Rush Hour 4: Jackie Chan Gives Hopeful Update on Sequel

Yahoo28-05-2025
Jackie Chan recently gave a promising update regarding Rush Hour 4 with Chris Tucker, hinting that the movie is in development. The sequel to the 2007 film Rush Hour 3 is highly anticipated by fans. After much back and forth about the movie's fate, reports have emerged indicating that Lionsgate discussed Rush Hour 4 in a 2024 meeting.
Jackie Chan recently spoke to ScreenRant at a red carpet event for his upcoming movie, Karate Kids: Legends, where he talked about the much-anticipated Rush Hour 4.
While Chan urged the makers of Rush Hour 4 to accelerate development on the movie, he also admitted that he was unaware of its current status, saying, 'I don't know. Ask the director, ask the studio, ask the writer. Hurry up! Otherwise, Chris Tucker and me [will be] 100 years old. We'll be old men doing Rush Hour.'
The interviewer further asked him if he wanted to do the project. To this, Chan responded affirmatively and shared the list of movies he would like to do. He said, 'Yes! And I want to do [another] Shanghai Knights, Shanghai Dawn. Shangai Noon, Shanghai Knights, and Shanghai Dawn. The script is still going on. I want to do a Rush Hour 4.'
In 2023, Tucker, who plays James Carter in the franchise, also teased the project and expressed his excitement to work with Chan. He asserted, ''Rush Hour 4,' that's something I definitely will probably drop in there because I love working with Jackie, but I've got some new stuff that I think you're really gonna like. I'm excited about it.' (via Variety)
All three Rush Hour movies were directed by Brett Ratner, but his return to the director's seat for the potential fourth part is uncertain. Ratner is reported to have stepped away from Hollywood in 2018 following a series of misconduct allegations.

American Eagle Defends Sydney Sweeney Ad Campaign Amid Controversy: ‘Her Jeans. Her Story… Great Jeans Look Good on Everyone'

American Eagle is standing by its controversial ad campaign featuring Sydney Sweeney, which includes various commercials with the tagline: 'Sydney Sweeney Has Great Jeans.' The campaign creates a pun around 'great genes,' which ignited outrage online over American Eagle glorifying the Emmy nominee's white heritage and thin physique. Some users on social media even compared the ads to 'Nazi propaganda.' 'Sydney Sweeney Has Great Jeans' is and always was about the jeans. Her jeans. Her story,' the company said in a statement posted on social media. 'We'll continue to celebrate how everyone wears their AE jeans with confidence, their way. Great jeans look good on everyone. More from Variety JD Vance Urges Democrats Angry Over Sydney Sweeney Jeans Ads to Keep It Up: 'Continue to Tell Everybody' Who Thinks She Is Attractive That They're 'a Nazi' White House Says Liberal Outrage Over Sydney Sweeney's American Eagle Jeans Commercial Is 'Moronic' and a 'Big Reason Americans' Voted for Trump Katy O'Brian Says Sydney Sweeney 'Didn't Care' About Getting Hurt During Fight Scenes in Christy Martin Biopic: 'She Was Like, "If You Break My Nose, That's Fine"' Sweeney's American Eagle campaign caused so much chatter online that even Trump's White House weighed in on the backlash, with communications manager Steven Cheung calling the backlash a prime example of 'cancel culture run amok.' 'This warped, moronic and dense liberal thinking is a big reason why Americans voted the way they did in 2024,' Cheung added. 'They're tired of this bullshit.' Vice president JD Vance also mocked liberals for creating a hysteria around the American Eagle campaign, saying on an episode of the 'Ruthless' podcast: 'My political advice to the Democrats is continue to tell everybody who thinks Sydney Sweeney is attractive is a Nazi. That appears to be their actual strategy.' Vance continued, 'I mean, it actually reveals something pretty interesting about the Dems, though, which is that you have, like, a normal all-American beautiful girl doing like a normal jeans ad, right? They're trying to sell, you know, sell jeans to kids in America and they have managed to so unhinge themselves over this thing. And it's like, you guys, did you learn nothing from the November 2024 election? I actually thought that one of the lessons [Democrats] might take is we're going to be less crazy. And the lesson they have apparently taken is we're going to attack people as Nazis for thinking Sydney Sweeney is beautiful.' Even Stephen Colbert, who frequently speaks out against Trump and the White House, called the backlash against Sweeney and American Eagle overblown 'Now, some people look at [the ads] and they're seeing something sinister, saying that the genes-jeans denim wordplay in an ad featuring a white blond woman means American Eagle could be promoting eugenics, white supremacy and Nazi propaganda,' Colbert said this week on 'The Late Show.' 'That might be a bit of an overreaction.' Sweeney has yet to publicly comment on the outcry over the advertisements. Here's Why ‘And Just Like That...' Will End With Season 3

And Just Like That... it's time to turn another page in Carrie Bradshaw's diary. The divisive and nostalgia-ridden Sex and the City spinoff series will conclude with season 3, which is currently airing on HBO Max. Episode 12 will land on Aug. 14 and serve as the series finale. Here's everything we know so far about HBO Max's decision. No. On August 1, Variety reported that And Just Like That... will officially end with its third season. Showrunner, writer, and director Michael Patrick King announced the news in a statement, explaining that the series conclusion was a creative choice. 'And just like that… the ongoing storytelling of the Sex And The City universe is coming to an end,' he wrote. 'While I was writing the last episode of And Just Like That… season 3, it became clear to me that this might be a wonderful place to stop.' He went on to say that he made the decision alongside star Sarah Jessica Parker, HBO CEO Casey Bloys, and Sarah Aubrey, head of originals at HBO Max. The series will end with a two-part finale, extending season 3 from 10 episodes to 12. King added, 'SJP and I held off announcing the news until now because we didn't want the word 'final' to overshadow the fun of watching the season. It's with great gratitude we thank all the viewers who have let these characters into their homes and their hearts over these many years.' Parker posted a moving tribute to Carrie on her Instagram. 'Miranda, Samantha and Charlotte, there will never be better friends and what great fortune for Carrie to come to know and love Seema and LTW, most divine new connections,' she wrote. She continued, 'Carrie Bradshaw has dominated my professional heartbeat for 27 years. I think I have loved her most of all... MPK and I together recognized, as we have in the past, this chapter complete. AJLT was all joy, adventure, the greatest kind of hard work alongside the most extraordinary talent of 380 that includes all the brilliant actors who joined us. I am better for every single day I spent with you. It will be forever before I forget. The whole thing. Thank you all. I love you so. I hope you love these final two episodes as much as we all do.' Kristin Davis, who plays Charlotte, reposted King's statement and added, 'I am profoundly sad. I love our whole beautiful cast and crew. 400 artisans working so hard on our show with deep love. And to our loyal fans, we love you forever and ever.' Cynthia Nixon, who plays Miranda, also reposted King's statement, but did not add anything further. This story will be updated.
