Social media reacts to Nebraska landing wide receiver Nalin Scott
Nebraska football was able to flip a commitment from class of 2026 four-star wide receiver Nalin Scott. He made the announcement on social media Friday afternoon.
Scott is the No. 63 overall wide receiver in the 2026 class and the No. 47 overall player in his class from the state of Georgia, according to the On3 recruiting rankings. He had a productive season for McEachern High School last year. He tallied 29 receptions for 541 yards and two touchdowns.
The wide receiver had been committed to Arizona State before switching his commitment to Nebraska. The decision should not have come as much of a surprise, as Scott visited Nebraska last week, and ASU does not allow commits to take visits to other schools, so a change was likely coming.
With this commitment, Nebraska now has its second blue-chip prospect of the class. The class itself has nine commitments in total and ranks No. 18 overall in the Big Ten.

Jaden Akins looking for next opportunity following being unselected in NBA Draft
Former Spartan Jaden Akins went unselected in NBA Draft this week -- so what's next for him? Here's the latest on Akins What's next for former Spartans star Jaden Akins? That's still an unanswered question following the NBA Draft. Akins went unselected during the 2025 NBA Draft this week, with the lone Spartan selected being Jase Richardson by the Orlando Magic with the No. 25 overall pick. Akins wasn't expected to be selected in the two rounds of the NBA Draft, but there was always an outside chance someone would take a flier on him. So what's next for Akins now? Well, we should be seeing him picked up by a team as an undrafted free agent ahead of the NBA summer league. Oddly, though, we haven't seen Akins sign anywhere yet -- which I personally expected to happen by the end of the weekend. Akins started all 72 of the Spartans' games over the last two seasons, averaging double-digits in scoring in both years and providing stellar defensive presence as well. He is slightly undersized for the NBA, though, which ultimately hurt his professional stock in the NBA. Akins worked out for a few teams during the pre-draft process, including the Utah Jazz and Milwaukee Bucks, so we should keep our eyes out for either of those teams signing him for summer league play. I anticipate he will be getting a chance to show what he has at the next level during summer league, and we should hopefully hear of a signing in the next week. Nebraska's Matt Rhule flips 2026 wide receiver from Arizona State
The post Nebraska's Matt Rhule flips 2026 wide receiver from Arizona State appeared first on ClutchPoints. On Friday, Nalin Scott and the Nebraska Cornhuskers made waves in the 2026 recruiting scene when the four-star wide receiver officially switched his commitment from Arizona State to Nebraska. The standout from McEachern High School shared the news on social media just days after his official visit to Lincoln. Although Scott had been committed to the Sun Devils since late April, his visit experience and growing connections with the Cornhuskers were significant factors in his decision. Advertisement Standing at 6-foot-2 and weighing 200 pounds, Scott is now the ninth commitment in Nebraska's 2026 class, which has been gaining traction lately with several new additions. According to 247Sports Composite, he's ranked as the No. 55 receiver in the country and No. 366 overall. He joins three-star Dveyoun Bonwell-Witte as the second wide receiver in this class. Nebraska's coaching staff had long considered him a top target, continuing to pursue him even after he verbally committed to ASU. Scott's relationship with quarterback commit Dayton Raiola was a key factor in his decision. The two prospects visited Nebraska together last weekend and connected during the trip. Scott mentioned that Raiola and his brother Dylan helped his family feel more at home with the program. Daikiel Shorts Jr., Nebraska's wide receivers coach, did an impressive job recruiting Scott. He continued to check in with Scott even while he was committed to another program. A freshman wide receiver, Isaiah Mozee, played host to Scott during the official visit and noted several things about the team culture. Scott noticed the players seemed to develop authentic relationships with each other and the coaching staff. He liked how the player development program is set up and was impressed that Shorts has had several players drafted to the NFL in recent years—that sense of structure and honesty built Scott's intrigue towards the Big Ten program. Even with a commitment letter from Arizona State and the impressive presence of NFL legend Hines Ward on their coaching staff, Nebraska's persistence truly paid off. Before Scott's visit in June, the Huskers had hosted him during a spring practice in April, which helped him establish a better feel for his eventual future. Scott Flipping is a massive win for a program ready to increase national attention with unorthodox recruiting. And how will he fit in with the Crimson Tide? According to Griffin's scouting report from 247Sports, Griffin can play all over the defense. 'Multi-faceted defender with a top-flight testing profile that should offer both on- and off-ball linebacker as he can rush the passer and stack against the run while also dropping back into coverage,' Griffin's scouting report reads. 'Lanky and lean at this stage, but should undergo a major physical transformation in the coming years as he's on the younger side for the grade and equipped with larger features.' Advertisement Griffin posses the talent to become an immediate contributor at a major program. He could see playing time early at Alabama. 'Fires out of both a two- and three-point stance in the blink of an eye and will get around obstacles with his slick agility and lateral quickness,' the scouting report continues. 'Possesses true sideline-to-sideline range and will make stops in pursuit with his gap-closing burst. Must keep evolving and developing craft while improving play strength, but projects as a potential impact player in the Big Ten or SEC that can fit into a variety of different schemes with his athletic juice and alignment flex.'
