Boost Business Luck on Jyestha Purnima with These Simple Tips
Jyestha Purnima is on June 11 this year.
According to Celebrity Astrologer Parduman Suri, those whose businesses are not yielding profits should worship the Peepal tree on this day. The Peepal tree is believed to be the abode of Lord Narayan and the ancestors (Pitrs). On Jyestha Purnima, offer water from a vessel mixed with raw milk and sugar or batasha (a sweet) to the Peepal tree. Also light a lamp under the tree. This pleases the ancestors and brings blessings from Lord Narayan and Goddess Lakshmi.
Observing a fast on this day is said to bring happiness, prosperity, peace in the family, and fulfillment of wishes. Donating water-filled pitchers, clothes, grains, umbrellas, fans, etc., is considered highly auspicious. In some regions, Vat Savitri Vrat is also observed on Jyestha Purnima instead of Jyestha Amavasya.
Rituals and Remedies for Jyestha Purnima
* This day is especially dear to Goddess Lakshmi. Worship her along with Lord Narayan and offer them kheer (a sweet rice pudding).
* Invite five young girls to your home, serve them food, give them dakshina (a token offering), and see them off by touching their feet. Goddess Lakshmi is believed to be very pleased with this act. If you continue this ritual on every Purnima (full moon), it is said that your hardships will soon end, and wealth will flow freely.
* Reciting the Lakshmi Stotra and Kanakadhara Stotra on this day is considered very auspicious.
* Small sea shells (Cowries) are highly favored by Goddess Lakshmi. Apply turmeric and saffron to 11 cowries, worship them along with Goddess Lakshmi, and recite the Kanakadhara Stotra. The next day, wrap the cowries in a red cloth and place them in your locker or wardrobe. This is believed to bring wealth and prosperity to the home.

A Gurugram resident filed a complaint on Swachhata App—The internet reacts
In a city where civic issues often take time to be addressed, a recent experience shared by a Gurugram resident has brought attention to the effectiveness of the Swachhata App. The user reported multiple garbage dumping sites in their locality and was surprised to see action being taken within the same day– an outcome that has sparked both appreciation and conversation online. Complaint filed in the morning, cleaning in progress by evening The incident came to light after a local Reddit user shared their experience on the subreddit r/Gurgaon with the title: 'Peak Gurgaon Moment, I Posted on Swachhata App and it worked.' The user said they had reported three garbage dumping spots in S Block, Sector 24, where trash and discarded furniture had been lying untouched for over a week. 'For the last week, the garbage and discarded furniture were lying in the same place with no hope for cleaning,' the user wrote. 'Yesterday, I read about this Swachhata app and, with zero hopes, I posted three complaints this morning.' To their amazement, the results were visible within hours. 'In the evening, I came to the balcony. Two of those spots were already cleaned, and the last big one, where tons of garbage had been thrown, was being cleared by a tractor trolley and workers,' they added. Calling the experience 'literally amazing,' the user said they were genuinely impressed by the quick turnaround. Reddit post: Social media users react with interest and skepticism The post sparked responses from other residents, some praising the app's effectiveness, others pointing out delays in their own cities. 'I'm definitely going to try this out too,' one user wrote, showing interest in using the platform. Another added, 'Didn't work for Delhi. Added a few weeks back, no response. Ticket still open.' Some residents flagged persistent issues. One user commented, 'Anyone tried this for that major dump near Ardee Mall? The one that blocks two lanes?' Others focused on awareness, with one saying, 'This app needs more visibility. How can we get more people to use it?' Gurugram's waste woes under the spotlight While such prompt action is not always the norm, concerns over sanitation in Gurugram have been raised consistently by residents over time. According to a report by India Today, earlier this month, a French national who had been living in the city for several years voiced her concerns on social media, describing the local living conditions as challenging and expressing frustration over ongoing cleanliness issues. What the Swachhata App is designed to do As per sbmurban(dot)org, the Swachhata App, introduced as part of the Swachh Bharat Mission , is a digital tool that enables citizens to report sanitation and solid waste-related issues. Each complaint is geo-tagged and directed to the relevant municipal authorities for action. Times of India has not independently verified the claims made in the post. Putrada Ekadashi: Check dates, time, auspicious yogas and other details
Putrada Ekadashi holds great importance in Sanatan Dharma and is observed every year on the Ekadashi of the Shukla Paksha in the month of Sawan (Shravan). Devotees worship Lord Vishnu and Goddess Lakshmi on this day and observe a fast in their honour. The vrat is believed to bring unfailing and eternal rewards, and with Lord Vishnu's blessings, one can attain Moksha. As per religious beliefs, keeping the Putrada Ekadashi fast can bless childless couples with a child. Newly married couples are also encouraged to observe this vrat. It is said that even regular devotees who observe the fast with devotion have their wishes fulfilled and receive the divine blessings of Lakshmi-Narayan. As per the Vedic calendar, the Ekadashi tithi of the Shukla Paksha in the month of Sawan will commence at 11:41 AM on 4th August and conclude at 1:12 PM on 5th August. In Sanatan tradition, the observance of Ekadashi is determined based on the sunrise (Udaya Tithi), and therefore, Putrada Ekadashi will be observed on 5th August 2025. Devotees may take a holy bath and perform rituals dedicated to Lakshmi-Narayan Ji at a suitable time during this period. Putrada Ekadashi Parana Timing The fast for Putrada Ekadashi will be broken on 6th August, with the Parana window lasting from 5:45 AM to 8:26 AM. During this time, devotees are advised to bathe and offer prayers to Lakshmi-Narayan Ji. After the devotional rituals, they may conclude the fast by donating food and performing acts of charity. Putrada Ekadashi Shubh Yoga This year, Putrada Ekadashi will align with the auspicious Indra Yoga, along with the formation of Bhadraavas Yoga. On this day, Bhadra will remain in Swarga Lok until 11:43 AM before transitioning to Patal Lok. Worshipping Lakshmi-Narayan Ji while Bhadra resides in either Swarga or Patal is believed to bring blessings and fulfill devotees' heartfelt wishes.
