entire Hemsworth family in a rare public gathering, making headlines not just for star power but the deeply personal story behind the film. Chris was joined by wife Elsa Pataky and their children, Tristan and Sasha, while younger brother Liam arrived with girlfriend Gabriella Brooks. Their parents, Craig and Leonie Hemsworth, also attended, showing united support for the emotional project. The Disney+ and Hulu-bound documentary follows Chris as he attempts extreme physical and mental challenges, like climbing a 600-foot frozen wall, enduring Special Forces pain training in South Korea, and even performing a surprise stadium drumming gig, all in pursuit of scientific insight into living longer, healthier lives. But beneath the adrenaline-fueled stunts lies a personal motivation. While filming the series, Chris discovered he carries two copies of the APOE4 gene, which significantly increases his risk of developing Alzheimer's. Although not a guaranteed diagnosis, the discovery cast a new light on the actor's mission for longevity and health, making the documentary more than just an entertainment venture. Joe Wicks and his wife Rosie were also spotted at the premiere, adding to the star-studded presence. Limitless: Live Better Now will be available to stream on Disney+ and Hulu starting August 15. The documentary's release is expected to spark important conversations around preventative health, family, and facing the future head-on, even for the god of thunder himself.

The Bear renewed for season 5 at Hulu, premiere set for 2026
The Bear has officially been renewed for a fifth season at Hulu, with a premiere date slated for 2026. The announcement was confirmed by FX and Hulu, following the success of Season 4, which debuted in June 2025. The Emmy-winning series, created by Christopher Storer and produced by FX, has become a major hit for Hulu since its debut in 2022. FX chairman John Landgraf praised the team behind the show in a statement: 'The Bear continues to be a fan favorite worldwide. Their response to this season — as seen through incredibly high viewership — has been as spectacular as any of its previous seasons.' The Bear stars Jeremy Allen White as Carmen 'Carmy' Berzatto, a fine-dining chef who returns to Chicago to run his late brother's sandwich shop, transforming it into a high-end restaurant. Ayo Edebiri co-stars as Sydney, with Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Richie, Liza Colón-Zayas as Tina, and Lionel Bryce as Marcus. The ensemble cast also includes Abby Elliott, Matty Matheson, and guest stars such as Jamie Lee Curtis, Molly Gordon, Oliver Platt, and Jon Bernthal. The series has received widespread critical acclaim, earning a total of 21 Emmys across its first two seasons. Season 1 took home 10 Emmys, including Best Comedy Series and acting wins for White, Edebiri, and Moss-Bachrach. Season 2 followed with a record-breaking 11 Emmy wins, including a win for Colón-Zayas. Season 4's 10-episode drop continued to draw in strong viewership. With Season 5 now confirmed, fans can look forward to another chapter in the intense, character-driven culinary drama.
